This yearly event was started by a local Punta Gorda resident named Michael Haymans an attorney; he and a few friends decided to celebrate the Fourth of July by swimming the 1.5 miles across the Peace River, from the 41/Tamiami Trail bridge to Fisherman's Village. It started small, but has grown over the years and this year it was about 600 participants from just those few!
Below you can see all those covered items on their cement dock are tonight's fireworks!
Below are PICS of where we land when we arrive home!
If you tap to enlarge any of my PICS, but on these you will read my clever way of using our last name that I call fractured in giving it a coastal/nautical feel to it "Crewgulls Cottage" on that life preserver. Is our home!
We are, since we had our mandatory barbecue of hotdogs with more of my homemade salads.
And now we are rain cooled, dropping the 96, felt like 105, now down to 77 degrees!
And we will probably be going out on the boat again for the fireworks tonight!
Hard to take those PICS though; at least I haven't had too much luck with them... should ask my old chum from school who is a pro photographer how to get those better shots.
Oh well, I will try to.
Happy good night to all!
Share those blessings and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
