Went on over to do something for the good today...

And it, as one could well expect was fulfilling and makes your heart sing to think that thing that everyone gives lip service to, about making a difference and that you can actually make it happen!

Being a do good-er is something to strive for in life and as we all know that we can often be on the other side of that the one needing that help ourselves, and so whenever possible turn that around to help others when able, even if not totally able yourself little things are possible. I'm proof of that!
We all need to know what that feels like to be on the giving end… sure working with a group for a worthy cause or offering to help the military, or an illness that tugs at your heart, etc… are all reasons to chip in physically or monetarily.
The reward is the hug from the person that you help that says thanks in volumes!

Today I went into the free clinic to help with finding those all too elusive medications that most cannot afford without taking out a loan that they may no longer qualify for and all those people who maxed out their insurance prescription coverage for long term illnesses or those with no insurance at all.

The reward is finding the pharmaceutical company that they meet the criteria for, and the molds are all unique to each one of them, that is the drug companies, no uniformity at all.

But there is usually one or more with programs that carry the medications for those people who without them will more than likely die from illnesses that can be maintained with proper medication dosing.

The patients today were two, one needed three medications, which two were found and accessed immediately, while one was not easily accessible. In fact I did continue on the search of the manufacturer when I got home, and I found three in the generic form for this serious medication for tumors.

The second one was for a person that only needed one prescription and that person got it all signed properly while we were still there so it could be faxed to where it had to go to; nice to know that one was on its way.
Many have to go snail mail.

Before I left, my trainer told me that we would be working again next week with a couple of more patients. Geez, I think I am liking this!
It is only for about four hours in total, once a week but providing a service that in this economy and is definitely something this community really needs.
That alone is so rewarding to know.

It sure feels good to be back in the saddle again… figuratively speaking of course!

Sleep, last night, was the norm of getting up for the usual.
But I did stay there, not counting those mini interruptions, until nearly seven A.M. that’s a good thing I suspect.

I am blissfully tired now, and I still have hours of awake time to deal with… sure I will for I am destined to watch that mindless entertainment I so enjoy on the boob tube…why it’s Thursday, and I am so looking forward to The Big Bang Theory and now Two and a Half Men, has been moved to right after it oh how lucky can one get…

On that TMI and a bit of silliness, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
