Alright, only in my mind they were, happenings that is BIG,... in reality today little Bella was given her first shower! Not a bath, yes a shower in the content below you will see the moment to moment accounting of the process...of a furry kid shower!
Now that we have had her for three weeks as of today I took the chance of our trust to make her another clean member of the family!
Actually, the day we had adopted her she had just been professionally groomed at Pet Smart, and so after other previous older adoptee had issues I was cautious to say the least.
Although, Bella has been quite tolerant of any of my touches of her ears, legs, feet, tail and looking into her mouth at her teeth, since the first day when we had had the veterinarians check to make sure that she was not vicious, and even after that for her check up with her passing again both times with flying colors!
Bella did have that cold and so I did wait that is until today!
You see Gus, our Havanese mix previous rescue had been older too, and his past was a mystery, and he went into Cudjo mode each and every time any doctor or groomer would go near him and so he had to be put under anesthesia for any of that the whole time we had had him until he passed away, and he did bite us both several times during the years we had had him! So that is why I was very careful with our older rescue Bella, especially when Animal Control had said she was aggressive, but not to us!
I sat her on a towel on the bench seat of my shower just like I do with Aussie so they don't slip off the marble tiles, thankfully these days Aussie jumps right up! At forty-four plus pounds and only ten months old that is a very nice jester on his part. Bella on the other hand is only ten pounds at three and half years old and not likely to gain more weight so she is quite manageable to lift.
My special shower also has a hand held shower head, which also enables me to spray our furry kids very easily.
I did use the same Hartz puppy tearless shampoo on her, although she is an adult, and she stood there as if she was enjoying the procedure and as with Aussie I promised her treats after a bribe of sort..., Milk Bones for their teeth is what they get!
I was able to determine better that she is in need of a manicure like Aussie had when we first saw her three weeks ago! I hope they are gentle with her there like Aussie who had been treated well.
Wonder why they did not cut her nails then. I guess the whole, "grooming thing" was just a bath, since her hair is quite long and perhaps a comb out, but not matted and she even enjoyed the cat brush, like I use on Aussie too!
No tangles at all!
Any-who, I did remove her harness that has been off only once before this day, and I did manage to wash it with her, ha!
It did dry very nicely outside, it is a designer one like her, being a Morkie, Maltese-Yorkie, ha, sooo fancy, who knew?
Anyway, hers the pink decorated felt flowered one with a realistic looking pearl in the center is none other than a Martha Stewart design, tagged and all! I was trying to find the washing instructions and that is why I know. As you may have noticed Bella has a heck of head and body of hair/fur so I hadn't noticed the name on her harness before was covered up by her shiny long flowing hair/fur!
No politics tonight.
Happy good night all!
Count those blessings and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

When she is a bit more used to me I think I might give her the puppy cut I used to give to our two Yorkies that the vet liked, all those years ago.
