Mistake that is not yet rectified, no matter what was done today....

As many know we love eating out.

And a bargain is a bargain when we do.

Today we once again ate at our favorite go to place when we want reasonably priced comfort food, the Cultural Center’s cafeteria deli.

Hubby ordered meatloaf with two sides for $4.67 and I had their small salad and cup of soup for $4.95 with tax and our own beverages these gargantuan meals were $10.29 for both, but not thrice that!

Yep, the older woman who mans the cash register on Mondays always has had difficulty when we hand her our credit card, but this is the first time for this happening! The meals were enjoyable but not worth $30.87!

Hubby suggested checking our online bank account when we arrived home and this is what I found, the PIC that is above.

I called the manager of the cafeteria to tell him, Chris, we have spoken often in person to him, but I got his voice mail and I did leave a message with what had happened and of course our phone number to call us back.

Then I called back and told the person answering for the center that he was not there, but I did leave a message and asked is there was anyone else I could speak with that could fix this now? And the operator for the complex sent my call over to the administration office, accounting department, and again I left a voice mail for Velma, now both have not called me back and this was around one thirty-five P.M. or there about…and so I notified our bank and they sent me to their billing dispute department where Brandon there said that until those pending charges go through that he could not intervene, but he agreed and that he was able to see the ridiculous mistake! He told me that if they do not take care of it to call him back and he gave me another toll free number, that goes directly to their billing disputes’ office!

I know this is not high finance with an overcharge of only $20.58, but it is the principle of the thing. Other days of the week another woman, also older, is the cashier and does fine when we hand her our card and to date has not made any mistakes with our charges.

Some may wonder why we use a charge on such a small amount, well for two reasons, we do carry cash but only a little for emergencies, and to use a debit card is not a good idea for safety reasons, credit cards are more secure and with our particular card we receive percentages of monetary rewards monthly by using it. And yes, we have gone back to using it for everything monthly, due to making more than many savings accounts can make with anywhere from $25 to $30 bucks monthly on our checking account! It does add up and so why not?

I know, so this doesn’t happen...

In my opinion this is just another case of not training a person properly to do the job at hand.

As many know my background is in business/retail management and that is why I feel that way. Many people are great at what they do, but just need refresher courses…to keep up with changes.

The woman is pleasant enough and after all a volunteer, I do believe, but still should be trained accordingly to handle the register properly specifically so this doesn’t happen.

Moving on…

Any-who, DAY 7 of the SHUTDOWN

And sadly, no resolve in sight.

Stubbornness prevails, oddly enough at times being a bit inflexible can be beneficial, but when too many people’s lives and livelihoods are at stake…

The results are speaking for themselves, now 70% of the GOP is disrespected by all Americans, since we feel they are NOT listening to any of us!

With October 17th looming large with a possible default, only ten days away, we as a country are angrier than ever over our political parties taking advantage of the power that they are wielding, not at all thinking of our needs or what we actually want!

The threat, included now, in all the rest is that the military and social security payments will be much delayed next month without a balanced budget and default causing monies not to be there to pay out to the people… this is HORRENDOUS PEOPLE! We on social security have paid in…for us, it is more than half of our monthly income!

Elderly and ill people will be devastated with bills and decisions on how to pay for everything.

Not to mention our soldiers putting their lives on the line daily for our freedoms not getting paid for that!

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP NOW!

LISTEN PLEASE!

Oh I don’t know what to do anymore, any more than you do I bet, but I sure wish we could do something!

On that very low note, allow me in spite of it all wish you all to have a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and ask you to share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
