...Heading towards the west Gulf coast of our state FLORIDA! (Where we live!)
My thoughts have to stand strong. We have not been asked to evacuate yet, and according to Hubby, we will not.
We made it through a Cat 4 without shutters or sandbags and now we have both all shutters and sandbags on except the back door which will be done last, due to the dogs needing to go out! We are not on a barrier island, we are inland on a saltwater canal, called the Elkam waterway.
The surge will be lessened when it gets here, we are nearly twenty-five miles from where it might come in...
The storm appears to be wiggling northward the further it goes north the less we will get!
I will not say pray for that since someone will get what we do not! So mixed emotions...!
Blood pressure is up with highly stressful emotions, as everyone can imagine! I have not been on blood pressure medication for nearly a dozen years... due to being diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction, too low the bottom number during a stress test!
But yesterday my top number was 195 over 66... what could that mean... Hubby has been treated with medicine for high blood pressure most of his adult life, his is hereditary, so when we both had it was recommended to buy the cuff system to check ours periodically. I did take deep breaths and calmed myself down thirty points.
I have canceled all medical appointments for this week and postponed the mitigation assessment until after the hurricane leaves...!
Allow me to introduce you to the crew...
