Tedium

Tedium: tediousness, boredom, dullness, deadliness, dreariness, monotony, tiresomeness… The above definition is my way of explaining how a good part of my day was wasted without accomplishing a thing. It wasn't from lack of trying the deadline for a return call from the health department billing woman had passed few days ago and so hubby called Tallahassee back and told them that. I heard back from the Dr. I saw that day the one I like and call the neuvo Marcus Welby M.D. and he called to tell me that he was working as a mediator for the bill and that he had spent quite a bit of time with me. I said that we spent more time waiting for him than he spent with me. Hubby can attest to this since he was there too. And that my previous bill had been that $38 number I mentioned and why was his so much? And I felt he really shouldn't have anything to do with this, since it had to do with the billing department and we had never ever been charged this much and we have been full pay for years. In fact they no longer do a financial on us, since we pay the full price each time we go. He still did not seem to understand. Sorry, I took a wee bit longer; an interesting happening occurred just now, I received a phone call from the new director of the county health department. And we had a short meeting of the minds and in the end I do believe we both left with a new respect for the need for appropriate communication. And guess what? Yep, my payment of the $38.03 will be accepted as being paid in full. He tried, explaining what a five and or a two in Medicare meant, but I have no idea, since I don’t have Medicare, yet. Any-who, his explanation was way too vague even when he said it was the complexity of the visit, I questioned again what that was all about. And again I insisted that the visit was not any different than my visit in February that was billed at $38.03. I kept requesting laymen terms to be utilized, since I am not one of them… He mentioned my financial had not been done, and I said I was told that I paid full price now and that I no longer needed a financial every six month like I had before for all those years. My analogy to prove my point of what had occurred was of witnesses to a crime identifying the perp totally differently although they all insisted they had seen him. But I said my husband was there at the May visit with me and saw exactly as I did, no different from my visit in February and that he was with me then too. I said perhaps the doctor should ask the Physician Assistant that he was training that was with him then to clarify what had occurred. Anyway, right now, I am waiting for the doctor to call and he holds, the cards for the renewal of two prescriptions that I do need…I hope he takes care of them and does not think that since I have resolved the bill according to how it was not how he seemed to remember it so differently... time will tell, hmm? I am totally exhausted from all of this… It does seem to be resolved though, but until I get my prescription renewal… Good night to all and to all count your blessings and share your overages and we will too! Next time PLEASE BE HERE OR BE SQUARE, ya hear?
