On a break while living in vacationland!

True the red tide and the blue green algae has taken something out of the joy of living on a waterway with harbor and Gulf access, but lest us not forget the irrational heatwave that shows no sign of quitting either...So we work with what we have... Hubby installed the new tarp/sailcloth over our swimming pool and so I was back in it this morning, YAY!
Another advantage to living where tourists frequent is also having all types of eateries, and so Yay to that too! And with all the negative press about our waterways crowds have sadly/happily diminished... so wait times are that much less.
So over the weekend we had Mexican fair from Plaza Mexico, and then the following night, Chinese dinners from China City, and yum, leaving via tummy delighting is a neat way for a gastronomical getaway!

And tonight you get to see our fortunes once again, Geez I knew you were waiting, hmm?
Mine were quite self explanatory without hidden or mysterious meanings what-so-ever, "Talk is cheap, barbers give it away with haircuts." "The road to success is often a lonely one."
In truth neither had the OMG factor or even a small wow. Frown.
Hubby's were again without a hidden agenda, "The strangest, most generous, and proudest of all virtues is true courage." "Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in." I feel like I was at a work related pep talk. Another frown.
What happened to Confucius saying his true words of wisdom that made us all think?
Sorry, fortune cookie people you gotta go back to your firm roots, not any of this newbie stuff please!
Disappointed.
Again they did give us four cookies with just two meals ordered, and for that I say thanks... although their portions are three meals worth and for the two of us each that is.
Same with our food from the Mexican restaurant, although mine is turning into four!
So even though some may believe eating out can be extravagant even with take out as we do, or as the UK calls it "take away", we do feel we get our monies worth and by dividing it up caloric/sodium wise it too is less dangerous!
Although, with the Mexican food I order vegetarian, and with the Chinese food I ordered steamed shrimp and Chinese vegetables that includes broccoli! That oddly enough I do love, but Hubby doesn't.

Moving on...

As you know all over the world people are suffering harshly from natural disasters and Global warming that IS HERE FOLKS!
Now that silly chuckle for 1000 SPF plus sunscreen in the Back to the Future movies doesn't seem so funny anymore, does it??????????????
We are living in that future, and sadly it was right on target!
Oddly enough, I have gone back to basics with sunscreen and by taking a subjective idea from Life Guards that I asked years ago what they wore on their noses for sunscreen the answer came back time and time again... ZINC OXIDE!
Or Desitin, yes the same stuff we as Moms and Dads put on our babies bottoms for irritations!
The main ingredient is zinc oxide that so far has not had any bad reviews or nasty showdowns on not using it for the babes.
In its generic form without the name brand is quite cost effective and protective when used as sunscreen.
And due to the thickness that can be rubbed in or left with the whiteness making you looking ghostly in private, but who cares then, really?
Suggestion, do not share with your child, keep separate ones in separate locations, just a sanitary idea.
But it does work and washes off in the hot shower after the swim, and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft!
Some people have been know to add food coloring to it just for additional fun, personally I never have.
Although, if I still had little ones at home I might squirt some in paper cups and make an art project out of the concept with adding in food coloring, and lid them up to take with to the next swim...I'm just saying.
I do not think they will cause any harm to pools or the lake or the sea/ocean, all non-toxic.

 Happy good night all!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
