Influence...

Influence is to have power, to apply pressure, to sway an authority, wielding some weight and taking control, manipulating, or persuading and inducing, talking into or win over, and having an effect or inspiration that projects an impact to stimulate change and may have some bearing on to inspire to shape the outcome! TA DA!
Wow, I want some of that.
In reality, we as Baby Boomers believe that in our deepest desires that we do have that ability to change things, therefore behaviors or attitudes or human nature or the world or beyond! Well, not beyond, but you all know what I mean…
Whether dealing with our children as they grew or at our jobs or our grandkids or the powers that be, even our government.
We feel that our vote counts as much as our opinions… are we living in a dream-world; I ask you?
Nah! I say!
I have heard it told that only one person has the ability to change the world…and we are all still looking for that one being!
And no, I am not referring to a deity of any organized religion, or the Messiah, or what-have-you, no this will be a mere mortal…
Not so mere we all say! I hear you!

Immediacy is what is occurring this evening as I write this since perhaps just after four P.M. the networks locally took over our general programming to let us know that our extremely wet weather is of primary concern and for lack of a better way to say it… THE WEATHER IS OUR ALL CONSUMING NEWS this evening…
I must admit rightfully so, no argument here, no way.
But this proves my point for us even without cable or satellite or a Dish, what-have-you when there is news the stations take over our airwaves and so we get it, all of it!

Rain can be refreshing or worrisome as so many times it is in our hurricane season, and yes, we still are in that not so happy season until November 30th … Rain can bring lightening, thunder and heavy winds, as in tornadoes and no so far so good, although we were under warnings and watches for those nasty extreme fellows… Fortunately, this appears to be just a BIG RAIN MAKER, thankfully!
You see, with all this water around us, being on a peninsula especially, we get what is known as waterspouts that stay over the water but if, and now this is a BIG IF, if it, that waterspout, comes ashore it turns into a tornado!
Then we have a BIG problem, since there aren’t any basements here in most homes in Florida due to a very high water table that is the aquifer, what-have-you… safe rooms too are few and far between and I might suggest but I could be wrong mostly for the wealthy? To me, though, they should be included as mandatory in any new construction anywhere in the world!
Sure, they have nasty horrid weather too!
It’s obvious that there is other news around the world and we get that in on our networks here nightly at six-thirty P.M. and yes, it took over and moved on to national and international news and we actually have our rain system temporarily under control, at least here where we are… amazingly like they all knew that, it did stop for now.
But our local weather professionals said it will take breaks but continue on into the night… getting heavier perhaps by the later hours between ten and midnight!
I would normally be asleep by then, most nights but not every night… tonight I may stay up to watch and wait and make sure that we will be okay…
You all know that Mother Nature is one of those things that we have no ability to control, therefore, no influence over… how sad that we of so much power to possibly change the world for the better cannot still do a thing about the weather, and yes it is frustrating and maybe someday that will change…
Heaven knows we have plenty studying the idea, but these scientists are in the many of others who are trying hard to cure many diseases and on that front we seem to have too far to go too… although, many say any day now.
Then why are they gouging consumers in the price of the drugs to help them?
Sadly, is it to who’s benefit to cure us?
I wonder… what mere mortals can do?
Nah, it will happen because we will make them do it with our power of making them know how much we have to survive… no one seems to have any real influence over these people that literarily hold lives in their hands, hmm?

Confusing, but aren’t I always, but you also must admit that some of this is thought provoking too?

We will have to wait but please hurry, some are dying to know your answers…

On that truism of life allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly to count all of your blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

PS on the weather we do also get those scrolls on the bottom or sides of regular programming screens whenever we need to know, how thoughtful of the local networks, hmm?

Bad day, had plans had to cancel...weird happenings...

Have you ever felt like each of your extremities had been freezing?
I know, sure we all have that if we lived in a northern climate and in fact I did live in the cold longer (New Jersey) than in this warmth in Florida…

You see, I was freezing so severely in my hands and feet with shivering and teeth chattering and all that that I had to put on socks and turn the air-conditioning all the way up and get in bed with three blankets covering me, crazy? Thankfully, Hubby was here to help with all that. While Skipper sat vigil on the bed with me, first across my pillow on my head then on my freezing feet, he instinctively seems to know when I am not right, although some may argue that’s all of the time….bud, dump, bum…

Hubby checked my vitals; and my blood pressure was within the normal range as well as my pulse… the only thing that was slightly off was my temperature it was up to 100.6 not too bad by any standards but worthy of monitoring due to the other nasty symptom.
The whole thing started when just about to sit down to eat lunch around noon and lasted for less than three hours, downright weird, hmm?

I thought perhaps I got stung of something since I am allergic to bee stings but no bees inside, but the reaction almost came across as an allergic reaction… Hubby did look up online by surfing what it could be, and it did say that it could be the beginnings of a viral or bacterial infection.

I reassured him that we have that prescription of Amoxicillin still that the doctor switched to the Z-pack that time, and so if an emergency arises we have that covered.
But no, after a while I got out of bed and Hubby made me some green tea and that is why I had to get out of bed, I spill everything if I try to drink or eat there; we have used our lap tray on the lounge chair in the living room for me there since it is easier for Hubby and the kitchen is adjacent to it. I felt well enough to ask for another tea.
It really did warm me from the inside out.

As I realized that Hubby was feeling the heat since according to our indoor thermometer it was now 84 degrees inside! And I still was wearing the three blankets and shivering a wee bit, but I slowly after downing the two teas experimented with removing one blanket at a time, in about half hour intervals.

And surprising after a while I began feel better and decided to finish my lunch, my temperature was going down, now at 99.9, and last taken right on target of 98.6 and so I put the thermometer away and wondered what had happened, really odd, huh?

Any-who here I sit hours later after eating dinner and barely feeling any remnants of the ills that were pretty close to a hospital admittance in fact Hubby had mentioned it, but I am OK now and I do hope that was just an aberration or some such thing, a fluke, who knows…Heaven knows I got enough going on normally with all my other stuff so who needs more, really?

And tomorrow Hubby and I will do what we were going to do today, maybe and I will report back here, all righty now… on this strange unexplained episode, tis the season coming up next month, huh?
Allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all your blessings and to share all those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?

Speaking My Mind: Interesting familiar diagnosis for one and horrifi... :   But these are MINE! Not Hubby's! What he has is not contagio...
