The appointment was to see if it was possible to receive a denial letter from a health insurance company to proceed in the process of attaining from the federal government my pre-existing health insurance.
Hubby had the idea to contact our homeowner’s insurance company or I should say agent which is State Farm.
And they were kind enough to make an appointment for us for 11 AM this morning and the woman who is the head of the agency saw us personally and while we sat in her office she contacted the proper companies to ascertain the appropriate forms to begin the process without us having to spend any monies upfront.
I thanked her profusely and gave her a hug. We used to also have our auto insurance with them but when we got a better deal, we left.
She did some research and gave us a printout for us to compare the two coverages and hers came in about 40 bucks cheaper per six-month pay period than our even discounted one, so now we're going to have to have some decisions to make. Our other insurance is paid for about two more months, since we pay twice a year.
It should be a no-brainer, but some of the amounts seem a little bit different than the coverage that we already have so we will have to give a careful scrutiny before we make that final decision.
With most things over the last few years it has been a fiduciary relationship with only us and what our pocketbooks feel comfortable with spending.
Unfortunately, we haven't felt the responsibility to be loyal to any insurance company over these last several years, since many, even when you're a good driver, a safe driver they keep raising their premiums. That is why we leave them. And as far as homeowners go after the hurricane, that is Charley circa 2004, they canceled us. And so perhaps you can understand why our loyalty has waned.
Businesses and different companies over the years, these last several especially have had to do whatever it takes to stay in business and many have changed their way of doing business.
Many have felt the need to be more concerned with their image and have bent over backwards to keep the public aware of how much they need them.
Not a bad way of doing business.
And it seems to have worked, for those who did this seem to have survived the economic downturn.
It's true that many had to take significant financial losses to compensate for reputations that made customers feel they came first.
Any good business person knows that without customers you don't have a business.
All in all, the proof is in the pudding.
“proof is in the pudding
Prov. You cannot be sure that you have succeeded until you have examined the result of your efforts. Jill: I think we've done a good job of fixing the lawn mower. Jane: Well, the proof is in the pudding. We haven't tried to mow the lawn with it yet.”

It's a wonderful thing to be able to access reliable information at the click of the mouse or by asking your Dragon to do it… Still working on that one.
And as in all businesses the ones who succeed in their efforts create a positive word-of-mouth for all of their customers who receive benefits of their abilities to produce what they say they are going to do, it's as simple as that.
You cannot buy what a happy customer will share with others and so as you know I do enjoy sharing the good with the bad and even the ugly.
Maybe, that's my real objective with this to proclaim how the ‘everywoman,’ has been treated in the real world, in real situations, what a concept.
So it looks like, I should've had hubby take the reins of this one long ago and then perhaps all my aggravation would've been for naught.
In reality, although I've been a married woman for nearly 42 years, I had been more an independent married woman not a dependent married woman.
Sometimes and in some generational thing I suppose everyone has to back off and allow others to take over, temporarily, since their knowledge and abilities should be respected as well as your own.
Hopefully, we will receive that letter within the next week and the process will begin.
As I've told you before once they receive the letter of denial it will take a month before the total process is completed.
Interestingly, my neck pain fluctuates as the day goes on… Sometimes I can go for hours without my soft cervical collar, and sometimes not too long at all.
Not being a medical doctor I don't know what this means and I would like to, perhaps if the process speeds up maybe I can move up my appointment to an earlier date.
I just want to have all my ducks in a row to make sure that I am CYA ing all the possibilities and not jeopardizing my health, or my home; where especially my husband’s concerns about any of that would be too.
Yes I am a worrywart; always have been.
As we all like to think peace of mind is priceless and don't we all just want that?
On that moving on in the right direction for a needed purpose, many may think long-overdue. Well, I just started receiving my early Social Security payments in August where I would have enough monies to afford the government plan for pre-existing and have a little left over to help hubby pay his teeth off earlier, and my planning is for six months sooner, a year, instead of eighteen months, for him, still with no interest on that GE care credit plan. And so, now if all goes according to this plan him and I will have most emergencies, medical anyway, taking care of, and I consider that peace of mind, as I am sure you do too.
That made me smile and so with that positive sensation pulsating through my bod, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
