Some may argue that I don’t do that that is think before I write or talk.
My impartiality about my views political and otherwise might rub some people the wrong way.
I suppose on certain topics we all should tread lightly, the so-called taboo ones, hmm?
Isn’t that sex, politics and religion?
Gosh, what is there to talk about?
Most of my Facebook friends are not shy or dishonest with their feelings, and not discussing mine seems downright wrong!
Well, that has never stopped me before and won’t now.
The same lament has reared its ugly head, that many out in our country are experiencing amnesia…
And blaming our President Obama for our country's ills!
Have you all forgotten that he inherited all of them from our previous President Bush?
And that we have seen improvements in many areas at a slower pace, since any bills that Barack tries to get passed hit brick walls called the congress with leftover good ole boys from the Bush administration preventing him from making any headway!
The National MS Society and AARP have both supported him on how he is protecting Medicare and making sure pre-existing patients with Multiple Sclerosis will now be helped! The other party tries to tell you that it is the opposite.
It is true that the unemployment rate is still way too high, but continuing to give tax breaks to the very rich like Romney so that they can close more major employers businesses and factories so they can make more pocket change, in the millions, for only themselves, is way off and self destructive!
Check your facts people, that’s all I am saying!
We have very nice thing going on down here in Southwest Florida, the news stations on a regular basis verify the comments of the candidates in their TV commercials.
That should be inaccuracies and in some cases downright misinformation.
I do believe it is quite a service they're giving to their viewing public and makes us that much better informed. These are the networks from the major ones, the local affiliates and so they are responsible for checking their facts and buy-and whole whether or not the accuracy of that information is correct.
I can't remember the last time anything like this has happened during a political campaign for so many months and it is refreshing to know reliability and honesty and non-bias reporting is still there for us to access, at least I would like to think that.
It's not just one station doing this I noticed another also proving or disproving what the candidates have been saying and sure enough some things are not totally accurate or should I say true at all.
Sadly, both candidates have not had their teams check their facts as well as they should have, leaving them with egg on their faces on occasion.
So in reality with less than two months to go until we all cast our votes I have decided to ignore the commercials and all the e-mails I keep getting sent from them.
Even phone calls wanting to know which way hubby and I are voting; we know and we tell them and they keep calling anyway. If you say you're voting for their candidate and ask them not to call you again; shouldn’t that be enough?
Hubby and I registered as nonpartisan since we both believe that we vote for the right person, and that has been from either party over the years on a local basis as well as on a national basis. I truly believed that when we registered as nonpartisans that would stop the phone calls and e-mails and literature by snail mail from occurring. Didn't we all put our names on that do not call list?
I know we did; what happened to that?
I used to enjoy the political process as a kid we wore buttons stating who we wanted to win, since we were too young to vote. Civics is the way government is taught in public schools; I believe I have a basic knowledge of how government works but not as well as I would like to; not trying to be irreverent but I don’t think, neither do they.
That's just my unrequested opinion, as usual.
If that's not beating around the bush, no pun intended, I don't know what is… Perhaps religion is next, and I have a stockpile of ‘cringe factors’ so maybe we'll discuss some, SEX, next time?
Let's face it, we all know it, we all do it, we believe or we don't, we do or we don't… That doesn't shock anyone? GOOD, than my job is done…
And hopefully, we all vote, no ifs or ands about that!
If there is nothing else we do in this life, living in a free country, where we have the ability to decide on one day in the year every four years who will be the one we choose… that is our obligation as American citizens and to ourselves, in a nation that has the ability to lead by example in the world arena. Gosh, how many times a day do we not remind one another that those young men and women all over the world are fighting for that, our freedom to decide for ourselves?
On that something, I truly hope for us to think about, allow me to be the first to wish you a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages, and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
