Is one of the ways that can be used to describe a person’s character by this or that in the sense that how they act in tight situations; it is defining.
If anyone has become backed into a corner and had to make a decision on their way out of handling that sticky problem with smart choices would therefore be considered the right alternative and positive behavior.
And so when someone does something in spite of or because they are not happy with another’s behavior than that is quite defining too and I would go as far as saying not too good, huh?
It’s a daily thing with most of us living our lives, those choices…
Bad or good some would say everything in life is either that or black and white; too simple I ask where is the gray?
I seem to always see the gray.
Except when it comes to telling the truth in life that for some reason I am stuck in needing to be around honest truthful people…
And when anyone takes advantage of my trust by lying I go berserk!
Does anyone else?
Some people believe not telling the truth or all the truth unless asked specifically that it is not a lie, got that?
Here’s a hypothetical problem for you all… Someone you know when asked if they smokes cigarettes says no, and then weeks later when again confronted due to an odor of smoke emanating from them admits to smoking only cigars!
Is that considered lying?
You see here is where I am confused.
Are partial truths lying or not?
Any-who, to me it is always disturbing to not be able to trust someone who does not have a clear cut objective of knowing the difference between what is true or not, got that?
Some say it is a flaw of inheritance; another question of nature over nurture.
Others would say more the latter and that would be if they see a parent lying and getting away with it then they think they can too?
Hmmm, I would have to think back hard to try to remember all those years ago when my sons were small if I ever was that blatantly dishonest in front of them or even behind their backs. And I am coming up empty, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t do it. I really hope that I didn’t.
Now I suppose I can see that gray with lying too.
Many don’t realize when doing such a thing how its ramifications may affect others, really?
Hibernating to come through perhaps years later, oh I don’t know but it still hurts when you catch someone you care about in a lie!
This lying to protect thingy gets me the most confused.
Doesn’t the bible say the truth will set you free?
Well, that’s rather hypocritical of someone who hasn’t picked up a bible in I don’t know how many years like myself!
You see that?
I am the one who is guilty of too much information, not too little!
It must seem to most people as if I am always confessing, huh?
I may be for fear of something dreadful going to happen if I don’t tell the truth and to everyone, wow that’s scary!
But that would explain a lot of this exposé that I try not to leave anything out that might be relevant for the Almighty’s wrath coming down on me, I guess I am not that Agnostic after all, ha.
That would prove to be something most definitely defining of my own character, huh?
A preponderance of an idea for us all to think about when we regain that time we are always running out of, well isn't it worthy of your reflection, but that’s me TMI Tobi?
On that note of a challenge to all of you to try to be first honest with yourselves and then with everyone you care about and so now I will wish you all a very happy good night and to all count those blessings and please share those overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, OK?
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.

Warning!
Tonight before I am going to get started with my usual drivel I want to bring to the attention of all who use Triad Alcohol Prep Pads, Alcohol Swabs and Alcohol Swabsticks they have all been recalled due to POTENTIAL MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION!
The FDA: just copy and paste the site below for exact information:
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/SafetyInformation/SafetyAlertsforHumanMedicalProducts/ucm239319.htm
Here in the USA the FDA recommends returning them to where they were purchased and of course, do not use them!
Teva says do not throw them out; save them! For anyone who doesn’t know who Teva is it is the manufacturer of Copaxone and they will be contacting all people involved shortly to tell you what to do with them. And you should substitute Isopropyl alcohol from the bottle on cotton balls or swabs instead for your personal use.
Moving on…
We must all be aware of anything that has a possibility of causing a severe problem apparently this microbial contamination would be showing up by not allowing a wound to heal. I suggest going to the Mayo Clinic site for accurate information just copy and paste: mayoclinic.com
Since inquiring minds need to know.
Any-who, we did get out on Thursday, I know that is days ago, but so much else has been going on…We had a very nice short outing to get my hair cut at that place I mentioned last time called First Impressions in Port Charlotte across route 41 from the Publix we go to and this time I did not get the blow dry and saved ten additional bucks but still got a great haircut! Then I miraculously walked with my walker, but I did have to rest on my walker seat from there to the Tai restaurant just around the corner from the salon in the same strip mall, and made it there. I mentioned it a while back too, their best deal is for lunch ours was delish once again. It had been months since we had been there and they are not open on Sundays and we tried another week day and there had been a death in their family if you all recall I had mentioned it in this blog and so they were closed. After that I thought we should go over to the Cultural Center thinking they might have something exciting going on since it was their forty-ninth birthday! But alas nothing for the public but some other closed meeting for something that was in the other rooms, and so Hubby and I wandered the rest of the shops, they have a few and I found two bargain 5”X7” picture frames for only three dollars.
Hubby and I both saw a Giclée beach scene of South Beach in Miami rather large but not too about 24”X 26”: Giclée is a neologism for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur"...just in case anyone was wondering...
We both like it and it was reasonable after all we were in the store called Trash or Treasure, but I still tried to negotiate the price down a bit, and he wouldn’t go any further than a few dollars worth. And so I pointed out the flaws; it appeared that some mold was growing on the inside of the glass possibly the print itself. The Latin gentleman who I later found out was named Rafael from Cuba stated that he had to come here to America by boat, huh? And that is why it was the best he could do…what?
And so we asked him if it might go down in price in few weeks, he said maybe if it doesn’t sell first, and we said thanks and good bye, as we paid for those frames and left.
Then yesterday out of the clear blue sky Hubby asked how much I liked the print and I said a bit and that I was wondering where I could put it if we did get it, and he said I should call to see if it was still there. Maybe Rafael would be ready to negotiate but he was still firm, and we gave in, in actuality it was a grand total of twenty bucks plus tax; not that bad for something of that nature, cheaper than most lunches for two out.
And so Hubby went back and got it and we took the back off and removed it from the frame and the glass was cleaned inside and out by him and I carefully dusted the fungus or whatever off the picture itself.
Oddly enough this morning I was so ill that I vomited even my stomach meds and all I had, had was water at that time. I had nothing to eat until the afternoon, it appears my sinuses were acting up or could it be a warning of buying something so extravagant and my mold allergy? Ha! I really don’t think so or perhaps, but since I diligently paid all of our bills to date for this month first and twenty bucks is hardly extravagant in anybodies book! Even have more than enough left over for my neuro's appointment next week!
Why do I always feel guilty getting something that is not a necessity? I deserve fun things too, don’t I?
Anyway on that note of self indulgence I would like to wish you all to splurge in this New Year, yes that’s the ticket… treat yourself well without any guilt! And have a very happy good night to all and to all count those blessings and share those overages and we will too! You betcha!
And next time be here or be square, ok?

There’s a word for you!
Intriguing and beguiling all at the same time.
Frustrating comes to my mind though too.
Did you know when I write this nightly you all have the ability to give me your comments by clicking on the word ‘comments’ on the bottom of this blog?
Many people have left messages that have been very nice and have on occasion recommended ideas or suggestions which I do love with their names included and so I have been able to know who to thank.
But on occasion I receive an interesting note that is quite captivating and also shockingly complimentary and it is that one from the other night that has taken me aback!
Unfortunately, this time the remark was made anonymously!
Hubby insists that he didn’t do it.
As you may have figured out from that statement of above of mine that he was the person that I accused of such an act of kindness.
And so once again I am baffled, but let’s face it, it doesn’t take much these days.
You know it is extremely refreshing to know that others are listening to what I have to say, and gosh they must have not too much to do either, huh?
That is to be reading this crap that I call my own, but I am so thrilled that they do!
Over the years I have been honored to make friends with many different people in the education field. I suppose because I had many family members who were teachers on both my Mom’s and Dad’s sides of the family and so those ‘smarty pants peeps’, have never ever intimidated me as an adult, but I think as a child that wasn’t always the case. Because I do hold most all of them in very high regard, which they rightfully deserve.
That feeling of no one being any better than you is a learned behavior and helps initiate confidence in a harsh world, but in truth we all put our pants on one leg at a time and there’s the rub it brings us all down to the same level of being human, correct? You betcha…
And so dear anonymous thanks for your comments that I had to read a few times to make sure it wasn’t someone being snarky with me, since in half of the comment was how well I would do as the Speaker of the House (it was written after my concerns over the new speaker’s weepy persona), and was then said “since I am the Speaker of MY House.”
If it was a man who is not modern and believes like many used to believe and a few older women still do that children and women should only be seen and not heard then it would be an insult, but if it was a: "you really do speak your mind without fear and good for you!” then I must admit and accept that was a heck of a wonderful thing to say!
I know, I know I profess to be so self assured but I bet you all know that’s usually a façade from me… since my feelings are still too easily hurt; thus this analysis of a
this noteworthy commentary to make my life that much more interesting!
“That beating a dead horse”, thingy comes to my mind again.
Leave well enough alone …yep and someday I will just learn to accept compliments without wondering why they said that and what were they really thinking, yea right… then I wouldn’t be me.
I will leave it alone for now with simplicity of the words sinking into my overactive brain and just say thanks so much for reading this blog and having the nerve to say what you feel too!
How truly brave of you dear anonymous friend of mine…
On that note of acceptance, since that is all any of us really want in life… the ability to be who we are…and so I will wish you all a happy good night and to all please count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, OK?

Farewell...
Tonight is the night we bid a fond farewell to a lovely young woman on our local NBC-2 TV affiliate in Fort Myers Florida, tomorrow is her last day. A weather woman with not just another pretty face but a wholesome one and a very well educated person with actual degrees in Meteorology and beyond!
She has been a joy to watch evolve over the years from a very able and capable young girl into a mature person, multi-faceted, and becoming a true woman for the twenty-first century proving that she can do it all.
We watched her on TV, when we noticed that rock emerge on her left hand for her engagement and marveled many months later when she posted her lovely wedding pictures on Face book and lastly we saw her belly/baby grow these last several months as she kept on doing her job as the amazing meteorologist always pleasant in rain or shine, cold or hot, our home spun gal who has had it all together with calm and her winning personality!
No matter what the day’s weather would be, it always sounded better with a smile from our Haley Webb for she became everyone’s sister, daughter, mother of her own child and lastly but not least our Face book friend!
Haley is not ill thank heavens; she will be doing her other extremely important job… becoming a MOTHER, some of us say the best one in the world, and she will return to this, her other job that she truly loves as ‘OUR METEOROLOGIST’. But in the interim, we, her public, will miss her terribly and it will not only be for her presentations that always are professional and concise but because of who she is as a decent person who always cares about answering her Face book friends with her genuineness of interest and concern; she is truly one of a kind!
And still quite young with a heck of career ahead of her, yes Haley! I say you can have it all and do it all, because you make it look so easy!
Since a level head is what it takes and you definitely have that!
Please dear lady take care and enjoy your days off since your life is going to be so sped up into hyper speed from that very first day your little one comes into this world and you decide to come back to inform us daily again with whether or not we can expect our home state to provide us with our bragging rights of weather so perfect to make the rest of the world envious or not… kidding! Not really, since you know we do enjoy spreading that word. It’s always P-E-R-F-E-C-T, when told to us with your smiling face.
And so I must end this evening with a sadness in my heart for we as a fan base for a very real accessible TV personality will be leaving us briefly for her other real life; and who will fill that void for us? So far none have stepped up to the plate, but to be honest we will never have another Haley, a unique honest person with joy in her heart and soul; big shoes to fill, huh?
On that reasoning of caring for another one enough to let them know I would like to wish you all a very happy good night and to all count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, OK?

More
What more can I do?
Sadly, my readership is going down, but does go up too just as often! Gotcha!
I need to have some consistency in this exposé format I suppose.
One day I am hot the next day I am warm and the next I apparently go cold and then we start all over again….
You try to write a Blog daily that you hope and pray that others would enjoy reading and see what you come up with, huh?
All I can say is once again we hit another gorgeous day out of the park here in paradise, our southwest Florida and so that is ‘our MORE of the same’!
Hubby again was asking where and what I needed to be worked on for his beatification program, and I mentioned our brass house numbers could use a perking up, and he took them down from above the newly re-stuccoed garage door surround. And I tried cleaning the numbers with brass cleaner but they were so pitted it didn’t seem to do the trick, and so I suggested my gold acrylic paint, which has proven on other occasions to hold up quite well when used outside. And the bottle was too low and hard so the only way I was going to get anything out of it would be to thinning it with water which would not cover the brass very well. The next decision was made by me again, and it was for them to be painted white with the rustproof white spray-paint Hubby bought for one of our exterior lights and he used that so he said, but I haven’t seen the finished product yet. I am sure it will look fine since our trim on the tan is white too.
More, more, more this man is insatiable with the need to accomplish refurbishing!
Gosh who would have thunk that, that sentence would make any sense at all! HA!
Moving on…
John A. Boehner, our new Speaker of the House did his welcome speech without much emotion and a bit of poise; he saved that overwhelming reaction for when he returned to the house floor!
I suppose we are in for a very interesting next few years, huh?
Is he old enough for male menopause Peeps?
Talk about ups and downs folks!
The reason I say that is we all get weepy on occasion, but even when I was at my worst with PMS and Peri- menopausal I can’t remember being that bad so often in public and yes I was working then, even going through the real thing, menopause and I was bad. Didn’t know when I would scream or cry, which would come or when it would hit.
Or is he perhaps taking some over the counter meds or some herbs that he is having an allergic reaction to?
I have heard of men not doing anything about health issues, why I live with one of those, but this is ridiculous he has so much on his plate with this new job, maybe he isn’t stable enough to pursue it?
Oh I don’t know, I could be way off base with this diagnosing trial of mine, but I bet I am not the only one thinking these things!
Are you?
Any-who, with all my weirdness in tact let’s all be happy that I am not the NEW Speaker of the House, ha!
On that note of probable total agreement I will wish you all a very happy good night and to count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!
And next time be here or be square, OK?
PS and to our local head weather guy please forgive my insolence in telling you what you should do, but to me it seems silly not to use social media to talk to your fan base, which I am sure would be thrilled to hear from you! Makes you more accessible and people are more willing to listen then.

Natural!
Five days have come and gone and we do still not need anything but nature to keep our home comfortable. Simply put: during the day the windows are opened and in the evening the windows are closed! You guessed it, I bet, we have not had our heat or air on since last Thursday! Ahhh you can’t beat the weather in southwest Florida in ‘the winter’!
Ha, we are so fortunate, and how pleasant is this?
You all do know that we are just a short trip from wherever you are to here in paradise, right?
So come on down folks, we are here for you all!
We aren’t too proud but I do love to brag and who doesn’t need a boost to their economy and so just Nike it!
Moving on…
We now have our new governor installed under the law of the land of sunshine; it was made official today.
Hopefully, he will do some of what he has promised not being a politician and all; he’s a businessman from another state who interloped his way into our recent election. He will have to prove himself worthy of most of ours’ support by actions not by words.
Most of my Face book buddies don’t place too much stock in his abilities to provide those seven hundred thousand jobs he said will come within his four year term, which is ticking away as of today.
Many in the state are jaded by these so-called mimics of our desires back at us without keeping any of their laundry lists stated during their campaigning; we have been fooled before; but hasn’t everyone?
Any-who, we shall see what we shall see; doing it makes it so, not just thinking it, am I correct or what folks?
You see, Florida is amongst the hardest hit states for jobs, home foreclosures you name it we got it… but many of those things are appearing to be making a comeback and our people are hopeful and that’s why this new guy in our state capitol of Tallahassee is such an important guy to watch. Governor Rick Scott is our man of the hour, day, year and our futures too…All I can say is I hope he comes through for all the people depending on him. We need a state health plan for all peoples, besides the almighty jobs, better education for the children which will help prevent higher crime rates and banks to keep their promises of helping people with difficulty paying their mortgages to straighten all of that out! We need a lot and I hope he doesn’t run us as a for profit personal business. You all know what I mean his motto is, “Let’s get to work”. Not a bad idea but just what does he mean and how is he going to go about it, huh?
If he means he is looking for everyone to work for him for free and not get any pay for that that scares me.
He also re-initiated the Governor’s Ball set to go off tonight; he feels that it is a morale builder of fun, huh? The last two governors’ administrations felt the state was in too much financial debt to pay for it and that was before these last two, nearly three years when the worst did happen. In my mind not a great beginning in saving the state’s finances, unless the bill is going to the billionaire or is he just a millionaire governor, can’t seem to keep that straight!
We all here in the state that we love to call our home are hoping and praying that this new guy gets it right since he won’t be able to get too many do-overs if we don’t see any improvements and so as most of us will say the proof is in the pudding which basically means if he does what he did promise then he will have us Floridians hearts souls and feelings of him being an honest man of his word.
On that note of hopeful concern I would like to wish you all a very happy good night and too all count those blessings and share those overages please and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, OK?
Ha, we are so fortunate, and how pleasant is this?
You all do know that we are just a short trip from wherever you are to here in paradise, right?
So come on down folks, we are here for you all!

Projects
And not the type people live in; the Honey-do kind.
Hubby has taken it upon himself to ask me daily what he can do to fix this or that; wow any woman’s dream-man!
If you like that sort of thing, some I suppose prefer diamonds, fancy cars, chocolates and caviar, but not me! Oh, all right perhaps I could go berserk over chocolate, Godiva dark specifically; after all I am a self confessed chocoholic!
I also prefer a guy who really wants to beautify the old homestead, and that to me is S-E-X-Y!
LOL!
I know most of you gals are saying right now; “what is she crazy.”
And I do know you mean that in only the nicest way, right? Hey, what’s with that, no question mark!
You’re being rhetorical and I won’t take that lying down or standing up, but sitting I will, which I am doing right now, HA!
Must I write those annoying three letters that shows that I think that I AM VERY FUNNY and should be laughed at?
Nah, I won’t do it since most men including my own Hubby seems to get exasperated by that acronymic overused expression of joy seeking terminology.
Any-who, the ‘project’ my darling Hubby took on was a repair of the stucco surround of our garage door, due to the trim installed there being vinyl has been chewed up by the edger, his own doing over the many years a thing that was unavoidable. And so I suggested re-stuccoing the Moorish angular-shaped opening encompassing the door and so that is what he is doing!
He had to go to the home store first and get the webbing, new weather trim, and stucco and paint to match the rest of our home, which I call the color a pale tan but lovely in the sense that it is accented by white in different ways around doors and windows, neutral simplicity at its best. And our inside of our home is quite colorful and nice surprise for our guests who enter it I suspect!
Actually, most of our furniture is white and floors too; it’s our accessories that are colorful!
Nate Berkus would be proud!
Oh who’s Nate?
He is a decorator with his own show here on our ABC affiliate at ten A.M. every week day morning.
I enjoy it because not only does he show great ideas for small spaces, which we have but also cost cutting methods for small budgets as well!
And I did have a few semesters of interior design too while a student at LIM.
That could be why I so enjoy it now, one of my many interests that is so tame from my old sporty me.
Although when I was given an aptitude test years ago it said I should be an architect, oh well… too late for that!
Oddly enough since I took a few of those online ones and they said I should be a writer, now we are talking!
On paper or on whatever this screen is made of, do you know?
I do know it is not biodegradable.
Strangely enough we all believe how reading books, newspapers and that are biodegradable clogging up the recycling bins are being wasteful and these not breaking down technological machines are?
I know using these techno products saves trees, but now they are using Bamboo a quickly renewable wood that I think also can be turned into paper things too?
And yes I do know we recycle plastic into roadways and walkways, decking, benches and the like…
So what does that make it a tie?
A matter of personal choice but authors are losing money by some technologies their books' values have suffered going down to a fraction of what they used to sell at retail, good for the consumer but not for the artist!
Journalists, of the print kind too are losing jobs with online papers being readily available, newspapers having been failing for years sadly.
But if recycled paper can be used and reused; why not subscribe?
Join that book club at that brick and mortar store if they all go under more people’s jobs do too!
And so we all must take some responsibility for these current job losses, and I am sure you too can come up with more ideas why this has happened.
To tell you all the truth as much as I have a pipe dream of working at my age and lack of abilities I would much rather prefer a youngster to get a job that I could potentially be responsible from stealing from them; get my drift? And I am NOT an advocate of ageism by any means. But unless you can’t pay your own way it’s really OK to relax and let others have those all too few jobs.
Anyone being a small business person it is your job to cultivate the abilities of the people in your own area and choose wisely.
I think this is a fine beginning to the New Year.
Since I am doing what I was trained to do, manage, ha!
On that feeling of being needed, you see just being asked about something means that to me, and so let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to all count those blessings and promise to share those overages and we will too!
