As Hubby goes out to complete his nightly routine of watering our plants and baby transplants...

I told him of my thoughts with doing that, to think of the floras as if they were small children that need nurturing and love, and suggested talking to them…( He stared at me oddly with that comment; I suppose I never told him that I did that)
That always helped me when I used to do it…GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER! That is watering our plants.
Way back in the nineteen seventies, way up in good ole NJ I had thirty-three houseplants and our home was on over a half acre of land that I had plantings all around our home there, the one we had built in 1978-1979, a five bedroom three bath bi-level. I had planted a three tier bulb garden way back on the property, vegetables closer in, and even cactus garden around the patio, yep they survived outside over our frosty winters, and the normal Rhododendrons, Azaleas and evergreens on either side of our front door, even a privet hedge to hide a chain link fence on the side and inside of that was the climbing rose garden, etc… I had planted blue grass seeds in the front yard and side yard while the other side had our double driveway for the two car garage and Zoysia plugs were dug into the backyard with a handy step-on device if I recall. Hubby in those days was the irrigation specialist and we even had a rain gage, then, since that was our business irrigation on our Artesian well and we even sold rain gages, actually that was back in the 1980’s .Hubby also was the mower of the lawns, until our sons took over years later.
Yep, I was the one who fertilized and planted the crops, so to speak, even when we lived in our townhouse condo in that small yard from 1972-1978, before that we were renters for nearly two years in a basement apartment…with only a couple of house plants at that time…Ah memories…

PS Hubby uses the water out of our rain barrels here, which are still quite full, in spite of the fact that it hasn’t rained much in the last week. Of course, if it had he wouldn’t have to water! But you knew that.

Moving on… We are hearing from our NBC Meteorologist Robert Van Winkle that there is a small tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean that won’t be anywhere near us until well into next week… I will keep you posted if it should develop in to Ernesto by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Olympic news a few scandals are surfacing read more by Googling them… Sadly, just the thought of that makes me want to cry foul… at least none of them were Americans, and for that it makes me feel a wee bit better.

On that note of note allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to refrain from watching too much Olympic events while at work. I understand your interest of the competitions, but remember that jobs are as scarce as the honestly won gold medals are, so protect what you’ve got with your attention to it… and then kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
