Now, I have a deep-seated problem with people not understanding that Multiple sclerosis is not a causal effect of old age!
I lost it with a dear older friend when I mentioned that I had stopped driving years ago due to my legs not being strong enough to push the gas pedal and also my neck not swiveling safely enough to see all around. Hubby, as a deputy, used to tell me horror stories of people that had horrible accidents due to those deficits, and so I gave up my license.
My medical issues are the cause and effect of my situation, not old age. She is only a year older and she said yes, it's hard getting old!
I explained that my quitting driving was fifteen years ago, not recently!
Any-who, I quickly cut the conversation short, not wanting to have to explain again...in my mind due to frustration!
I do like this person very much and have known her on and off for gosh going on over forty years, since the 1970s when we were young mothers together in our first homes.
My concern for people to get me has ruined a few so-called friendships with me getting angry when they compare their simple arthritis problems to MS. I know arthritis well I also have eight of the more than 100 types that they are, and I worked for the Arthritis Foundation as a volunteer for ten years! I was trained by the state health department to teach classes for them!
And my MS is much worse than any of my arthritis that I have!
Of course, MS is similar to Rheumatoid, Scelederma, and Lupus that all fall under the umbrella of "arthritis" and are also autoimmune diseases, not unlike Multiple Sclerosis!
But none of the people I discussed any of this with had those types of "arthritis".
Any-who, I do know it is my problem, not theirs.
But to me, it's like people not realizing that masks could stop COVID!!!
In a way, it is good I do not have to socialize.
Only deal with doctors who do know.
Moving on...
Our Gubernator still has no idea about COVID, he is in that "misinformation group" that believes it is a seasonal disease, and it's the season, summer, thus why Florida's cases are going up!
Talk about frustrating people that JUST DON'T GET IT!!!
DeSantis is number two, appropriately after NUMBER ONE the X-so-called president! But in my mind, they both act like NUMBER TWOS!!!
You got it!!!
Smart always does!!!
Anyway, he still believes that children, older than his that are four and under I believe, ones that actually go to school do not need vaccines or to wear masks!!!
The question is if his children had to go to school with other children would he be so cavalier with their lives???
Scary!!! I wouldn't want him to make decisions for me if my children were young and going to school or if I had any grandchildren in this state in school!
Lastly, moving on...
We had a cloudy sunrise so no decent pics on that front!
And so we must go, for now ...
I am called Aussie because my Mom asked a sixteen-year-old girl, who had been looking at me, in the crate at the adoption site, that day, what she thought I should be named. And without hesitation, the teenager had said, Aussie! She was just looking, by the way,... so Mom did not steal me from her.
We never did find out the girl's name, and Mom liked the name Aussie too. We have since found out that it is a very common name, but it is still just right for me! My parents think that I am uncommon though,... some might say even unique! I do like that.
I am an Australian Shepherd. Here is an interesting factoid about me, I was supposed to be a miniature Australian Shepherd, but... as you might know, I AM NOT! Although I am now three years old, so I am the baby, though I tip the scales at around seventy pounds, HA! I must admit, a very big one!
I was three months old when Mommy and Daddy adopted me. I had been taken out of a hoarder's home in the Carolinas with my litter. Below is my new PIC that had been taken on the birthday that I share with my Dad, but Dad is much, much older than me!!! I was the first to be adopted, February 16, 2018, his brother's birthday.
Please don't forget me, I am Chance, pictured above, a Bichon Frise! I am six years old, so they think, and the eldest, and I like getting up early with Mom and Aussie. Bella sleeps in with Dad, till after seven most days, even later! I enjoy a good tug-a-war on the ropes that Dad had twisted for Aussie and me, and sometimes even Bella plays too! I was the last to be adopted, on January 23, 2020.
I was wandering the neighborhood for days and then saw Aussie and Bella in their living-room window, so I hung out there... The Animal Welfare League checked me out and kept me for sixteen days until I was allowed to be adopted. Good evening?
The animal control lady was called and came out to see if I had a chip I.D. with her machine, and Dad told her that he wanted to name me Chance. His reason being, that if no one claimed me, I want to give him a second chance! So that is how I got the name Chance!
Easy as Aussie, Bella, Chance, now you got it!
