Does that make all days also from now on...Cyber Monday (s) thru Cyber Sundays?
You see, it was my understanding that now somewhere during the day of Thanksgiving the gift buying ensues!
So is that now Black Thursday to go along with Black Friday?
To me I truly wish that name would change, to me it sounds a bit racist, although I do understand where the name originally came from, one theory is that having me been a business woman and all I do know this answer, of a small business woman at one time too, and also working for large retailers too... it has to do with the books, cooking the books, also known as BIG TROUBLE for the company, legally that is, and not at all tasty, get it, "cooking"?... and so it was the color they would change to when burnt...nooooooooooo, that's not right...at all! What it means is that the discounts from the sales that first you change the actual prices to way too high, and so high that you are also very high passed the glass ceiling that us women finally broke a while back and unfortunately due to dampness between the glass and the ceiling itself, the ceiling above the glass turned to black mold, and now we and eat all that additional expense of the sale on only things that were naturally black like laces, and tights, workout clothes, so we would lower the items prices and pray for everything to sell out!... No, wait... that doesn't sound quite right either, hmm... let me think on that a minute... oh I really do know; it goes back to business math and accounting, that's right! YES! What we did when things went south, i.e. profit margin was down- wise we wrote the numbers on our old school tally sheets in RED, representing bleeding us dry, and if they went up, meaning showing a profit they were written in BLACK, thus being in the black, therefore successful sales for the business, and also having an abundance of black ink since that too was cheap! So consumers should understand that when they truly feel the stores are giving them all those DISCOUNTS it's
not actually so, it's just so so...! Uh OH! I went too far!
Grinch-like or maybe a little too much Scrooge-like? Tis the season!
But folks that is the truth, the prices are jacked up before the sale day so the retail businesses can have a very, very, very BLACK SALE DAY when you think you are getting 90% off, and in spite of all those deep discounts that you think you are getting! But do shop, our economy always needs it and just please be a smarter consumer and really do comparison shop!
No harm, no foul, you feel you got a deal and they truly HAVE gotten one to millions, maybe billions of dollars of deals from all of you!

For shame, not really. We seem to be the least shamed by what we do as a nation these days; what's wrong with this picture?
