Intertwining

Faiths have stories to be told that are reasoning’s of how they came about…And such are the cases of Passover and Easter, which are because of one another or due to each other is one way of thinking, but neither Christians or Jews will admit the connection in some very strict sects, but not such tight sects have realized the connection of the two.
You can Google and Bing until you find the answers you want but if you just do what I did, and that is this, just ask the magic techno eight ball search, “What is the connection between Easter and Passover?”, and you will be amazed at what comes up!
It is a ‘small world after all’; Disney had that right, ha!
Love of all people is what I wish for at any holiday actually at any time and recognition of each and everyone’s individual celebration always.
Why under our own roof we, Hubby and I grew up celebrating one of each of the aforementioned holidays and so that is why I feel the need to make others understand that we are now not so different.

Oy vey, let me just say that on this first night of Passover we ate a pizza for dinner, and this Easter Sunday two days from now, still no actual Seder but a brisket with all the trimmings, one year it was lamb and some years it has been, dare I say; a ham?
Yes, we are a diverse family with all that goes with that.
Open mindedness and joy from sharing customs and traditions and not disparaging each others ideas of what should be; unity.

When our boys were small we colored Easter eggs and hunted for them too, and had baskets filled to the brim with marsh mellow peeps, jelly beans and chocolate etc… I think for me being of my faith and Hubby being of his we enjoyed trying out each others that we missed as children or just shared with our friends and neighbors or relatives…

Times change and we move on…

This morning I took a slight offense that our local NBC affiliate had not mentioned Happy Passover to their Jewish friends and so I wrote to their comments department, three times! Why you may ask, ok, maybe not… but here is the reason why. 1. “To whom it may concer:

Please tell me that I just missed it that you have wished your Jewish friends, this weekend a Happy Passover. I have not heard it myself, which concerns me.”

2. “You are not aware of my perception being slighty off due to being blind in one eye, so sorry for my mispelling of a common word.”

3. “Now this is downright ridiculous! Spelling the word 'misspelling' wrong! LOL, sorry and please forgive!”

Now, I see that I also misspelled the word slightly, besides concern, oh well and that does make me look really stupid dealing with a news station, hmm?

In the end, though, instead of emailing back they had a lovely segment at noon presented by one of their news reporters, Leigh Dana, about Passover and Seders too!
And since the non-mention this morning at all the other airings they have included mentioning Passover when mentioning Easter, thank you NBC-2 in Fort Myers for that!
The message should be all encompassing, true? All the local chambers want to continue making our area desirable for all peoples…

This blog tonight was going to be a comparison of the two holidays but that is for you all to decide, since I would never presume for you or me to believe other than what is what in our teachings of our growing into the adults that we have become.

Our number one son called earlier and stated that the schools in their area, Tampa, call it spring time without any religious affiliation, who knows if that, is a good thing.
These are public schools not religious ones and so I do suppose it is separation of church and state to that degree.

I do know that if I go any further I will be opening a can of worms about prayers in school and all that and so I will stop here… PS we did pray when I was in school and I am still rather an open-minded gal in spite of that, ha!
So I rest my case there.

In the long run my message tonight is for all my Jewish friends and relatives to have a Happy Passover and for Hubby and relatives to have a Happy Easter, nah this is too confusing dividing it up like this…HAPPY PASSOVEREASTER to all and to all a very good night!

And kindly count all your blessings and share your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Update: I also heard from my ole chum who was by her Mom’s side at the hospital on day eleven and only more tests and still no surgery. They are in wait and see mode for deliberations while she is medicated with blood thinners and defibrillating drugs to sustain her. Ole chum even put her dear ole sweet Mom on the line and we went on a short trip down memory lane… it was nice and she did sound good. As my dear ole Dad used to say when someone was nice and special too, that they were really something and so I told her that! They knew my Dad and ole chum said so was my Dad!
