Sleepless in Port Charlotte

Last night was another lost night.
Somehow, somewhere I acquired a pulled stomach muscle that manifested itself in a painful manner logically landing in my mid-section of my abundant full figure and to the left of it all.
The mystery is how this odd, usually sports oriented mishap happened.
I neither had gym/rehab yesterday nor did I over indulge in a wild sporting contesting event.
Coughing has been dallying in my throat, due to unfamiliar tickles in my throat and sure I still do get those nasty muscle spasms all over the place from my MS, but numb-like and not as terrifying, in spite of reductions of my anti-spasmodics, the Baclofen and doing completely away with the Gabapentin.
And so I have come to the conclusion that this wayward stomach muscle pull must have come from a combination of the issues above, but prolonged its stay for its own unknown rhymes or reasoning!
And with this realization I Google, which is my go to location for finding out how to deal with not life and death medical issues, and I bet that you have done it too? That is gone there to get your refresher course in first aid that we all have had due to scouting or some other whys or wherefores, for me to teach some non-profit kiddies or adults or for my Aquacize certification, I believe may have been my last time or some such course as was my CPR training, who remembers when or why that was for either.

So being armed with how to handle a stomach muscle pull: http://www.ehow.com/how_5607980_treat-pulled-stomach-muscle.html

I knew that I was quite capable to deal with this annoying and painful, but not life changing aperture in my memory to deal with reliably from the concise information gleaned from the online apt information.

And that is exactly what I did do; I iced my belly boo boo for twenty minutes twice yesterday and showered of course with a warm dousing that also seemed to help and for a thrice time at 1:30 A.M. earlier this morning for thirty minutes and stayed awake in the recliner due to the fact that lying down too straight was extremely painful. The only glitches in the directions were the amount of times recommended, only four times in a day’s time.
As well as using Ibuprofen for the pain and probable swelling, well Ibuprofen as all anti-inflammatories cause me to have stomach bleeding, years ago one even sent me to the hospital for that very reason.
So icing with alternating warm showers was my only way to handle this and apparently it has appeared to work!
I got back to bed at four A.M. and slept once again until 8:15 A.M. and showered after breakfast and was ready to go to the rehab/gym!
Hubby and I both decided that even though today was my sixth month anniversary of going back to the exercise program and I had said I was going to finally increase my times and reps that due to my injury I would have to play it by ear…

That is what I did.
Very sadly, our friend from NJ was there and looked miserable and we asked, and sure enough his wife’s expected demise from her lung cancer had occurred over the weekend on this past Saturday morning, we gave him our condolences and let him talk…
His nephew was down visiting to help him, a Tampa Marine Patrol officer.
His wife had planned well with him, with all details having been taken care of in preparation for this very sad time in both their lives.
He has decided to sell his home, which he feels is too big for him and his family that have moved down to Florida all seem to live in the Tampa area, where he would like to go.

I was motivated to try harder no matter what!
So today was my first day of twenty minutes on the arm cycle, now ten minutes in either direction from my previous just seven and half minutes each way!
My total gym was increased from the two sets of fifty to two sets of sixty!
The overhead pull-down apparatus was increased from two sets in either direction of thirty counts to two sets of forty!
I want to live and be as strong as I can be…I’m going out fighting!

Moving on…
SHUTDOWN DAY 9
Still no resolve in the war of wills, but thankfully the death benefits will be taken care of for the recent military soldiers that have lost their lives fighting for our freedoms and their families. (But by a non-profit is the Angel! The Department of Defense has entered into an agreement with the non-profit organization The Fisher House Foundation located in Rockville, Maryland to pay for costs in the meantime.)
So ironic… they died for us to have this????
People who cannot seem to care enough to accomplish what they were hired to do, yep your votes was their hire!
My heart cries for all those families that lost their children in battle for all of us, these were young people from 19 to 25 years of age… and some did have families started of their own…
How horrid that our government cannot get their highly paid acts together to make sure that none of them have died in vain!

Oh, this is just so awful, the whole mess!
We are supposed to be Americans FOR Americans folks, where are those elected officials, our employees now that we need them to do what is right and just for all of us?

On these oh so sour notes, allow me to be in spite of it all be the first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
