As we all understand what that means that actions speak louder than words, hmm?
Unfortunately, after seeing the HBOs John Adams miniseries that we had rented years ago, and enjoyed tremendously and that made these founding fathers of our country come to life over two hundred years after they were actually here. We saw characteristics not unlike politicians of today.
Benjamin Franklin was rather an ass, and not unlike many politicians that are womanizers today!
Although, works like Poor Richard's Almanac, and his inventions, and being one of the drafters of the Constitution of the United States seems to have had little to do with the actual man himself and his true character. Showing in the series how while enlisting the aid of France he led a less than exemplary life!
And I did so like him before seeing the series. Historically speaking I am more than sure they somehow were able to find out these amazing things about these forefathers of our country. It was a Pulitzer Prize winning series. It was so long ago that we saw it that Blockbuster was still around and that was our access to the series!
Any-who, that is not to lessen the significance of any of his quotes meanings.
As my example above proves. He was incredible, but a dichotomy in the sense of contradictions.
Moving on...
The weekend has once again arrived and so has our gastronomical mini vacay of international cuisine; tonight was the Thai Cafe's curry and crispy duck that we both have enough leftovers for at least two more meals. Tomorrow will be Italian American cuisine with choices from Bocca Lupo, not sure what we will choose as of yet.
The Thai Cafe has fortune cookies that are at the register and Hubby took four, and tonight's were, for mine, "Action is the proper fruit of knowledge." Also, "Attitudes are the forerunners of conditions".
I am at a loss, anybody?????????
Hubby's are, " A good home is happiness." No argument there; I like it!
And his next one is, "An important person will offer you support." Mysterious in the sense that at this time thankfully I cannot think of anything or any reason he will be needing that!
