Stop the Meet the Presses

General Collin Powell, retired, announced today on Meet The Press to Tom Brokaw, as well as us viewers that for many very good intellectual and logical reasons why he is crossing Republican party and friendship lines and voting for Senator Barack Obama for president and not his friend of 25 years, Senator John McCain.
Susan Eisenhower also broke with her Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower's, her grandfather's party and will also be voting for the right American, as she stated of Senator Barack Obama, and was found campaigning for him here in Florida today.

The fact that one of the many reasons that General Powell stated was that Senator Obama was consistent on his stated ways in handling the economic crisis while Senator McCain was erratic and changed his choices several times in how to handle it. And also Senator McCain’s choice for vice president, Governor Palin was not ready to take over while Senator Obama’s choice, Senator Biden does look presidential. Also demeanor was important too, and intellect and he felt that Senator Obama fit the bill on both criteria.

Personally, I have always liked General Powell and had said years ago that he would have made an excellent president himself, but chose not to run since he is a better husband than politician, his wife didn’t want him to. And to be honest that only made him more desirable for the job in my mind, decent man. And I have to admit I respect his opinion and judgment.

In conclusion I truly believe that the Obama/ Biden team is looking very good for the win. But don’t worry about McCain/ Palin team, or at least for Governor Sarah Palin since when her term ends for governor I think that she could either be Tina Fey’s stunt double or Loren Michaels might ask her to fill in at SNL when Tina’s off doing her Emmy award winning show, 30 Rock; after all Tina Fey has just been doing a cameo appearance to help out, since she seems to be missing her twin who is in reality 6 years her senior. Far as senator McCain goes though… I’m sure he’ll find something to do on Letterman since they reconciled.

The book, Audition by Barbara Walter, is still not finished but moving along very well, hard to stop reading, it’s nearly 600 pages, and I only have a little over 100 to go, and I do recommend it highly if you haven’t read it yet. I was 35th on the library waiting list.

As many may have read previously that years ago, and occasionally in my recent past I did buy books, but two things have happened over the years they have become much more expensive and I have a much smaller home so no room for storing them. The library works fine, but the wait is usually fairly long for new releases, and that is the only problem.

Good night to all and to all think as carefully as people who we respect in their opinions.
