People are heard! More thoughts...

The vote for the Mr. T healthcare plan was put on hold, and so I will be holding onto my yay until it is taken off of the agenda in total!
I called the number AARP had for my representative, and Tom Rooney's mailbox was full, so I couldn't leave a message, asking him to vote "NO", boy am I happy that those were all the ones they needed to hold the votes up!

So...

When you have something to say good or bad be it known that when it comes to Facebook someone is always listening!
WHAT?????
Not news to me, news to you?
Any-who, I find it refreshing being validated that on some small level that in life people do listen and respond, occasionally.
I hear, not really, but I read you FB friends and when I do I will occasionally/sometimes/ when I feel I have something pertinent to say/ or if not too busy... what am I crazy everyone knows that I am rarely busy, ha; I'll let you know!
How about you too?
Ya know, you really do.
Not saying anything is also an answer.
Hurtful as that might be or considerate.
But we know you are too busy to say what you really think on everyone's posts... and that is why I frequently will post non-personal ones, just thrown into the mix to see what ya think!
And it has been an interesting enlightening experience.
Do you want to know my non-scientific conclusions?
I can't hear you!
No really I can't, but neither can you hear me, that is the way these things work, unless hooked up to a video or sound system, ya know? Of course you do bud dump bum...
Like earlier today, I was surprised on here to be asked if I wanted to leave a voice message?
Well, not here per se, but on a site I was on.
The one with the test for all those actors pictures, in their twenties from way back when, and I only got one wrong due to me never seeing or hearing about him, I had thought anyway... odd that out of over fifty-five plus all that I had gotten those all correct, but not this guy, Christopher Lee. And because of him my score was 98%, instead of 100%!
Ya wanna bet I will remember him now and forever?
Sadly, or happily I am kinda like that person, you know the one who wants to know everything...so I found out more, and you can too, if you believe in this site as having good Intel...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Lee

Why is it that so many put down Wikipedia, many think the info is made up I think, and some insist it is inaccurate, but how would we know either way, us laymen I mean.
I have heard actors put it down, due to mistakes, but if it is about you they allow for you to correct it!
Personally, I enjoy their tall stories of all that I do not know, or truths of what I want to know, or half-truths that may tilt my feelings/conclusions one way or another, so there!  (I am sticking my adult tongue out at you!)

Tonight was not about one questionable information site, why we know there are many.
I get info from the many CNN, CNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc... The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The LA Times, The Seattle Times, you name it! And I have heard on occasion where some of those have been disparaged for not getting it all right.
I am a sponge for media information hotlines and wealth of informs.
I love it all, even getting those Twitter tweets!
So when the same thing gets on the web or TV and you hear it echoed over and over I perk up my ears/eyes and listen/read in triplicate if need be!
And sometimes, as in TV programming they cut in to the most interesting programs story-lines and tell you all about it even if you know sometimes a short blurb will do.
But you get mesmerized.
And cannot change the channel, cause even if you do it won't change a thing, see they simulcast everything, even not earth shattering news these days!

Please dear media be more intuitive of your audiences need to know.
Tweeting stupid not earth shattering commentary is not worth breaking into my/our GH, General Hospital programing!
Terrorist attacks anywhere in this world that we all love is a very good reason to, that is even if not yet proven to be, acts of war, yes to too, natural disasters threatening people or their dwellings are also on that necessary list.
Deaths of people that are well known to us all, whether natural or not, should be on that concerned need to know list too!

That is just a few, sadly there are so many more that do qualify to need to inform the public, but never ever interrupt for the ridiculous!

Inclosing folks, "I am as mad as hell and I am NOT going to take it anymore!"

So I got off my arse and Hubby and I ...

...Got the hell out of Dodge today!
Although, our transport was our Dodge, Caravan that is.
And no, it was not for work or creativity or even volunteerism it was that six month long interval that was up and it was time to visit my current neuro!
Yup.
I say current, since even though I see him that infrequently, we both, Hubby and I have reconsidered me trying once again to see a local woman neuro and she does have Multiple sclerosis high on her list in her arsenal of current treatment specialties.
I had seen this one when I was hospitalized back in 2009, first time on IV steroids then, and I never had an issue with her, only her billing department, a shame and a misunderstanding really.
Any-who, that was eight years ago and we will see... perhaps we can mend that fence, her office is less than two miles away, while today's doc's is one hundred round trip to Sarasota and back.
Meanwhile he gave me a prescription for the trifecta of MRI's, *w/wo brain, *w/wo cervical spine and *w/wo thoracic spine, he thought it hadn't been done since 2014, but I think it was a year later, either way I am due.
* with and without contrast
I just found out the one neuro before this last one, has died, he was older than us, and I had asked him why hadn't he retired and he had said that he couldn't. I never asked why, too nosey as it was...anyway he passed away only a month ago. His wife was wonderful and an OBGYN that I used to go to too.
We made a late afternoon/early evening of our escapism, with eating out dinner at the Olde World restaurant in North Port Florida: http://owrl.com/ on the way home, it is just north of our Port Charlotte home. Hubby had their pot roast and minestrone soup with mashed potatoes and extra gravy, I had the broiled Basa and baked potato and minestrone soup. I gave Hubby most of my innards from my potato and the pasta from the minestrone, but I did finish the fish, ice water with lemons and limes on the side. Lately I have been asking for both and they all deliver.

It was a trip that varies in time constraints, according to traffic/ accidents or both or none, we took I75 up to exit 207 and arrived fifteen minutes before my appointment for three thirty, but we had left at two. We took the scenic route home, the Tamiami Trail/route 41 and that is why we arrived after leaving the doc's at four nearly getting there at five thirty to the restaurant, not home, eleven miles and twenty-two minutes from home.

All in all it was nice to get out again, it seemed like ages, but in reality it was just three days, ha!

On that note, sorry I am pooped...Mr. T/ Pres. DJ/ Orange Frothy Haired Guy, all the same thing, is constantly acting as per what we sadly have been known to call him, trumpism, and am I the only one who knows why he really chose Pence as a running mate? My theory is that he didn't give a trump-pence for us, get it?
Not funny.
But I am tired... so I will bid you all a better night and day tomorrow, and for me too!
Happy good night all!

Busy work causing me to not constantly look at my laptop and phone most of the day!

I am a bum, or in other words a non-productive retiree.
Many of my peers are still working or creating or volunteering or doing much more than myself.
When I realized I had not been on the computer for five whole hours and that I have been home all those hours it dumbfounded me.
The only reason that I noticed is when I finally looked at the many, many people who had posted on this techno machinery of mine while I had been distracted, not watching TV really, but doing other things... and I had a time stamp from/on the one person who insists on poking me many times daily, probably to see if I am still alert or alive, okay today I wasn't, alert and the jury is still out on that alive thingy, any-who... and five hours had passed, where was I?
I was/am here, still are/am I?
No urges to look at either my celly or computee that is unless someone called, but those were on the landline today, only the landline and not personal, sales and robos calling only... oh, one to make sure I was coming in for my doctor's appointment, guess that qualifies as pseudo personal.
Hubby was here, but he did his thing and I must have done something relevant too, if I could only remember..., oh yes, I changed the towels in the two bathrooms and I did a white load of wash with the soiled ones, but I just asked Hubby if they were put into the dryer and no they hadn't been, oops, where was I?
Here, I know that I was here, but what did I really accomplish?
I have to think hard... today was nearly a lost day, like that Lost Weekend movie with Ray Milland :circa 1945, great flick, must have seen it on TV as a child, that was an odd choice for a child, but that was/is me, and since it was released in 1945, and it was five years before I was born: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Weekend_(film), but I don't drink alcohol these days...than what, why can't I recall what I did today. Uh oh, I am getting scared!
Oh wait, Hubby used the electric trimmer on the miniscule growth of uneven grasses around the yard. Yep, still in a BIG DROUGHT here, fires are still burning sporadically south of here. Hubby thought he smelled the smoke, but that's impossible, it's way too far from here.
And I did respond at sometime to a post of one of my FB friends, in a verbose commentary as per my usual, but what had I said?
Got me.
Doesn't matter, must of have had to do with our "temp" administration, if ONLY!
I think I said something to the effect that I only mention DJ occasionally, because anything more bores me; HUH?
Well, not boring at all, but too constant harping on his inability to get anything right exasperates me as all my past peers from elementary through high school cohorts up in the northern land of my childhood, and rightfully so.
Daily they all bombard the FB pages with this or that of  this misfit's of G-d only knows what has done or said or is trying to do from copying and pasting I might add from very reliable sources that we all have the ability to access and do too and when I asked my question with childlike innocence of these well informed people, "what can we do to change the situation?", no one has a, 'new' idea, the same old ones do not work, since we have all tried them many times, really!
Call your representatives and let them know how you feel, sign petitions etc. etc. is the same ole same ole lament!
I guess I am just frustrated as anyone else with a half of a brain is, and today I am thinking maybe that's all that is left, literally left, half of my brain?
I am not actually numb, but wondering why it appears all these highly intelligent people I lovingly call my Facebook friends have not gotten a tried and true idea on how to legitimately oust the guy, really?
Tell me puleese!
I want answers, not a daily litany of his imbecilic tweets, actual comments or actions of irrationalities!
I want to know how to get rid of him legally!
Today, in passing I thought I had read that one of the many did post an article on the possibility that the Russian fiasco could be his Watergate/Waterloo, and WOW was I excited with that prospect, but he doesn't have the sense of even Tricky Dickie to quit when he is caught!
So my joy was lost and very short lived with that possibility.
But still... it is better than nothing!
The other alternative is left unspoken, but then there is Pence to deal with, and then Ryan...so we are screwed!
These could be the longest scariest four years ever!
I sure hope not... we must find a solution, barring those violent thoughts, to some it could make him a martyr, so put it out of your mind, all of us people of desperation!
Too many out there still...
THINK FOLKS THINK!
Please.
I am exhausted once again...and time has been misplaced once more...!

Warming up the bedroom...

Get your minds out of the gutter! Although, we all should!(Whatever comes to mind.) But... this warm up is with fleecy throws, 50" X 70", in a dark teal, both very reasonable from Target online, in actuality cheaper than the similar fabric would have been if purchased from Jo-Anne's that I had made my other four out of, at the time very cost effective, but they were, well, made is a bit too much, I had them cut the other ones to size. The new fleecy teal ones, one was placed over our micro suede off white DIY headboard and the other one was placed at the foot end for use when/if needed, as the picture shows succinctly here!
Golden bling is added to the small previously all white picture frame on the dresser below, texture in the gold created by an up/down motion tapping with the brush and wooden tray was straight brushing over the previous white colored edges, inside the tray is a purple grape motif painted when before purchased at a thrift shop years ago, most all of the frames hanging had been made golden years ago over their original golden oak, to blend with the décor.
The puff funny face sculptured basket holds make-up and hair items, the desk like wooden letter holder/file matching colored piece also has odds and ends held within it, and I have not decided what color to paint them or if at all. Gold is a possibility... , but of course!
Golden seashells for sponge stamped motif on the white wooden framed window trim,(The blinds are faux white wood from JC Penney's, purchased years ago for both bedrooms, also done years ago, 2004.) to coordinate with the comforter and pillow shams, easily painted over if so desired or we get sick of the design.
Two off white throw pillows designs were painted by making stencils online from clip art and card stock. Originally on the white sleep sofa in the sunroom.
Ideas are for pure fun from many other sites or originating from my own concepts.

More ideas for craft ideas that are fun and keep me out of trouble most days.

Moving on...

Did not go to independent exercise today and won't be for an extended period due to shoulder pain and numbness getting worse.

Who knows when I will be feeling well enough to start once more...oh well, I have been losing weight as long as we don't eat out. Even though I ate little it was not conducive to weight loss.
Busy with doctor's appointments anyway three in this week alone!

That's all for tonight, so allow me to wish you all a very happy good night, and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

So much going on locally today it was difficlt to decide where to go...

...So we chose to take our furry son, Gus, our Havanese mixed rescue dog out for a change.
The first in a very long time for the dog/bog since on his meds, Prozac i.e.
We went very close to home, less than two miles to Bayshore Live Oak Park.
And again I took out my trusty camera phone and snapped away!
When we parked in the lot much to our pleasant surprise Bette Midler was already there parked right next to us! Okay, it wasn't the famous talented amazing musician actress Bette Midler, but a professional look-a-like from way back when, a woman, a doppelganger for the Devine Miss M and portrayed her at specific occasions while a resident of the greater New York, area years ago! She was from Long Island NY, but a Port Charlotte resident these days. When I worked back in the early 1990's in promotion in Daytona Beach Florida we also had look-a-likes that were in demand for special occasions, and I seem to recall a woman who looked like Joan Rivers, and a Marilyn Monroe, and of course the obligatory Elvis and others that have slipped my memory as of these days...sorry!

My photograph does not do the woman justice, she was definitely a ringer for Bette Midler!

I found more murals this time on benches donated back in 2011 by different artists and sponsoring companies. Back in 2005 when we first visited the Florida panhandle we stayed by a lovely true Florida styled artsy village called Seaside. With pastel  colored homes and tin roofs, just a lovely place, but when we returned in 2015 it had become quite built up, a bit bitter sweet, but that is how it goes... any-who, in 2005 they had had a competition of painting Adirondack chairs with personality, a great idea and interesting medium, and when I think about it a fine way to fund raise for any non-profit, including the arts themselves! They were amazing and individually creative with running the gamut from clever to sublime and everything in between! After the competition was completed and the people received ribbons and monetary rewards, I think, many of their art pieces were auctioned off and that is why I think it would be a great fund raiser!

Hubby and Gus down on the beach front that borders our Charlotte Harbor.

There are a few pavilions and facilities for you to use while there, as well as three fishing piers. Dogs are allowed on leashes in the park, but not on the piers.

Hubby's wanting a PIC of this, so of course I took it...we were parked to its left, see our cashmere caravan to the right of the frame?

Nice wide foot bridges, all ADA accessible, thank you!

This pavilion also has in that brick structure a three tier barbecue pit!

Discrepancy, as you can see this bench claims Charlotte Harbor to be in existence since 1862, while the last PIC claims since 1872 is when Charlotte Harbor has existed? Must research it and get back to you!

Hubby giving Gus a drink from his water carrier.

On this note of a very nice weekend, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count  your blessings and share your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Arcadia/antique perusing Florida!

(1)The train station is a refurbished train station circa 1911, and is now used for offices. (2) Looking down Oak Street at many of its main street antique shops and restaurants, a quaint little town it is. (3) is the entrance to the Oak Park Inn a small hotel with a throw back in time shown by its turn of the 20th century décor. (4) Lobby of hotel. (5) Stairway to rooms.

(6) Park adjacent to hotel.
(7) Where we ate, at the Oak Street Deli, but there are fine dining restaurants there too. Hubby had a Reuben and potato salad and I had their very tasty chicken vegetable soup with a small Caesar salad, but I still took most of both items home again, and ice waters were our beverages of choice!

(8) Marker wall at deli, leave your mark, tee, hee!  (9) Is the sampling of antiques from the delis history, and  honey for you to purchase there.

The reason for going to Arcadia again, was to pick up Gus's medication, now a two month supply of his Prozac at his vet's, at the Animal Ark animal hospital there, where we had adopted him from, the Canine Castaways on 12-27-14.
Anyway, it is just 30 miles east of here or forty-four minutes according to the GPS, so not far at all.

So I hope you enjoyed this pictorial of another Florida town nearby, and allow me to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly share all your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Stress took a strange turn...

...toothaches are not supposed to be psychosomatic, are they?
And no I did not get to see a dentist who told me all was well.
But I did take three doses, since yesterday of extra strength Tylenol for the pain, since we all know it is NOT an anti-inflammatory that it is for pain!
And I still have a dull ache there where my booboo tooth is.
But the local dentist office's fellow at the desk was so very rude and said they could not fit me in, and Hubby mentioned his conversation with the last evening supervisor saying we could wait as walk ins.
He said no.
But he did ask and came back with an alright and started to take my info, while telling me that this first free visit with x-rays included was going to cost $116!
You see, the only insurance that I do not have is dental, and most anyway that I investigated take six months to kick in whether you have a toothache or not, and they are within our budget, but as luck would have it...
Pain before coverage is not a good thing, although I do have a safety net of Care Credit which allows you to use it for thousands of dollars worth with no interest for a certain time frame, usually three years, and that is what we had done for Hubby's extensive work, and we were prepared to do that too once we knew what was my needs. It is a win, win for the dentist because they get paid upfront and we have a no interest loan. And with Hubby I paid it off early due to paying double each month and his was several thousand!
So shame on them not following through with their "free" offer!
So we left and got gas at Sam's Club, BTW 2.15.9 a gallon there, four cents cheaper than all the other guys.
It was still early and my extra strength Tylenol was doing a fine job of keeping the pain at bay, and so I asked Hubby if he thought we had enough time to go over to the Sports Rehab, and so we did.
I got a half hour in.
And then we had lunch at home, after bringing it in from the cooler in the car.
I had suggested to take it with us, since we thought we might be there at the dentist office for hours to do that, so Hubby could eat and I was hoping I might feel well enough to too.
It was his other half of his roast beef sub and my three quarters of my wrap.
We both ate fine, but for me only the other quarter.
I found that if I eat on my right side of my mouth it works without much pain at all!

After we both chilled, me watching GH, General Hospital from 2-3 on ABC, and Hubby napping I decided that since I was feeling better and we forgot to pick up a corned beef while at Publix yesterday that I would see if we had the fixings for beef stew and we did!
Also a festive St. Paddy's day meal, truly served more often in Ireland, since corned beef is an Irish American concept.
Hubby heard this morning on the TV, and we all know that whatever we hear there is true, not, well maybe, mostly, sometimes, needs further investigation for verification...any-who, that the reason the Irish Americans switched to corned beef was due to their arrival in NYC and moving into Jewish American neighborhoods. In Ireland they would have bacon, but that was not Kosher and so that is why they switched to corned beef and cabbage to share with their new neighbors! Sounds like a nice anecdote whether if it's true or not. And yes, corned beef is very popular with many of my relatives, who are many Jews and some Irishmen too I bet, who knows, who cares! For every March 17th we are all Irish!

On that note of joy and celebration, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly share your blessings and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS My tooth has calmed down considerably and with the weekend who knows what each day may bring, but if it is too too bad I will feel sorry that I did not have the dentist check it... meanwhile I will continue to stay off of it, ha! And for back up pain meds I do have my additional Gabapentin. Oh I had forgotten to tell you all I never weaned myself off that higher twelve hundred milligram dose I instead just stopped cold turkey, within days of that last dose, months ago! I have been only on 300 mg. for these last several months once again, one, for at bedtime. So now I know how to use it carefully when need be.

PSS I have found a few days ago another binge worthy Netflix show, called Murdoch Mysteries that is so G rated compared to all those other ones I was watching even compared to Sherlock!
And BTW, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, makes several appearances in this latest faire of my viewing pleasure!
It is set in the late 1890's in Toronto Canada, and everything is just being used and invented in forensics, it's fascinating, truly! Also non-crime fighting inventions come into play. The show was given four stars and has seven seasons. I am well into season one and enjoying every minute.

PSSS I suppose I should take another couple of extra strength Tylenol my last ones were at 10:15 this morning and I am starting to feel a twinge of pain just beginning, see ya!

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
