Interesting?

Have you ever wondered about the background of the ability of those who taught those classes at the centers in your community?
Well, as interesting, attractive, motivating, appealing, exciting, fascinating, attention-grabbing, out of the ordinary, remarkable, note worthy as that might seem to most like myself I bet few ask that question, huh?
I always do about anyone that I will be using for health of education purposes I think it is only logical to know that they have the credentials to help you in the way that they are trained in, correct?
And so when I joined a writers’ workshop years ago it was just dandy to find out that it was being given by a retired English Professor! I did have a few semesters of journalism in college too, and my professor Beatrice Cole, a ghost writer also told me that I had potential and gave me many A’s!
And so on our last visit to the cultural center… where I do make it a habit to check their future curriculum to see if they are offering any creative writing workshops or just any type of educational classes to do with all types of writing specialties.
And so I always try to examine the sheets of paper that are located as you walk into the center at their main desk that has the class schedules.
It appears that over the last several years no one has offered to teach a class on the topics that I am interested in, and that I have determined that I so need to continue to learn in that forum, but we all do, huh? (In any interest or just in life itself.)
But taking an actual college class is more than I could consume or desire at this point in my life with my limited abilities, but something, anything of the sort on a smaller scale would be so nice to attend.
And so I periodically ask and it seems that I have had different people to ask each and every time since the whole place has few paid professionals there, it is volunteer driven as so many cultural centers realms are.
But this time a long slender drink of water, we used to call that body typed gentleman of the senior variety capped off with a very lovely white coiffeur said that I could teach such a class! And even so, the man was considerably my elder and I had to beg to differ with him and stated that I was totally unqualified not having an English or Journalism degree. He disagreed with that since I had told him earlier that I do write a blog and have written on occasion for the newspaper, several editorial comments that they published, but they publish everyone’s, and a couple of by-lines, which were heavily edited by someone who did have all those credentials and made me look good. But he said most of the people who teach courses there do not have degrees in the classes they teach, and then he rattled off classes in artistic fields of painting, stained glass and the like, as well as languages and computers, et al! I was astonished; to say the least. I thought first then how do the people know that what they are taught is right? Gosh, could I teach a class… that was my next thought and then I thought again and said not when I wasn’t so sure of the how or the actual way to do it, fluttering through my brain was the ideas of my own delving into making an outline of the beginning and middle and end to create a story like the five novellas that I wrote years ago, and also in my childhood, a play, that I wrote about a candy store robbery called, ‘Sweet Job’, written in the vernacular of the Bowery Boys verbiage… And after all I had taught math to students in an after school VIP program and Aquacize to seniors in the pool, and I was trained to teach a self help course too. But those all took specific training not just throwing caution to the wind and going for it! Then I got this silly ridiculous idea of asking my old friend that English Prof who is too ill to do it herself over any time in the near future. I thought she could tell me what to do, and then I snapped out of it, and said, what am I, crazy?
How could I presume to do that with so many counting on me for accuracy and legitimate information, and the concept of teaching this thing that I love to do so much to others went the way of the Neru jacket in my mind… “Forget about it!” My weary brain does not have the fortitude to do what I need others to do...to teach, train, coach, instruct, lecture, edify, school, tutor and educate me!
Geez…if only I could!
Nah, reality check, and a smack in my own face, figuratively speaking that is who needs any more real pain these days!

On that somewhat ridiculous note, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
