Oh I bet you thought I was watching the clock until this nightmare political torture is over tomorrow night or after that?
Nah, I'm watching it for a totally different more personal reason.
Okay and here it is...!
A Facebook friend sweetly and encouragingly suggested that I take baby steps in consuming my meals after I wrote about my debacle of last night.
But I have no desire to step onto my plate even with baby steps, bud dump bum... and thanks FB friend; I did know what you meant in case you were not sure.
Instead I decided to try something a bit more sanitary and easier for me and that is for me to stare at a clock to slow myself down.
What a concept!
So far, I started eleven minutes ago, and still have about a quarter of my dinner left, not great but these writing breaks are helping too, hmm?
On the menu tonight I made from leftover meatloaf a simulated Salisbury steak with homemade beef gravy from beef sodium free bullions, three this time for flavor!
And of course onions and mushrooms and garlic smidge of olive oil and flour for thickening, as well as Kosher salt and pepper to taste.
I mentioned Kosher salt only because it is lower in sodium, compare and you will see this too, or perhaps you already know.
Well, now it is twenty minutes and I am still eating with more to try to get down, but I think I am done!
I suppose twenty minutes isn't bad, compared to my previous bests of less than ten and ten, oops did I say/write that out loud?
Shame on me.
But M was right, FB friend, I must slow my pace.
Even so... my tummy is quite full.
Mushing these dinners up I have been using my fork, oh we also had mashed potatoes and I had yellow squash and Hubby had peas, they are still a no, no for me, i.e. peas.
And so are cauliflower and broccoli, as well as Brussels sprouts, no cruciferous veggies yet.
Peas, it is due to the carbs, 21 grams.
I am learning more than I thought I would, but no harm no foul, always willing to learn something, anything!
