Some companies are controversial just by the nature of where they do business, but...

That said, I felt the need to highlight one of those on the block companies that I found mixed emotions about, since their care and concern for a customer was done with class!
Here is my communication with this company that I felt was above and beyond what many others would do…admirable I do believe, but that’s just me, what do I know…don’t answer that!
As you can see their customer service is out of Illinois in these United States of America!
I know another outsourced product, but read this with an open mind, please…

From me:
To whom it may concern:

We, my husband and I, bought two of your wine glasses and were wondering; since they are from China do they contain lead? They were purchased at Publix in Port Charlotte Florida.

Concerned.

We are in our sixties and enjoy wine but with my Multiple Sclerosis, and that is also why this is printed so large I am blind in one eye. And so, I tend to drop things too and Lucite or plastic are lighter and less likely to break and so that is why we purchased your pretty glasses, but after noticing the embellished label, I asked at the grocery clerk, but she did not know and told us to contact you by your additional labeling which made it very easy!

Thanking you in advance for any information concerning this matter...

Sincerely,
Me
Port Charlotte Florida

“Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your questions and concerns about one of our products. Although the glasses are made in China for us, it is under close supervision at all times. All of the resins we use in the production of our products have been FDA approved for food contact. They contain no Bisphenol A or BPA or lead nor have they ever. Your concerns regarding the plastic used in our products are certainly valid. All of our products are categorized as “Long Service Life” and, therefore, are environmentally sustainable. All of our products are made of food safe materials and colorants. We voluntarily mark our products with Society of Plastics Industry identification recycling symbols.

All of us at Arrow Plastic work very hard to manufacture and distribute safe, reliable products since, like you, we too are consumers. We insist that the products we manufacture be only of the highest quality and usable for the purpose intended and to never pose a danger or threat to our consumers. In addition, we continue to randomly test our products to ensure their safety.

We thank you for your support of our products and look forward to having you as a valued consumer for many years to come. Please feel free to contact us at any time if we may be of further assistance.

In closing posting/publishing this letter more than likely will or should spur some definite discussion on finding a happy medium with all that we have split with other countries. And I mean not the ones that left totally, the ones who still have people working here but produce products over seas.
And perhaps make us try to understand why we Americans have so much to lose with them taking our factory jobs from us in many states. I know that my next question may incense many, but do we ever think that the greed of being paid such high hourly wages could be part of our own manufacturing’s demise, really? And that need to have more, actually has caused us all to not think clearly on why companies took their segments of production elsewhere, not just because it was cheaper but because our neediness never ever seems to be fed or ends.
I am usually the first to buy made in America products and that is why I question others when on that rare occasion that I do buy from elsewhere.
But we as a nation got ourselves into big trouble with trying so hard to have it all, when we seemed to never ever know when enough is enough or just right.
Economically, we know that we are as responsible for what has occurred as the men or women that we voted on to put in office… I am just saying that if we want to blame anyone we should start by examining our own ways of doing things, starting with spending money that many do not have…using other peoples or credit…
On that self examination, which is why we live within our means or below, fear of what has happened has made us more than cautious as we all should be…
But still things can change for us in a split minute like most everyone else!
Scary!
On that knowing I probably said too much as usual, nothing new here, allow me to get back to what is important in life and free, that is being the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
