This may not be the right time, but they’re some whom believe there is never a good time for that ‘speaking your mind’ thingy…Now where did I hear that before, hmm?
Sure, some prefer to think that complaining is wrong.
And many may think that it is counterproductive.
But I am of the belief that one must tell someone when they are terrific as well as when they are not; simplicity at its best.
Some may truly feel that I am no different than them and why do I think that I can make that call of what is right and what is wrong?
I beg to differ with most all of you, since if you see something askew or blatantly wrong like a parent hitting a child or children abusing an animal; would you not speak up and say something?
Life is pretty much clear cut when we truly think about what is right or what is wrong and if by now you don’t know that my friends than you need to go back to kindergarten where they teach the concept as well in your own home more than likely by the age of three.
Being irked is my polite way of saying that when I see something not quite right I will report it and let whatever’s fall where they may.
But this is not about any of that, which I do believe is our responsibility to interfere as if our lives depended on it!
No, my concerns for tonight are much more mundane and if you have the time, I will tell you mine…All this talk about ‘the holidays’, what happened to using the names, the ones that GOD and G-d had given them, Christmas and Hanukkah and all the other named holidays that were rather historical names and when did we as human beings have come to the conclusion that we MUST never hurt anyone else’s feelings and so we should use the generic terminology of ‘the holidays’? Here I must report that in most other areas of the world, out of these United States, ‘the holiday’ or ‘holidays’, is another name for what we call a vacation, and that most Americans take, that is in the summer, true?
Someday, methinks someone may find that the seasons should be clumped together as well, ‘the seasons’ without the distinctive names of, winter, spring, summer and fall… Why right here in Florida we really don’t have them all; I kid that we only have the dry and hurricane seasons. As many other areas of this country or even the world may claim too, not to mention Australia and New Zealand whose seasons are the opposite of ours in how they present themselves. I would never ever try to tell them that in summer it doesn’t snow or winter is never hot, since with global warming what’s up is down and what’s down is up anyway for almost all of us, true?
But if I am correct they too prefer to call the times of year by their individual names, and no one has complained to them to do only the COLLECTIVE FORM of ‘THE SEASONS’, right?
Just trying to put things into perspective, ya know?
Maybe in the USA that summer could be called Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day?
And the fall could be called, High Holy Days, Sukkoth, Veterans Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving?
Winter could be Hanukkah, Christmas, all other religious holidays, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day?
Spring could be called St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and Passover?
You get the idea; I mean just to be fair, hmm?
OH ALRIGHT! I’ll give in…THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING, but will you give me the one and that is that we have them all year round?
Just like the seasons?
On that ridiculous argument of not getting anywhere else but here, which is fine with me, nice trip…bud, dump, bum… allow me to be the first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
