Turkey soup is in the pressure cooker with wide no egg noodles and carrots, celery, onions, garlic, peas and mushrooms, mmmmmm.
Open faced turkey sandwiches were for lunch, soup is for dinner.
And yet the cut from the bone turkey has filled an entire long container, and it is the only part besides a bit of French cut string bean casserole still left, but now with more than a gallon of turkey soup!
What was I thinking? Although, Hubby bought the turkey breast!
Turkey sandwiches till New Year's?
No!
We will probably freeze it and take some out to make tetrazzini in the near or distant future or turkey pot pie?
Who knows.
Its always a decision to not waste food and what to do with leftovers and using them before they go bad.
In some ways ordering in can be cost effective since the portions are the right size, but not always.
In times like them we share a one serving(usually enormous) meal.
Feed the nation is what many have been doing, which is a wonderful organization.
Too bad we don't have a way to share all these leftovers, ya know?
Maybe someday there will be a hotline to do just that, seems like way too much, just a thought...
Any-who, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask all of you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know whom and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
