Explanation

Well, the surgery center called today, not the gastro's office.
Roxie, a CNA, certified nurses aid, from there called to see how I was doing.
I told her that I had put in a call to the surgeon's office for a follow-up appointment and she said that since everything was alright I didn't need one.
Okay, I said.
But I was still wondering about the initial reasoning for the colonoscopy the blood clots and occult blood showing up on that test?
She said perhaps I should make an appointment with my internist.
Then I had the brilliant revelation to ask if it was possible for food poisoning to cause blood clots and could the ten days of Cipro perhaps have cured me?
She had me hold on and asked and then came back and said, yes!
Mystery solved!
I suppose they had to make sure it wasn't anything else causing the problem; after all I am at an age when that could happen, but it didn't, nope did not, didn't dare to, not in my nether reaches of my internal plumbing parts!
Hip Hip Hooray!

Moving on...

Hubby took our new vehicle in for its first free oil change at the dealership, it had all of 1800 miles on it already now plus the back and forth from the dealership in Punta Gorda.
And yes that's what I was doing compiling info for we are still hoping to go on a bigger trip somewhere north of here out of season with cheaper prices for hotels in the nearer future and put some major mileage on her, really!

The New England trip will have to wait a while longer; it's been ten years since we have gone anywhere away from this area.
Savannah Georgia and Charleston South Carolina are looking pretty good for us now, not too far but far enough, a trial run.
Saint Augustine Florida too, we used to spend a lot of time there when we lived in Ormond Beach, even going there by boat up the Halifax River, not far from there by boat or car and it's been years since we have been there, so that would be very nice, a lot of history there as the oldest city in America.
We even took our younger son's friend, a Swedish exchange student there for the day with all of us, and he enjoyed it too. We are such a young country compared to Scandinavia and Europe etc.

Gosh, that was way back when our boys were teens, about twenty-five years ago!
How time flies.

On that pleasant bittersweet note, allow me to be the very first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count your blessings and share your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Test results are good!

So far it looks great for my results unofficially, meaning non-doctor diagnosis, nurse statement,"no polyps or hemorrhoids!" YAY!

Still a mystery where the blood clots came from and blood in that occult test that was done at my GP's office by the PA, one too?

I was told to make a follow-up appointment, still waiting on the call back and also when I should take my night dose of aspirin again that was left blank on my follow-up instructions.

And yes, I was totally put to sleep and monitored, so I am not to drive/or use heavy machinery or make major decisions for twenty-four hours. All things I don't do anymore anyway, ha!

Oddly enough when doing the prep yesterday and it did start to work the last several discharges of internal waste burned like battery acid.
I asked the nurse this morning when I arrived and even she had no idea why that was?

Due to the  major discomfort I went into my Mommy memory of diaper rash last night and I applied zinc oxide cream (used for me as sunscreen) and corn starch (cooking soup and sauce thickener these days) accordingly, warm shower helped too! But to be honest it was the iced pack applied to my derriere that truly helped me get to sleep
Embarrassing with TMI, sorry folks, but you know me!
 Sorry Hubby!

All in all I do believe the recent news about statins and aspirins helping to prevent colon cancer that I may be that proof! I was put on both back in 2006 for high cholesterol and TIA's; still off brand use being researched, ask your doctor about it, just a suggestion.

Moving on...

Apparently, not far from where I was at the surgery center there was a major rain deluge of destructive proportions on a RV park, fortunately no one was injured but fences and some mobile structures were badly damaged, winds were heavy but rain accumulation was only about an inch or two. The temperature did lower twenty degrees during it all, even now it is only up from the sixties during it to seventy-eight degrees F, it has been mid eighties at this hour for weeks.

Our home when we arrived was fine and untouched by nature's wrath, thankfully, we are less than five miles south from the surgery center, so Hubby waited at home for me with Gus, they called him for me.The whole colonoscopy took less than thirty minutes but everything else caused it to be two hours.

We were very bad today with our choice for lunch, an every six month or so comfort food meal, two big macs, one medium fries, and two small chocolate shakes (usually we share one)that Hubby went inside for with all the rain and the drive-thru was bumper to bumper and he later reported inside it was nearly empty, good call for him!

Guilt goes along with the choice of this kind of fast food, especially when they now do have many healthier choices. But not eating all day yesterday, really, entitlement took sadly hold of that ordinarily apparently guilty me switching temporarily to a not so guilty me until my confession here.

Life goes on in spite of my bad small decisions, ha!

On that note of what a dope, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Be careful of what you wish for...

In the realm of TMI my timeline:
6:30 A.M. coffee upon rising, then club soda on off all day
9:00 A.M. lemon jello for breakfast
noon: bottle of magnesium lemon flavored citric downed
also full 16 oz. of club soda, cup of chicken broth, and lemon jello for lunch
one P.M.: (2) Dulcolax pills ingested
three P.M.: 2nd bottle of magnesium lemon flavored citric downed
three forty P.M.: still nothing happening
so call nurse and she says to call drs. office and so I did, there they call my pharmacy for additional medication while on hold with nurse in dr's office, I felt something telling me it was working and apologized and saying never mind.

The issue was they, doctor/nurse, don't say how long it should take to work and so before calling anyone I Googled it and it said anywhere from twenty minutes to three hours, WOW!
It had been 2002 when I last went through this, who remembers, truly?
My other concern was my sloth-like metabolism since then with my hefty weight gain.
To me that concern was very logical.
The tinier you are the faster things work so therefore the larger the longer it might take, true?

Any-who, I forgot how much like food poisoning this cleansing process is and I surely vividly remembered that in my very recent history!
Oddly enough that is why I am going through this due to having food poisoning and then days later having blood clots, although I was overdue for this colonoscopy test anyway.

The recommendation is to have the initial test at the age of fifty for a baseline, and then every ten years or so, I think, unless problems show up like polyps, cancer or other disorders then more often; ask your doctor. So many early detections prevent deaths of many curable cancers today.

So consequently feeling as I do for lack of a more medical appropriate terminology/word, Yucky, will have to suffice, as I lie in my bed not up for my dinner of again chicken broth and jello with club soda to wash it all down, ha. I tried the lime Gatorade earlier, but for some reason it did not stay down... what's with that?
(I did not think that made any sense and I took it for its electrolytes and the necessity for them while purging I thought.)
I suppose most all liquids that prevent dehydration are also beneficial.

Allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Last meal

Yep, that's what Hubby called it, tonight's dinner; so I chose  a Chinese smorgasbord with plenty of leftovers for him to eat or to share when I can eat again...due to...

You see, tomorrow begins the cleanse for the "surgery, procedure, test" colonoscopy on Tuesday.
No solids from morning on, all day, liquids plus the stuff that makes all solid waste exit your system starting with a bottle of liquid magnesium citrate at noon, 12P.M., next at 1P.M. 2 pills of Dulcolax, and at 3 P.M. the second bottle of magnesium citrate both of those in lemon flavored, my favorite, agh, and after midnight not a thing until after the "surgery, procedure, test" is over if you feel up to it that is. I am scheduled at ten.

My choices of beverages are tea, coffee, clear soft drinks, bouillon, consomme, and broth, Gatorade, Popsicles, Kool-Aid/Crystal light JELLO, or clear hard candies and gum, nothing in red or grape color! (Guess it could be mistaken for blood?)
I will be drinking my usual black coffee and green tea, as well as club soda, probably chicken broth, sugar free life savers and gum, lemon JELLO made tonight by Hubby who was kind enough to do that!

Posing the question to the many what would your choice be for  your last meal?
Chinese food is only one of a few I would have chose, lobster, filet Mignon, escargot and probably a few more so that my last meal would take days and days...wink, wink.
Consequently we received too many fortune cookies with our hefty order, four in all.
Hubby's were, "Don't panic." and "Everyone loves progress but nobody likes change. " Good advice for the first and sure enough for the second.
Mine were,"The joyful energy of the day will have a positive affect on you" and "Q. Why do some people have headaches? A. They never used it before."
I sure hope so, on that sage commentary, but I never heard of a cleanse doing that before, ha?
On my second one, huh? I use mine all of the time and still get headaches! Perhaps it means use it correctly? Not always I must admit on that one.

Moving on...

I did get my swim/ROM in again for an hour, actually two halves.
The last two days my sail cloth was not raised due to hefty winds, but still very warm here, even in the mornings. The pool was already up to 86 degrees F, before ten thirty A.M. and the air too was in the eighties as well, glorious!

Send love and prayers to all people in Chile and Nepal!

On that note of how much we all should take inventory of how lucky we are each day, and allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy, safe and healthy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Not supposed to rain here today, but it did.

Confirmation of this was from the local news stations as well as the weather channel.
I suppose their fancy equipment is not infallible. To be honest, it was a miniscule downpour and the sun came out immediately after but it did rain.

Is the fact that the ozone layer has thinned the reasoning behind today's horrendous deadly earthquake in Nepal or the volcano erupting in Chile in the last few days?

Is the earth refuting our foolishness in the belief that there is still time to do something to prevent the earth from disintegrating before our very eyes?

I have never been accused of being a chicken little, but every decade or so devastation happens like 2004-05 all those hurricanes and tsunamis that killed hundreds of thousands, then horrendous tornadoes in our heartland doing destruction of life and land too, over and over again in between and during all the rest?

Have we been doing this to ourselves, droughts, mudslides, and fires also?
Or is nature doing it to us?

I want to know?
Do you truly know?
Does any scientist know?
Does Al Gore know?

Each day seems to bring new horrors to this world.

I definitely believe that we are in GLOBAL WARMING, but how much is us and how much is it just happening due to Mother Nature's timing of we were due to have major earth shattering changes?

We continue to do our part by being conservationists with water and recycling and using very little gas even with our new non-gas guzzling car.
Still have rain barrels and compost.

Who has the answers?
Or are we who care too much just spitting into the wind?
Two nights of questioning is not excessive but triggered logically by the most recent horridly awful devastations of nature's (ours?) wrath!

On that note of of wonderment rampant, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all of your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

No bears no forest fires no recent alligator sightings here

In the nearly seventeen years that we have been living in this particular Florida home, our third since moving here in August of 1986 we have not had to deal with those black bears that inland people have or forest fires near our home since we are on a saltwater canal or even on the other coast across from the ocean, but oddly enough we did have one alligator show up in our canal and they are not saltwater creatures, crocodiles are.

And yes, we are still in our dry season that promotes the possibility of forest fires and as I write tonight there is one about fifteen miles from here, to the north, contained in just a few acres.

All those who do regularly deal with bears in their garbage cans I feel for them and many agencies sadly now have euthanized many of the foraging bears, due to them returning to the homes for easy meals. Quite of few have gone through screen enclosures for swims in pools or finding snacks left in lanais, one even entered a home for Easter candy. But we are the ones who have encroached on their habitats not the other way around, although now they are getting even it seems. The governmental authorities have proposed a bear hunting season due to this, just like our alligator season, removed years ago from endangered to now having too many. We have seasons for invasive snakes and lizards too. It's a jungle out there, literally! I don't know what the answer is for it is too late to stop the building in these pristine areas, since it is done already.

Sure the president was right about global warming, he visited our state for Earth Day and his concern for our everglades going under water, totally changing those natural swamplands into Atlantic Ocean waterfront. It is scary and very interesting with the years until this all might come to pass being decades even possibly centuries away, and I have no idea what we can do other than what we have been told works. Ecologically we all should be aware and Google all info we can learn from for our future generations to have what looks as if it could be lost due to this generation being bad protectors or environmentalists it seems, but we have been learning as we go.

And then again the world changes daily, nature wise, and I think about all the pre-historic information that I read in school of the earth changing without humans upon it, or before technologies and modern inventions polluted the air and water...I wonder how come the world changed naturally so many thousands of years ago, many times, could it be the way it is supposed to be, even without our negative touch/interference?
You know I just wish I could figure out why that happened without me saving water, recycling, driving less or trying to do the right thing daily, when we weren't even here...it all changed dramatically too?

Gosh I so wish I was a smarter person to help fix this future that appears to be so absolutely dark for our next generations, if only!

On this note of where is hope, I know its somewhere, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS again I did my pool thingy, another hour of ROM and I spoke with the nurse for my test next week, all done with personal info!

Repetition of a need to fill out forms...

Today the pool was just right and so I had my fill of that luxurious feeling of exercise but not knowing it was, huh, ya know?
Another hour under my belt of ROM, range of motion, exercise, for the benefit of me!

The day was interesting but bewildering since Hubby's right foot is swollen since he was stung be either a wasp or some other stinging flying insect that landed on our lawn and decided he was a tasty morsel.
Fortunately we had both generic Benadryl pills as well as actual Benadryl topical pen.
Thankfully, it has not gotten worse, but he just took his second dose.

For me my achy issues are not too bad except for my right shoulder and my tummy, but that's old news.
I do go in for my "surgery" Tuesday, but not told yet at what time. The word surgery was put in quotes since years ago it, a colonoscopy, was just considered a "test", nothing major, but now they put you in twilight sleep and I fall asleep when they do that so they call it "surgery"?
My first experience with this procedure was rather interesting back in 1989 when I was first diagnosed with IBS, irrital bowel syndrome that doctor did not put me to sleep but he let me watch instead as the camera went through my colons, big and small, fascinating really. I wonder what changed to make the whole shebang so formal and secretive? Maybe our litigious society? Who knows?
Everything is also so automated these days as we just received a computerized call from the surgery center where I will be having this "procedure, surgery, test", and they wanted me to go to their online site and fill out the pre-surgical info online or I could speak with  a nurse between 8-4PM they called at four thirty, and take 20-30 minutes speaking with her to do the same thing.
Now my issue here is they want all my doctors' names, addresses, and phone numbers, and medications, surgeries, insurance information, the usual, which I have in the computer in WORD due mainly to the quantity of them all and since that is the case I print them out and take them with me whenever I have a doctor's appointment.
In other words the doctor doing this "procedure, surgery, test" has it all than why must I keep passing/filling it out? I have consequently decided to speak with the nurse tomorrow.

According to HIPAA http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/understanding/index.html
Which basically is the privacy act that they all have access to when you ask them; to me it seems like a joke really.
The last time I was hospitalized in 2009 in a semi-private room the nurse stood up front asking me all my personal info since the computer to enter it in was there, ha! And yes there was another woman in the other bed.

I am definitely an open book with all my info, see?

Any-who, on that note of well, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all of your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Today the rain began our day!

And so I thought let's go over to our beach complex that is all encompassing facility with a boardwalk, fishing pier, sandy beach for entree to the harbor water for swimming, boat ramps, tennis, volleyball, basketball and bocce courts, heated swimming pool, pavilions for picnicking and so much more.
My idea was to walk the boardwalk there and take some dazzling pics since recently they have begun to allow dogs, excuse me correction, four legged hairy children.
But much to my chagrin the very thing we went to do was being torn up to be redone, its ribs were showing without planks!
Slightly disappointed but needing to make a stop at Walgreen's for a few over the counter supplies so we went there for hydrocortisone topical cream, generic and their brand, great for external itches, and my Refresh dry eye drops, as well as my probiotic supplements also theirs.
When we got back in the car a young man, slender blond pony-tailed late years teenager, I would guess about seventeen or eighteen, was parked right next to us in an older model silver SUV asked if we had jumper cables, and we did, so Hubby started his car for him.
He said that his car was dead and he had been sitting there for over an hour and that he had no one to call since he had had a fight with his parents and moved out of the house a month ago and was living in his car.
His phone was stolen.
I tried calling 211 for him for any info, due to that line being a direct one to the United Way thinking that perhaps they could help him with their resources, he left while I was on hold but I had told him to try the number when he got to a phone.
After Hubby and I discussed lunch and when we both decided we could make something at home since we really had no more errands or ideas where to go; we left for home.

BORING!
But I did get laundry done.
That's all she wrote for tonight  now allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS: some may be wondering why I did not go into their heated pool at the beach complex, it's twofold, I don't share this booty with anyone but Hubby and they also have a small charge for using the facility. I never have used it but I do recall it is a minimal fee, but when you have a pool of your own it does seem silly to me, okay?

"Cold pool today; going for a walk at Fishville! See ya!"

So as you can see that begun my day!
Although, if you must know the pool's temperature was eighty-two degrees as reported by Hubby, and yes for me that is too chilly;maybe not for you!

The decision to find another enjoyable exercise was mine and Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda Florida always fits the bill, being waterfront with shops and lovely views.
Another plus Gus is allowed there.
Oddly enough we thought to re-acclimate/socialize him to the world our belief is that a week day would be better than a weekend due to less crowds.
But we were wrong!
Apparently the snow-bird, people who winter here, crowd is still here!
Fortunately parking was not that bad we have a location that is a handicap space that is in an obscure  place and so it was vacant.
We arrived finally there after I got a haircut to chop all of the over processed horrible ends of my hair off, I apparently destroyed them getting back to my naturally blond hair, ha!
I love it!
Jade, the hairdresser, a young woman is new and just so happens to be hearing impaired with only 40% hearing with her aids. She had gotten a virus when born but her parents did not realize that she was deaf for years after.
Lovely woman of twenty-five who has a four and half year old son.

We made another stop before the Fishville stop and that was to Ace hardware for Hubby to return a small part.
When we finally did arrive our parking spot just so happened to be next to one of their dog walks, so Gus got to go before I did.
Then I finally did!
We stayed for about a half hour only due to our favorite restaurant there, the Fish Market, had no tables left that were good for us, too high seating was only left.

So we went back into Punta Gorda's Marion street and ate at Jack's, yep on Marion!

I had my Calypso seafood bisque soup and Caesar salad and I was a happy gal, Hubby had their roast beef sandwich which was enormous and quite impressive, PS mine was endless soup and salad for only $8.95, I did have two cups of soup but only one extremely large salad. We both had iced water with lemon. Gus was great until the manager came to chat, he was still fine for a while, but when he tried to pet him, he again went berserk, scary! No damage and the man was wonderful he too had had rescue pups and understood, but when he wanted to try again to pet him I honestly felt it was not a good idea, whew.

Odd how a child and others at Fishville had pet him without problems. Even though I was so hesitant to allow it but they were fine.
I suggested to Hubby perhaps he, Gus, was at one time scavenging for food when on his own and he would go through restaurant trash and had been chased or worse? The man might have that scent on him?
Sort of like Lady and the Tramp?

On that note of what, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Time marches on...

What causes a computer to close and erase an entire blog for no good reason what-so-ever? Oh no now this techno device is a critic too, ha?
I must have had five hundred words written for tonight about several timely topics and now I am just frustrated.
Unfortunately, I have had to go on to my old PC that I must sit at with a desk chair that even though it is padded and I had made a lumbar pillow for it, for some reason I am in much pain after composing here.
It was my small compacted laptop that erased all that I had written for your consumption tonight, oh dear.

Sadly, my heart is not in that concert of a litany of choices of love peace and happy, happy, happy I was telling hypocritically now that we should all be about in spite of the way the world seems to be on any given day, irony, hmm?

I do know that since I have been using both techno devices void of any anti-virus programs odd things have been happening, as well they should? Stephen King I need your input…sounds plausible to me another macabre story beginnings here?

But my concerns have been minimal since most all I have to save is held nicely somewhere in cyberspace thankfully or on one or more of those memory sticks, yep, 21st century I am here with you too!

Although, when it comes to writing this nightly blog I do not have the WORD program on the little guy, laptop, where I can save as I write.
Just reminded myself; as I did just now on my PC and that I am now on my WORD program and you/it has/have been saved..

It is extremely nice to know that on occasion I can continue to write no matter what upsets me, prolific or what? Don't answer if negative; sensitivity cannot seem to cope with that, ha!

The former blog of this night did discuss the brilliant teacher who posed the question/idea; “I wish my teacher knew…”

What a simple smart assignment for a teacher to come up with that has gone viral.
Perhaps now many will understand children better and why they have difficult times at times while in class.
Simplicity at its finest!
Accolades from every human being on this planet hopefully!

Secrets can make your insides hurt, ya know?

Any-who on that note of there are still some really great teachers out there, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS: Another pool day and so I did.
Rain was promised but did not arrive here.
It was overcast so the sail cloth was left down.
Correction: last night I said that the interview was Thursday I do believe it was Friday.

Instinctively doing the right thing

Doing what feels right is not always right.
But when an adult, an older adult with a past experience of dealing with similar pain as yourself and in this case being yourself, you can pleasantly and thankfully let out an enormous sigh of relief.

Sure I realized that the pains that I have been experiencing are not a matter of life and death and I have had many times before, but still very uncomfortable just the same.
And logically old problems do comeback and so that is more than likely what has been causing my troubles nightly, bursitis or my osteoarthritis as well as my herniated lumbar disc involved with my spinal stenosis there too.
Of course and so basically trying hard to not up my dosage of my Gabapentin, only as a last resort, horribly I am still on a 600 mg. dosage daily, but that is better than the 1800 mg. I was on, true?

So the ice did not work well and neither did the heat, but according to all that Hubby or I Googled those were the correct route to take for the beginning days as I did those first 48-72 hours on icing and then heat after, done, and done!
Now I am still continuing my ROM, range of motion, exercises again in the pool, smaller circles to start with both with arms and legs, reps of ten in either direction with floating in between, and rest out of the pool for a few minutes after a half an hour, but an hour in in total each day, except Thursday for that day forty-five due to the interview, now four days in total in our pool!

Only things that could stop me this time is stormy weather or rainy nights that cool the pool too much, otherwise it's a go daily!

Another nap today but not as long, and I did sleep better last night.
I did not take the heat to bed last night, instead I used it while still up for a few hours.
Perhaps I am getting better?
I sure hope so; since I believe this is getting old fast with my readership, hmm?

In the  weeks to come there will be more activity of going out and doing things; there's got to be...I'm nearly suffering from cabin fever again!

Gotta go and get out into the world!

Moving on...

On the brighter side Gus is turning into the loving pet we had hoped for.
He is listening better for most all things and jumps on our laps to kiss us and snuggle and to be scratched and tickled!
WOW!
His new hairdo has grown on us, but still does not seem to be growing too fast, and that is very good.
With his current peaceful sweet attitude who would dare want to rock that boat.
I still believe it could be four months till a haircut would be needed again.
Gosh I had to look at the calendar to verify that it has been just over a week since that nightmare of what happened occurred! (Read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from 4-10-15, here if you have forgotten.)

Times sure flies.
I think he may think that we had rescued him again, this time from the groomer, ha!

Any-who, on that note of how time does seem to help solve many problems, allow me to be the very first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Understanding?

I know that I have said this before, but I am definitely confused.
There I said it.
Nothing new there.
Scary but the problem seems to be logical if I was looking from the outside in, ya know?
Exercise is absolutely beneficial, no argument here.

So this does not explain my dilemma, that is since I have re-engaged in this helpful practice.
My issue is that in the back of my mind I continue to hear the litany adage/way of thinking/joke from Henny Youngman, for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henny_Youngman
"when it hurts when you do this, don't do that".

Alrighty now; my problem is extremely complex since when I do exercise I feel wonderful, but the rest of the day and all night long I am in excruciating pain; I ask you, then what?
I have made the comment to Hubby kidding perhaps I should sleep in the pool.
Again I was up all night with my ice packs to only fall asleep this afternoon for way too long, two and half hours plus, and awoke to more pain and in need of ice packs again.
This is driving me crazy!Okay, I know, I can hear you, kidding, that it is not that far a drive, ha again.
Anyone out there have any ideas on what to do, really?

Sorry, not your job.

I am back in my recliner with the laptop on my chest, so no WORD program to edit this, bear with me.
Although, at this moment, I am not using my ice packs, maybe I will switch for a while to heat?
Moistened washcloths in Ziplocs heated thirty second in the microwave then wrapped in hand towels.
Couldn't hurt?
But it could.
Never know till you try, oh my, then let me say good-bye!

On that note of a plan, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

On occasion speaking my mind has been...

Validating, that is in the sense of being able to inform and correct, not in a mean way but when even our trusted well researched journalists/anchors make a little boo boo with their info in others telling them discreetly that they did.

Last night on our local affiliate station of NBC-2 out of Fort Myers Florida had an item on mosquito eater fish, known by this name Gambusia affinis : for more info goto: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosquitofish
Although they credited Sarasota County’s extension for informing them of this natural way of mosquito control in your own backyard pond, and it was herald as presumably a new concept I took issue.

So I contacted one of the co-anchors that I knew a tiny bit from Facebook contact and messaged her, Kellie Burns.
She was quite receptive to my information about the fish being available in Charlotte County for over a decade, since we personally have had them since before Hurricane Charley when we first put our pond in back in 2003.
At that time it was a fiberglass free form pond purchased at Home Depot, and our fish were from the pet shop, actually feeder goldfish for reptiles, but my cousin said they would grow very large in an outdoor pool and assimilate quite well, and so they did!
Many of ours lived for several years and grew to one to two feet long, yep goldfish!
And so when the hurricane happened and our giant oak tree fell over them and basically protected them when all was said and done Hubby gave them a much larger habitat of eleven hundred gallons and of course we needed more mosquito eaters and again they were delivered for free!

So being told this little saga Kellie admitted that she did not know this and asked if a reporter could call me and he did, Tim Wronka a new young fellow who was taking over Chris Gilmore’s Port Charlotte beat, but they both came with cameras to interview Hubby at our pond, a less than two minute segment, perhaps a minute, but Hubby had been interviewed many times before as I had. Him when he was in community policing and as a marine patrol officer and me when in volunteer work and promotion.
But I let him take this onair one since being so fat these days and with my walker for my MS and all I am too self conscience; I know silly!

My issue is that I do not approve of me as is these days and I do not need to hear others comments of perhaps others thinking out loud or under their breaths of my own fears realized.

So Hubby did a fine job and now all of Charlotte County the new people as well as some of the older ones are aware that these tiny fish can help keep the mosquito population down during this up coming rainy season in their own fountains and ponds and beyond!

Moving on…

Another pool day, but not as long, about forty-five minutes, since the fellows were coming around noon for the interview and I wanted to be all showered and dressed way before then and I made it!

On that note of it’s usually the how you tell it that has to be dealt with, and I suppose this time I was not too harsh so it was accepted and investigated further. Any-who, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

The answer to pain is in this refrain...

Children come in close and listen to this one and this is the only time that I will divulge what makes most all pain diminish without the use of drugs or mind control or even meditation, but those things work too… but nah this is a really, really, good way to say au revoir to those nasty irritating malicious insidious achy ouchies!

  EXERCISE!
Yes that is the answer to nearly everything from arthritis to multiple sclerosis and much, much more!
You see, it helps those endorphins kick in to deal with the pain.

What are endorphins you might ask and here it is in a nutshell:
Endorphins 101: A Guide to Natural Euphoria

Endorphins are natural opium-like hormones that are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus of your body. Endorphins act on your brain’s opiate receptors to block their ability to receive pain messages from the sensory nerves”

And so as many must know and what I have known for years, but at times my body reacts badly to this supposed cure all, and that is why I have learned what or which exercise is best for me at any given time that I am having my pain.
Gosh, that is another four letter word, P-A-I-N, for shame (that too)!
And yet too many of us use it, feel it, and discuss it indiscriminately and sadly way too often. I know I know I am the biggest BABY of all! OH dear, baby is a four letter word and so is dear, Geez, not all four letter words are bad…and this is very true, there’s another! Will it ever end, two more, wait three, make that oh no, five, no six, whew, no seven, 27!
Okay back to my type of exercise, see not a four letter word, and okay, it’s a should do kind of word and a directive one for all to utilized with a flourish, true?

The forms of exercise for any beginner is walking, bicycling, or swimming, or if possible ROM, range of motion in pool exercise at an optimum temperature of 85F is preferred, usually called Aquacize (I was a certified instructor and taught for four years), too hot is dangerous for people with high blood pressure and heart disease and too cold is not very comfortable for most. Too hot or cold with MS can cause spasms so that is another good reason to watch those temps.
So when Hubby informed me that our swimming pool had met the criteria of my needs I dipped into that pleasurable all encompassing warmth but not too warm just a pleasant refresh-ness of ours, the pool. First day that it was 86 degrees Fahrenheit, perfection, and I spent an hour, Hubby had to remind me to take a break!
Delish and quite healing, my hands and shoulders were miraculously feeling well in no time at all!
Ta Da!
So I can with all good feelings inside of me highly recommend this form of EXERCISE for most all, nah make that all!

Florida, has been heating up a bit too early this year, with many days since March already in the high eighties to low nineties, but a good reason to use your backyard swimming pool!
The sun is quite bright so we do use our sail cloth that fits beautifully over the pool and allows me to be in the pool without fear of being burnt to a crisp. I also enjoy the pool in the morning hours when it is slightly cooler, but not the water, it is just right!

On that note of finding the right fit for your exercise routine with good luck hope from me, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be there of be square, ya hear!

Caveat here: and disclaimer; after working out in ROM for only an hour I did feel much, much better, but since then I have been doing a wee bit too much since then and of course I must continue three to more days a week to have a true lasting effect, but that nasty four letter word is back and magically I will need to be diligent in repeating the process for me daily of exercise!

THEY'RE GONE! Don't get too excited it's not taxes...sorry!

The bogus charges!
And now we have been informed that our new cards shall be here soon.

I suppose my speaking my mind here on occasion might be too detailed with personal issues, and I do wonder if I may have been partially responsible for this happening, i.e. our credit account being compromised...but nah!

You see, my reasoning has to do with it happening to so many others who do not nightly tell the world about what goes on in their lives, and that is an enormous whew and realistic understanding of that!

We are all vulnerable and it could happen to anyone and we all know that one since on the news we are informed nightly that it does and can happen to any of us and all we can do if it does happen and we find out in a timely fashion is to shut down any accounts involved and start anew... that is unless these vulgar idiots steal your identity as well!
Okay, so they cannot be idiots because they are way too astute computer/technology hackers and for that most part are more than likely probably in the upper ends of geniuses, but soulless, greedy and without conscience.

What can we do to not become victims?
Well, we had thought our newer computer chip cards were inborn deterrents but those were the ones that were ruined, and sadly we had just received them a few weeks before dated till 2018; the evil doers had acted very quickly!
Eventually, all will just have their eyes scanned for I.D. for verification, like in some government installations, or is that just on TV and movies?
We also could be armed with computer informational chips inserted under our skin like with our family pets, and some ways to handle missing severely compromised mentally ill people who wander.
At least we will have a choice most of us?
But who’s to say that could not be hacked as well, so I will Google as you should too.
Here are a few sites that might be helpful: http://www.techrepublic.com/article/10-ways-to-avoid-being-the-victim-of-identity-theft/
http://www.justice.gov/criminal/fraud/websites/idtheft.html
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-siciliano/10-ways-to-help-protect-y_b_5305383.html
These are just a few; don’t be like me thinking you are safe since being aware is not the only answer, taking practical steps to be safer as we find out later just might be too late!

 Moving on…

I am still not right, stop that!
I know that you all think that, but I mean my darn shoulders and hands too.

The last few nights I have been quite a sight with an ice pack on each shoulder and a larger one on my tummy for my hands and wrists to rest on…and my eyes have been blurry too, not ON, optic neuritis, please and me with two fairly new cataract lens implants, one in each; hope I am NOT in an exacerbation of my MS…with me postponing my neuro appointment until June due mostly to my tummy issues and ridiculous co-pay for specialists of $65, waiting for my Medicare with supplement when that goes down to 0…

Would serve me right, but as we all know those with any chronic ailment stress can cause a flair, and perhaps that is what is happening… oh well, must de-stress and go rest…

Now I will be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Hello, is this...?

Why yes it is.

“This is Jessica with The Assistance Fund and I am trying to find out if you knew why we haven’t been billed for your co-pay of your Copaxone since September of 2014?”

I said, “oh no!

Does that mean I owe all that money? (I did quick math in my head and came up with $1050!)

But wait someone has to have been paying since my bills have been zeroed out.”

Not verbatim but pretty close.

So Jessica asked me who my provider of my Copaxone is, the pharmacy that is.

I told her CVS, and so she called, but apparently she did not realize that it was CVS Specialty division due to it being an injectable and so after a confusing conversation with a person asking me numbers that I had none of, she surmised with my insistence that I did not need any of the numbers she asked me for to order my medication and that we meant to speak with the CVS SPECIALTY division of their company, whoa!

Talk about a Gracie Allen moment; oh wait more info for those under sixty about a delightfully funny woman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gracie_Allen

So we figured out by the billing department finally getting in on this three way, oh stop, three way phone conversation that Shared Solutions part of TEVA the manufacturer/pharmaceutical company that makes Copaxone had been paying since October, TEVA that is, thank you very much… but why and how come?

I had met the criteria to continue with the Assistance Fund and the woman Jessica said that when I go on to Medicare they will pick it up again since TEVA will not.

Okay, but the fact that I had no idea that this was going on was a wee bit unsettling.

So I called Shared Solutions and asked to speak to anyone who might know what had happened and an Aussie fellow named Wayne who happened to be in Indiana, yep, he told me that when I had called on October 6th of last year that I had authorized the change…I did not remember, and this was again quite unsettling,…so I was put through to their  billing/Medicare department and Chastity there said that she could help me with Part D, which is the $20.60 a month Silver Script plan that will cover my seven prescriptions including the Copaxone, except the co-pays. I said that I thought that Colonial Penn was doing that, but I wasn’t sure.

So next I put a call into Alison our rep with Colonial Penn and she wasn’t available but I spoke with her partner Jane and Jane reassured me they take care of that too.

So I called back Chastity, and thanked her and told her what I had been told by Jane.

She said that if the Assistance Fund runs out of money being a non-profit and all to call her back and she could find me someone else to pay the co-pay for me, which by then will be four times as much. I thanked her again, but also told her that Jessica left me with the feeling/impression that it would not be a problem for them and that all I had to do was call them and they would be there to pay my co-pay.

So many good nice helpful people, how wonderful is that, hmm?

On that more pleasant note, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you all to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Another two weeks

Anticipation of answers when all medical persons determine that certain tests are called for, and so even though all symptoms have thankfully diminished I will be having my colonoscopy in two weeks.

As dreaded as the test is by all human beings, mostly due to the preparation process of ingesting cleansing medications to basically clean out your large and small intestines for a camera like object to enter from whence the waste comes out.

Uncomfortable?
The prep is but the actual test is not since they give you twilight medication to not feel a thing.
See how the whole thing left an embedded impression on me from well over having it a decade ago, and the fact that I received the paperwork of what to do again today and it all appears to be quite straight forward and not dissimilar from all those years ago.
I do believe that it is recommended for all over fifty, unless symptoms have caused a necessity for an earlier exam.

For more info goto: http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/colonoscopy-overvie w

Oddly enough last night I did not sleep at all well and was up for hours and so although we ran errands after and picked up lunch from the Firehouse restaurant to eat at home I was pooped, clarification tired! (Due to previous topic, ha!)
To be honest once in the car I did not get out again, Hubby did.
First stop was to the bank for a cash tip for Gus's groomer; they don't allow credit card tips. And they had sent Gus home with the lead from his groomer's ordeal, since he was not cooperative I think they were a bit fearful to remove it once he was awake.

Next stop was to return that cute large ball dog toy that you may have seen in an infomercial. It supposedly helps dogs with separation anxiety since it rolls around lets out giggles.
We did try it with him last Wednesday when he had come home from that first try for grooming but it was too exhausting for him with him never letting up on it and barking and rolling for nearly an hour, or it at least seemed like that, but we didn't actually time it out, definitely too much non-stop behavior of semi-enthusiasm alternating with aggression, and so it was returned to Bed Bath and Beyond with receipt intact for our new account number to receive, we hope.

I did not call the bank again this morning and our two bogus charges were still there but no others, it will take a few days.
The rewards I had cashed in were deposited into our other account though, which was reassuring in some familiar way.

So on that note of moving along yet slower, sorer and a bit sleepier, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

Writing IS considered an art form

So I suppose I am in some arenas considered an artist?
Wait, I really shouldn't get so full of myself, after all what I DO isn't necessarily writing as an art, huh?
I write hack worthy crap that is narcissistic in some dimension of thoughtful thinkers’ considerations, true?
Telling the world nightly what I have been doing as if anyone else should or would care or about anyone else in my tiny world, and let's not forget MY OPINIONS about topics that I have NO credentials to speak about and therefore that I have no right to express publicly except because I am an American loudmouth!
Good grief! That was harsh even for me for me, about me!
I think.

So logically what is a true creative, journalist or technical person who has the ability to write to inform, entertain or teach?

I believe it is anyone who is willing to do research, or imagine or learn too and pass that all on to others to share.
Whoa! I think maybe, I could be wrong or even right this time, perhaps I am an artist in the sense or form of what many call a writer?
Geez wouldn't it be loverly? (Word creation this time can be blamed on song: http://www.metrolyrics.com/wouldnt-it-be-loverly-lyrics-my-fair-lady.html )

Moving on...

I was wrong since when I checked on our credit card account this morning we had another bogus charge from another company! The one I found yesterday was still there too!
So I called several of the numbers listed until I got a human, who stated that she could not do anything since the proper department was closed!
It does say 24/7 on our cards and even online it says 8-5 on Sunday, which in actuality that does not make their service 24/7.
Oddly enough I did receive a phone call from their fraud division this afternoon and the woman kept saying good morning?
She said that our current card has indeed been compromised and has been stopped and that we should receive new cards this week that were sent out yesterday!
Each story that we have been told is different.
The long and short of it all is that it was one of those major infiltrations we all hear about in the news from a major department store where we must have used it, not unlike the Target debacle of a year ago Christmas time.
So Hubby cut up my card as recommended since they will not be any good and according to what I saw on our account online the number is totally different, again that was a scary clue.

I don't know about you but this is quite unsettling. Hubby saved his card only due to having that number for making sure it is fixed.
Interestingly enough I did cash in our rewards this morning and had them entered into our checking as usual.
So we will be using our other little used card for our needs until this is all done and fixed.
And you bet that first thing tomorrow I will be online and on the phone to check and see what exactly is being done, you absolutely can bet on that!

I truly hope that our little dramas of true life issues is not at all boring to any of you and that perhaps with my publishing of any of these things is only helpful when most all finally do get resolved.
And so on that note of if only things went smoothly daily, ha, and probably very boring, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
