Who am I kidding, really?
I have been lazy since 2008!
When I systematically retired from most all things! ( Reasons seemed logical at that time, but may seem convoluted to you if I tried to explain. Okay, mini explanation: Deaths in the family and my illness.)
Not from life though per se, but a lotta things that I used to enjoy, but became not as much fun for me, many things became difficult to do.
Funny how most of us go through cycles.
Not unlike fashion that I was told as a student at LIM, Laboratory Institute of Fashion Merchandising in NYC, way back then; each cycle is about seven years. Hmm, that got me thinking 2008 + 7 = 2015. I suppose that it is about time to readjust my body clock in thinking now what I should be doing....true?
My personal experience with working with seniors that is people sixty-five plus in numerical years, just a number true; when I was a young-in in my forties the ones that lasted the longest got up, got out and did things they really, really enjoyed.
Sure now is the time to either be altruistic and give to others by volunteering, but I did do that on and off for years and years.
Selfishness is something I seem to want to do these days, since we have no grandchildren to get involved with and spoil as they should be, and we all know that no matter how much you want them, thinking about them doesn't cause them to materialize... so being a duo, self centered with Hubby of course, we should do as we please, okay?
Why not?
We are not rich, but able, thankfully to pay our bills with a cushion leftover monthly, so we have enough.
So far my pool time I cherish, as long as the weather cooperates.
But Hubby doesn't go in to the pool.
Sure he used to water ski and is SCUBA certified since 1985, yep in NJ, NAUI with our then thirteen year old Number One Son they took the course, the younger son was too young so I took him for horseback riding lessons then, he was nine years old.( He became SCUBA certified as a college student years later)
But for some reason Hubby doesn't go in anymore, neither does Number One, but our younger son does still surf which both sons started back when we first moved to the eastcoast of Florida in 1986.
So where was I?
Oh that's right, being selfish with choosing things I enjoy and maybe Hubby will like too?
We used to go to the library together, and share those books, but not recently, we both like the same local mystery authors, James W. Hall and Randy Wayne White.
We had caught up to their most recent novels and are waiting for their newer editions.
Plus we both have the ability to have books on our smarter phones now and maybe we will do that, it is more convenient.
Although, I heard it was possible to have the best of both worlds and have free library books on them too!
I should really check into that, and so should you.
Doing this nightly is a solitary joy, not one easily shared, but Hubby does read it nightly and has contributed topic ideas and pictures too.
Now I also heard that in this state of Florida at the age of sixty-five you can take college courses for free and we do have a college within ten miles from here, as well as our cultural center offering classes too, everything from music to arts and crafts, languages as well as perhaps a creative writing workshop that I took many years ago, it is only around two miles from here. All we would have to do is figure out which courses to take.
So many choices, it could take a while...ha!
On that note of once again thinking out loud, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom, and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
