Doing good deeds?

We are not always aware of what one can do to be helpful at this time of year, actually everyday.
Little things do count, if your really think about it, and I do.
These last several years when my life has seemed to have turned topsy turvey I now understand.
Yep, I was the volunteer with many non-profits.
I will not go into in all the different ways I was initiated to do things, since they are well documented here, amongst years of blogs.
But times change and for the last several years so many things done for me have been noticed.
From comped theater tickets for the county chorale group from my FB friend Lee, which to us was a very BIG DEAL, to strangers opening doors and offering helping in so many ways.
People by nature do want to be good and helpful on the whole I have found out in life.

Sadly, it has been difficult being on the receiving end instead of the giving end.
Although, it is not too often that we have any people offering.
I believe this may be due to our isolationism in recent years,
not socializing with others as much, and perhaps my attitude has an undercurrent of resentment, about my own self that is.

You see, even when people did want to visit I was not as enthusiastic as I used to be, due to my inability to entertain like I did years ago.I did try but its sub-par, and not everyone understands why that is.We had been in the restaurant business and so we did cater then, back in the 1980's, so it was always a lot of everything when we would be serving family and friends at home too, even way back when before then back in the 1970's, as many as sixty people at our home up north. So these days when feeding just us is a rather big deal, I feel sad.
Thus a whole bunch of take out menus, but we are helping the economy, hmm?
Just know that whatever anyone does at any time does mean so much and we do appreciate it.
Although, Hubby is not as inclined to accept help as I am, and thankfully he is more able, but I do worry anyway...

Silly thoughts but timely in so many ways; tis the season.

On these notes of deep contemplation allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all the overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

New topic, okey dokey?

I kinda figured many of you are sick of my belaboring certain conversational pieces that are too specific to myself or mentioning and actually showing graphic medical issues that happen to be about me, and Geez I do understand, so for now/today,only one day only, maybe, maybe not... I have moved on...perhaps? Sure, this minute, anyway!

Way to go candidates for our presidential elections, not mine but ours, you know what I mean?!
Oh wait, there is only one and it's next week right, nope it's next year! Rushing like it was yesterday!
Gosh, the way the millions of candidates are running after each other with foul mouths exuding mean hurtful dishonest things I thought we were closer...
If insults could narrow the playing field non-toupee man would have remained in the lead, hmm?
Guess decorum does exist even in conservatism, oh is that an oxymoron? (Oops did I say that out loud?)

Any-who, go get em!
Who or is that whom, the people on the opposing side from the other side wants to run against the other ones side, got it?

Loved our Pres's commentary on the fact that none of the GOP candidates knew how to handle CNBC's panel at their last debate then how could they possibly handle any world leaders, such as Russia's or China's? Not verbatim but close, good observation Pres and right on target in my book, true, ha!

Without going into boring detail...I'm done for the night...on this other bewildering note allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night, and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS lest us not forget this IS MY BLOG WITH ME SPEAKING MY MIND AND SO IF I MUST THEN I WILL! BE AWARE AND PREPARED! Big smile here.

Not for the faint of heart or squeamish either

Update: Dog bite healing day three or four, if you count the late afternoon of Friday when it happened...As anyone can see I am using a regular, but larger band aid, and the hand injury seems to be still too open, red and slightly swollen for my liking.I just took my seventh antibiotic pill. The rule of thumb, pun intended, is for it to work within twenty-four to forty-eight hours, well? Does this look like it's working?

Animal control was here at 8:30 A.M., a bit early I think, but of course due to the rules the hospital has to inform them of any dogs bites, and we knew/know that and were there of course when they made the call. I wasn't showered or dressed yet, but Hubby was and spoke with the very young fellow who looked like a teenager actually. I yelled that Gus wasn't to be taken into custody, but they do not do that anyway! He just needed Gus's shot record, Hubby obliged, and we were told that Gus was to be kept for ten days in quarantine here at home, fine. He has had his own shots/grooming day postponed due to this latest escapade into his issued behavioral problem that I have to figure out what to do about with him being a rescue and possibly having PTSD, just like people get...love and patience has been recommended, and that is all we have been giving to him for these last ten months! Hubby admitted he too was bit but did not think it was necessary to go to the hospital...I suppose I am a wimp? Nah, in my mind the bacteria is dangerous and having proper care is very important for someone like me with too many medical issues and medications already, and getting older and pre-diabetic, so I did meet their criteria for this care of this bite.

Moving on sort of, not really...

A heartbreaking story stared back at me this morning, right on the welcome page of my laptop: Please read the link below to get-me better?

http://andyjwells.tumblr.com/post/132396235247/rejected-dog-returned-to-animal-shelter-is-now-so

It was as if it knew my battle within about what to do about Gus, it was the second time he had bitten me though, which makes my thinking a bit more clouded that is against him.
Gus is loving 99% of the time... but will I survive that one percent is the question? Look at that face!

Good question, hmm?

On that note of some hope allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

Hand wellness progress is slower than I had wanted...

...Or had hoped for.
It appears once again that being an impatient patient is not helpful and attempting to do things you feel you must...
Pain, swelling and redness is what you get!
So even with me taking the obligatory prescribed anti-biotic for forty-eight hours worth of dosing, improvement is on the slow-track, as far as I am concerned.
I called the ask-a-nurse service to ask a few questions and I was told by Patti the RN to raise it and ice it and basically stay off of it, odd no one at
the hospital told me to do that or found anywhere on my written instructions that I had been sent home with either.

Any-who, being right handed this whole situation is quite inconvenient and of course I know it is only temporary.
So today when I wanted to fold that load of wash I foolishly washed this morning and Hubby even was kind enough to toss it into the dryer when he passed by it on his way out to the garage, I couldn't figure out how to fold it without using both hands, since by afternoon it was drizzling blood again and swelling and reddish and that is why I called the ask-a-nurse. Bumhood is no fun! With me lacking ability to do so many things due to the MS this just adds to my self awareness amplified of my difficulties, sorry for that!
Guess two days isn't quite long enough to regain that small ability that we all take for granted using two hands.

Although, I am using a stylus in my righty, since for some reason I do type with both, lefty and righty that is... it is not my usual way of doing this writing thingy, meaning a stylus in one, and so this is all she wrote on this sour note, yep me for tonight, and allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Hot stuff no more!

I have always been a spicy kind of gal.
In the sense that I love jalapenos, hot sauces, curry powder, hot mustard ect. I have even been known to put jalapenos on my tuna salad sandwich and had eaten most all of them most of my adult life.
Now all of a sudden I can't eat any of them without tremendous tummy pain!
And we have plans to go to New Orleans very soon.
Boy, I was so looking forward to gumbo and all their other spicy renown dishes! And of course listening to their great music will still be fine!
What's a girl to do about the food thingy though?

Well, maybe that's not totally true about certain foods.
Tonight's dinner consisted of tame tastes of tilapia, sweet potato and cauliflower, and here I lie with also too much stomach distress.
Consequently, I am still playing detective on what might be the cause.
You see, I am on stomach medication for GERD but over the counter prescribed by my gastroenterologist years ago the equivalent of Prilosec but generic and double the dose, taken after dinner nightly. I was also told that I should take Pepcid Complete twice a day, but most days I haven't had to take it and that is a generic too, but lately...
All I can think of is how my tummy kept my figure in check as a young woman; I had chronic gastritis and ulcers in those days and stayed thin due to that, a ninety pound frame.
Maybe my tummy is doing that again?
Heaven knows I have had most all tests for anything serious, and all is good. So I will accept the omen as an adjustment in my body, since we like fashion are on seven year cycles.
Skin and organs too if I recall.
Who knows, but if so this could be just the thing I need to change my portions and speed in the way I eat, mostly all healthy choices.
Sadly though, spicy foods are supposed to increase metabolism and ward off stomach cancer and now will be no longer eaten on my personal menu.
Hopefully I have ingested enough to help with those positive effects to last...

On that note of she said what, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all yor overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
