Trickle down theory

Now to some this might sound like unfair, since we all know that most millionaires and billionaires worked hard for their money that is…wait for it… unless it was inherited, hmm?
Not today we are told most are self made, fill-in-the-blank-aires.
And so what I am about to suggest will definitely piss off some of them if not most, true? Well, how can you know that unless you read what I am writing and you haven’t yet, hmm?
Any-who, here goes …, SOAPBOX TIME BIG TIME!
I do think that the concept of the wealthy paying a wee bit more in taxes and not taking out as much in social security and Medicare when they come of age and retire or paying higher co-payments, since they can without pain, so to speak, would probably be helpful to aid in the reconciliation of our fourteen trillion dollar debt and counting.
Now about the fact that, that would prevent them from freely creating more jobs which we all know they hold the golden keys to doing…I do believe is a bunch of hogwash!
How much does one need to open a stand and hire a bunch of good hard working people, really?
The other alternative which many seem to feel is necessary by cutting Social Security and Medicare, disability, and aid to the veterans, what are they crazy?
Don’t they know that if these are cut or diminished in any way, shape or form that these fine people, ourselves included will end up trickling down to the truly down trodden millions and resort to Medicaid and all those other programs available for those who have nearly no income at all and cannot work due to no fault of their own and then what good will that do?
Now you will have more on those programs that soon too will have to go, since they too need an overhaul.

Here’s another idea, reduce the amount of nonsensical research programs that are paid for by our government, or pork bellies or special interest groups getting funding for let’s see: things like the true reason why the chicken crossed the road, what was she thinking, huh? Or for museums for salt and pepper shakers that all can be privately funded by whatever idiot may find those things interesting to them, perhaps a billionaire who wants to cut his taxes, hmm, what-have-you!

Government salaries should be cut to more realistic ones where government employees that are elected by us should not receive increases unless their voters have received them too, same with good health care it all should be decided by tandem realism that means tit for tat, if they get it we do too! After all aren’t they, OUR EMPLOYEES!
Those ideas could save billions for that I am more than sure!

It’s only a beginning but I am sure you all have more ideas and now we can easily send them on to the people who are trying, do we really think so? Well, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt since our futures are in their hands… making all those choices for you and me…in our tomorrows! Here is access to say what you feel: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

I think that a campaign to really listen to their constituents would or could be helpful and so what... we have nothing to lose and everything to gain, wouldn't you say?

On that power of being able to do something, instead of sitting back and not doing anything, it is definitely very freeing! Please allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you all to kindly count your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Jealousy

Envy, covetousness, resentment, protectiveness, suspicion and distrust are all definitions of jealousy.
It’s a nasty emotion that as adults we should not have.
But why do some of us still have that adolescent feeling of not being as good as… and why do you flinch when you see others who you think are better than you do and why do you think that you cannot do it too?
Is something lacking in your character that creates this misbehavior or misunderstanding?
Or is it something more insidious?
Many suffer from lack of self control and therefore confidence and do terrible things to make up for what they may have missing within their souls, like a meanness that has no filter if it was allowed escape or to be spoken aloud.
What I want to know is it a normal emotion?
Perhaps it is not.
Euphemistically speaking it has been referred to as having the ‘green-eyed monster’ sticking out its ugly head.
For mental health purposes is it important to find out why the feeling exists or better to just think about how to handle it when it tries to rear its ugliness?
Personally I try to choose the latter.
Take deep breaths and say isn’t it wonderful that so and so is doing this or that so much better than yourself and that you are so proud to be considered their friend or acquaintance or a friend of a friend or relative, or what?
Is that like a left handed compliment, and we all know what that is, huh?
Oh you don’t?
It’s not totally clear in this much confused brain of mine either, but I do believe it refers to not being sincere with what you are saying?
I know; isn’t that like lying; which is silly because it IS lying!
Well, I can’t do that!
I tried it for a couple of times on different things in my life and it came back to bite me in my rear-end, well not really, you know figuratively, oh no; is that lying too?
This has got to stop!
How can we be politely honest and still not hurt feelings when telling others how we truly feel about them?
I got nothing; do you?
Many have suggested in not being shallow in your choices when finding people to befriend, just make sure you chose wisely, hmmm where did I hear that before?
In my recent past I have wanted to chose people who I felt I could learn from and were smarter than me, which does give me a wealth of billions to choose from, eh? LOL!
I suppose that’s why jealousy could come up for me not unlike the general population of the rest of the world, right?
Gosh, am I hypocritical or what?
On what you may ask?
Why on my choosing my friends' list.
Most all of the ones I chose are ‘quite something’, as my Dad would have said … they are amazing with all their accomplishments and abilities, no matter what!
Incredible, is such a small word for describing all these persons.
I suppose it is a flaw in that person who cannot control that negative sensation namely referred to as 'jealousy', but for the rest of us we must look for the silver lining in all our relationships and utilize that knowledge from those wise wonderful people and turn it around to learn, learn, and learn! It is a rearrangement of the thought process to turn negatives into positives, huh?

And so on that, what was that?

Who knows, but please allow me to be the first to ask you to kindly count those blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And please next time be here or be square, ya hear?

Back on track ...

And no, I am not a derailed train, bud dump bum…
You deserve to be entertained and I deserve to try my darndest to do that and so shall I give it the old college try?

What makes you smile?
No, seriously, what does make you smile?
Perhaps it could be a beautiful picture of a healthy baby, or a puppy or a kitten or majestic mountain or ocean view?
Or is it a side splitting joke that you heard or read?
Maybe, it’s someone giving you an unsolicited compliment or some form of praise?
Come on, own up…
Well, it’s something to be putting on your thinking caps about, hmm?
A pleasant thought, huh?
There you go… are those corners of your mouth turning…up?
I DID IT. Did what? Wait for it…a SMILE!
We all know that smiling uses fewer muscles than frowning does, right?
And so why do we wait for some- thing to make us do it?
I think that we should just do it without thought or reason, what do you think?
Oh so you think that would look strange and others will call you odd or weirdo or peculiar, hmm?
Now you made me wonder; why doesn’t anyone think that when we don’t smile when we have blank looks, huh?
I believe it’s because when we do the extremes of anything like frowning which could be considered the exact opposite of smiling it also gets a reaction, but usually one of concern, hmm?
The human animal is a strange lot, why we are more than fortunate that our faces are so expressive.
Have you heard that they’re people who can read you by only that?
How truly marvelous I would say!
It gives a person a moment to pause and ponder how they want to be thought of, true?
What if you were deaf and perhaps some of my readership is and so everyone’s facial and bodily … expressions and language are so telling even to the hearing more so to the unhearing and if that is the case I would like to think that many of us would try to present a positive happy appearance to the world… which you must admit makes for a much better place to live in, right?

And so my happy campaign continues with us all grinning like idiots daily for no reason what-so-ever, deal?
No?
Why not?
I can’t hear you!
No I am not deaf yet, you must write it here for me to see and I use that term loosely since that one is diminishing but slowly, my sight, and so I should shut up before I jinx it to me to happen more swiftly!
Any-who, oh the smile campaign… you found fault with the grinning idiot terminology it sounded good until I said that?
Well, what would you call it if you just smiled with nothing to back it up with, no rhyme or reasoning, huh?
Here, I got it… because you are, HAPPY IN YOUR SOUL!
What the heck try it because and here’s a really good reason, because it takes less muscles than frowning and therefore you WRINKLE THAT MUCH LESS!
Now who could argue with that, really?
LOL!

On that little bit of silly….which means I’m Back!
Let me be the first to wish you all a happy, smiling good night and to please count all those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
Or read?
Take care all…

How do I follow my last night's rant?

Shall I follow it with a sequel?
Nah, you don’t want that, do you?
And in actuality that would not be true, since I am a bit better than my hellish day of my recent past of yesterday.
Not to say that I am all good, who is ever, really?
I am just not as bad.

Would you care to know the gory details?
I can’t hear you…
And so I will take that as a yes and tell you as much as my law of allowance will permit…which is usually TMI! LOL!
Here it goes… I cannot stand for long at all, minutes it seems now is only what can be done. My neck and shoulders feel like they will implode into one another whether I sit here or over there, got that?
Lying down is difficult too. Dizzy is my middle name.
Ahhh, but I don’t believe it is another exacerbation so soon after the other, not when I am on the wonder drug Copaxone!
Crazy, that the gnats are back and floaters too with my eyesight, both eyes, even my right illegally blind eye, yep I know it’s supposed to be legal, but really I believe that it is illegal to have this problem by all who do have it. And I do think most would agree if they could see this!

Any-who, life does go on with or without my input, I will reason since it always has.
My self imposed to-do list of today was not completed.
It is something I did when I stopped working outside of the home all those years ago.
I made myself, oh ok pushed myself to complete certain things within the day that needed to be done, so even though by many standards I was a bum I would be a self accomplished one who fulfilled tangible daily tasks in a form that made me imagine myself as not being useless.
Since this little thing of illness has taken over me at times so totally it appears that my concern for accomplishment has seemed to have waned and dwindled considerably.
Being just the two of us these days and since Hubby’s been retired nearly these last five years my priorities have changed. Our sons have been grown and gone on their own since 1995! And so why should I be so concerned daily with this or that, hmm?

And Hubby’s recent ills too have made us both change our priorities of what needs to be done or what has to be, got that?
Priority, now that’s an interesting word…of main concern, precedence or right of way.
It has been in my observance over these many years how this too can be quite a significant way to figure out or not really figure out people’s character, huh?
When we lived in NJ we had an area not far from us as many places do where very poor run down homes were and even though the structures were minimal and some looked as if a good wind would blow them down, some had fancy cars sitting in front of them. And then where we lived with all custom homes on acre or more properties there would be cars up on jacks or run down, most likely a teen in the home’s idea of a project but odd just the same, hmm?
Teaches us something, huh?
And when I figure it out I will tell you… here’s some possibilities for an active mind checking to see if it is still working… maybe those fancy cars belonged to their drug dealers or they just needed reliable transportation to go to work? And the others with the nice homes and bad cars/rundown vehicles were actually their idea of lawn art, not a teen’s science or reconditioning project or maybe they got into the fancy home and spent all their money and they only had a little bit left for it for transportation?
You see when it comes to why people do some things it can be confusing even without cognitive or mind haze disorders, but those are my excuses and I will stick to them, ha, I think?

Pain, physical, actually does cause the mind to wander and sometimes one might wonder if it will ever comeback, kidding!
Right now my head feels as if it has backup clutter with heavy pressure, could it be the barometric pressure, ya think?
Many professionals of the medical persuasion will agree that weather does really have an affect on everything from arthritis to sinus issues, why not MS too?
The more I search for answers the more it comes back to Multiple Sclerosis, how odd.
I bet most didn’t realize how many symptoms have to do with the one disease that plagues them.
But unfortunately many ills have similar symptoms and so while trying to get diagnosed it is usually a nightmare; been there done that.

On that end to my usual verbose self expressions of nonsense let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And please next time be here or be square, ya hear?

PS If I have helped one person with my somewhat overwhelming problems make theirs feel not seem as bad, then I can say I have done my job to take the weight of the world off of someone else’s shoulders, and WOW what a feeling! A two way street, I hope…one only has that, hope, you know…

Blinder on my right side making it feel like my half of my brain is not functioning, right eye is worse if that's possible with it already being legally blind...

Feelings of exhausting needing desperately some refreshing sleep and not getting enough...even with napping for over an hour…no help.

Right legged bandings that are not dissimilar to tourniquets, calf and thigh wise… didn’t I just go through an exacerbation? What’s up with this?
Tripping when my foot won’t turn when I try to turn into the bathroom while using my walker…here we go again… can I make it to the chair…or is this it my need for a wheeled one always…

Sorry folks but this has been my day so far…
No medications seem to help anymore.
Heaven knows that I am on way too many already.
Guess it’s just a bad day…
And who hasn’t had those, too many though…lately.

Ah Multiple Sclerosis, not my friend, my enemy, but isn’t it all of ours who deal daily with it?
Surprises are never amusing with it.
Days get longer with it.
There is always guilt of losing more of oneself with it.
Hate is not strong enough how I feel with it.
Anyone else truly feel that way with it?
I know many have resigned their selves to deal with it.
Yes, I have it and it doesn’t have me; or does it? Me with it…
Shall we all be good little martyr’s and say OK with it?

NO!
I WILL NOT!
But what then?
Hope for a better day tomorrow…
YES!

We are strong people who have this life stealer of young and old alike.
Oh sure we can live a normal life span, but really?
Not normal and what is the quality of that life span?
New meds are on the forefront we hear daily, but only if you meet the criteria which is so specific and does not do well with other medications in the interaction department.
Surgery is still in the experimental stage although some swear by it who have had it, but some have died…too.

Hope is always there somewhere…
Will I be there for it when it comes?
I sure pray that is the case.
What else can I do but wait it out…with it…
Days come and go and so many are just another, do you get it with it?
Running into one another the endlessness of nothing changing…with it.
Oh yes it does, it changes it up some days which means that some are worse than others but, try to restrain, behave, you are a grown-up and shouldn’t complain with it.
Be strong and be thankful, you are not dying, oh no, not from this but it will come from a complication of it with it.
Move you fat slob, exercise, but how so without sweating since that exacerbates it with it… my head is spinning from my ataxia more so with it…
And the cure has made my glucose think that I am diabetic once again, giving me highs and lows… oh who knows… do you with it?
I am disgusted with it.
Can’t I say that when I am with it?
Denial seems to be the cure with it?
Tell me what to do with it?
I am so through with it.
Its so different for each of us with it.
So no one has the answers for us with it.
Many can’t see it and have no sympathy for any with it.
But we cry with it.
And hurt with it.
We try so hard with it.
Please be patient of those who deal with it.
We are you only with it.
That is the only difference is that we are with it and you are without it…

Tomorrow is another day and who knows what it may bring for me, perhaps I will be able to not think about being with it with tamer systems waning for me for me to become an amnesiac from this days occurrences…

Expectation and optimism is all we got if we lose them then we are goners…hmm?

Dear friends please know that I only have some really bad days that need to be told, I owe it to myself and it is how I feel and I deal… and so on that introspective rant of mine that I own… let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly to count those blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

The Best Thing about Growing Older Is That It Takes Such a Long Time

All I can say is about that title, which by the way was a fortune from my cookie is; I sure hope so…hmm?
Since as we all know that we age daily and that is a good thing and I have been known to say, actually this is what I say; my verbatim comment: “I hope I get as old as I can, since the alternative to NOT getting older, is dead!” Blunt but lets you know where I stand on the topic, huh?

Not to be mean to the people at large, but that’s why I still don’t get why people seem ashamed of their age and hide it when asked, why is that?
I personally am going on sixty-two, if I should be so lucky when I get another birthday next year. And that joke I made about Jack Benny’s age plus twenty-two on my birthday on the first of this month and me hoping that you were not math whizzes was my little joke, but you all knew that, right? For any one of you know that Jack would say he was thirty-nine, and yes he did have a thing about his age, and if you add twenty-two to his you get…61, of course. Just the mention of Jack Benny tells the ancients (meaning the ones filled with wisdom folks) in the group how old I am since most kids probably have no idea who he is, true?
And that’s what I have done since I was a small child; oh what’s that you ask?
Said the day after my birthday that I am going on the next year of my life, which to my knowledge is true, true and positive and of course hopefully wanting that next year to go smoothly and not necessarily too fast and definitely for there to be a next year!
But as we all know time takes its time, huh?
You know what I mean, because by now you all know me and you are all brilliant! LOL!
But really folks…

Another thing that was indirectly brought to my attention is that I went out more than once without my cooling vest like on June 22nd 2011 about a week after I had my step down pills completed after my infusions of the steroids, a total of a nine days’ process for both. I went with Hubby to his doctor’s appointment and in and out for lunch and other venues that I truly forgot, but which I do believe was my reasoning for feeling so dreadful from the heat. And in turn made me vow that I could or should not leave my well temperature controlled abode and go out into the world of cool/heat atmosphere of in betweens from air to no air of leaving a vehicle and then entering a building that were both well air-conditioned, and dealing with those two extremes of temperatures in short periods of time…
Whew, that my friends was a disaster in the body temperature regulatory commission for me, got that?

Now that I think I got that cleared up please if any of you find inconsistencies in anything that I write please notify me directly and either let me edit/correct it appropriately with your in put or let me explain why it may have happened, OK?
Far as grammar and spell check go in this word program I do believe it only works every few times and then there is my very human errors that I do own up to and are many for that I am more than sure… and so for that please forgive, and thanks from the Tobi management… GOSH! I am pulling your leg folks! You all knew that though, right?
Sure you did…

On that bit of whatever you call this weirdness that is unique to me, NOT! Please allow me to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count your blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Kathy today was your day of your birth and I do hope so much that you enjoyed it thoroughly with mucho gusto!

Looking for fun in all the wrong places...

Where can a Hubby and his gal pal, me, go for a good time these days?
Oh yea, we tried the usual haunts, The Cultural Center with its Christmas in July bazaar, a yearly event for over forty years, but even going through that twice took less than two hours. And their eatery was having barbecue and for us right now that is a no, no, in the cholesterol and blood pressure wars.
And so we moved on trying to think out of our box of our five square mile radius of the have everything for our needs tiny world and we drew a blank, since I think we have seen it all more than any man or woman would like to admit…and no new events were advertised other than the one we attended.
But lunch time was hovering closely and so we went over to a restaurant that told us previously that they would conform to our dietary needs if ever we informed them when we arrived and chose a menu item that could be adapted to what we had in mind, and so Jimmy’s Grill got our bucks for that mid-day munch. They had just what the doctor ordered, yep literarily, low sodium and low fat, broiled flounder and broccoli and cauliflower steamed with tossed salads and dressings on the side. Hubby did stray a bit with mashed potatoes but not smothered in gravy, since he took that gravy on the side and used it sparingly. I on the other hand had the rice pilaf with a few carrots tossed into it and no sauce or gravy involved at all. I chose the lemon for my condiment for my veggies and fish while Hubby went light on the tartar sauce, just a smidge. You see, moderation is the key in all that any of us should do when trying hard to comply with what our body complains about, huh?

From there we thought we would see if our Charlotte Harbor Beach Complex had any goings on, and no, not a thing…I suppose since the cutbacks they have… wait for it… cut back!
And so from there we came home to the same ole same ole…TV movies and computer games, since my nature girl life is still on hold until we get a break in the weather, like if it should moderate to a nice seventy-five degrees with a less than fifty per cent humidity (in reality that may be in November or December) then and only then would I really consider even with my best vest, cooling that is, which I did wear again today; it does work sufficiently well, but can only do so much…I think I still need some type of head gear to keep a cool head, yep in more ways than one, you figure that out, HA!

Actually I was quite well behaved today and the server was concerned that she too might have MS and in fact is being tested for it now, so I of course gave her some of my info that I have learned from personal experience and a web site too, and even the cashier there Aunt has MS and is using marijuana to help her. I did not ask too many details because it is still illegal in this state for use of medicinal marijuana. But I do believe it is legal in six states. I personally probably would not use it if it was legal, why you ask? The munchies of course until I get rid of some BIG TIME LBS I think that I would have to bow out of that pain relieving remedy, ha, oh darn! And I have not investigated about that cooling hat yet, but I really should, shouldn’t I?
A short return to that discussion about medicinal use of Mary Jane as some call pot, even when I was a teen and then a college student in the sixties and early seventies I smoked cigarettes and I would then be offered the joints and my stock answer would be; I smoke cigarettes that’s bad enough; don’t you think so? And usually the offerer would beg off.

I look back on those years with a bit of pride for my ability to resist temptations but sadly I did smoke cigarettes until 2006 and this Monday it will be my fifth anniversary of quitting those cancer sticks, yea! I hear tell that most who smoked pot were compromised brain wise although most of the ones I know who did try it out, the pot, while away at school. I commuted perhaps that is another reason I didn’t, they are just fine today and none the worse for wear and many never took up smoking the other weed that does cause cancer, oh well, who knows… life is just one experiment after another and we are just the lab rats, huh?
Gosh who said that?
I did.
Nah, someone more intellectual than me, for that I am more than sure… any-who…
And with that bit of ridiculousness let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you kindly to count those blessings and to share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS Farewell Betty Ford a woman after my own heart with her honesty and openness and outspoken ability before it was cool to ‘Speak your mind!’ She made women check their breasts for lumps and by doing that helped women not feel odd about caring and saved many lives and her openness about her own prescription pill addiction made others know that they should get help, what a great gal who saved many lives and yes she will definitely be sorely missed by us all!

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi...

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
