Paradise

I suppose that I have been amiss in not mentioning how the weather in our glorious part of the world has been too much of heading towards perfection to point out due to the horrendous weather in the other parts of our country. And honestly who needs to hear what we have to say when they were all getting too much snow or treacherous conditions all over the place, all but must I say… oh YEAH, here in paradise.
Gosh, haven’t I said over and over again that you should all come down here?
The offer is still good till… indefinitely!
I do try not to gush too much about all of this, beauty surrounding us. (I was spreading my opened hands around the area towards our windows looking out to our backyard.)
And we even received just a splash of rain water yesterday to help with the rain barrels being refilled and so the crops and flowers can retain their beauty.
Ain’t nature great?
And here in our part of the world the name of our game is enjoying what we got!
Today was a day for anything your heart desires to do outside since with those moderate temperatures in the low eighties, which also had, once again, very low humidity with just a slight breeze, just enough to maintain comfort.

Moving on…
Hubby dug up our front yard due to our house pipe that was an old, circa 1958, nasty galvanized one and corroded causing sediment and heaven knows what else to come into our home via our city water system.
It was about a forty foot dig and the new piping is 3/4” PVC not likely to corrode again.
Also he installed a whole house filter that eventually should stop the need to buy bottled water and to become very green like we profess to be in so many other ways with our veggie garden and cut wild flower garden, composting, rain barrels and recycling.
Our city water which is always tested yearly and comes back healthy for human consumption, but it has always made me ill and so I couldn’t drink it thus the bottled water. At one time I used to boil it though and that became way too time consuming and I would forget, and then we even had one of those pitchers with the built in filters too but those filters cost more than my cases of bottled water at Sam’s Club did and lasted about the same amount of time, got it?
Whole project took two days, actually it will be three tomorrow finishing with covering the hole, due to Hubby having to rest because of his back problems and cost only about $66!
And hopefully it will solve many problems water wise, since we also may have had a leak there too causing ungodly water bills for two people.

Dinner tonight was a pre Mardi gras type meal with spicy sausage and shrimp, brown rice and stewed tomatoes, celery, onions green and also the yellow variety, garlic, bay leaf, dried oregano, chili spice, chicken bouillon etc. healthy, all done on top of the stove, and mmm, mmm good!
The recipe calls for red bell peppers but Hubby can’t eat them and I like things spicy so I topped mine with the hot pepper flakes, you know the ones that the pizzas parlors have?
That was just the right topper for mine and Hubby loved his too.

On that days conformation of keeping productively busy… at least Hubby, and its not like I didn’t look but I am all caught up with my chores so I basically had the day off for reading magazines watching the boob tube and playing my game online, dominoes.
Of course I did my usual exercise plan and making beds and straightening and making meals as all of us do, but does that even count when you’re an at home bum?
Do me a favor and don’t answer that, I can’t hear you anyway!

On that silly note of reality I would like to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to all kindly count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And please next time be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Two updates: the IRS has written back to let us know that they are backed up with all they have to do and that they will get back to us in an additional forty-five days with an answer on what to do, but if we want we could start to pay them off now…we opted to wait for a definitive answer since it was their mistake…no surprise, huh?
And the second one is that our homeowners and flood insurances are now down to a practical amount for the value of our home’s replacement if disaster should strike and we will be paying… wait for it… two dollars less each month than what we were! TA DA!
