Storm last night!

We were out of power for five hours due to this mighty non tropical storm but with heavy winds and lightening. Not sure which got our over approximately twenty-five year old gorgeous Gardenia bush, it was here and well established way before us, and we have been in this home for nearly seventeen years.  So beautiful and fragrant and when we lost our oak tree in the front we planted another Gardenia bush there, since this one had made it through Hurricane Charley!Sad, but half is still there and hopefully it will live on as the almighty floral bank addition to our pond's natural decor. And yes the power came back on by ten, when the last report was that it would not be on till one A.M. We were the last of the homes in our area to have it go back on, some things never change.... same as after Charley, but then weeks later. But this was NO hurricane just a heavy windy storm, scary what we might be in for this summer with always the possibility of hurricanes, after all it is called our hurricane season, hmm?

Hubby and I tried hard to make the most of it, I was intuitive and made sure dinner was all cooked minutes before the power went out at five, amazing! We ate without artificial light since it was still early but a wee bit darker due to the storm, but when it ended the sky was bright again, which made the need for flash lights, not candles to be used when the dark naturally came after. We played Rumikub, but prior to that while Hubby cleaned up the tree since today was yard waste day along with garbage and recycling day, my laptop still was on battery power so I played quite a few rounds of solitaire as the house grew warmer. My body temperature nearly rose to 100 degrees F and I could not bring myself to open a window even with its cooler 70 degree F temperature since the humidity was 98%, the house grew hotter to 80 degrees and at that point if I moved my body would get too warm too probably due to my MS, yes due to that. So I got my cooling vest on and iced packs from the freezer and a cool drink of club soda and I was better. We do have two generators but they are both gasoline driven and when purchased gas was oh so much cheaper...so I opted to tough it out, since the time for the electric to go back on was not known for sure.
Frustration loomed large since every time I would call our FPL, Florida Power and Light, the only game in town so no changing providers if not happy, but we have always been happy, except for their bogus messages on their machines last night, first 2169 out of power, then 136, then 250 then 131? The specialist were in transit or there or again on their way or have isolated the problem and it will be fixed in the next few minutes, NOT! There was no order in the messages, and so I did opt to speak to a person,(hitting "0" several times seems to work) twice, first time she said it will be on in a couple of minutes and the next time, hours later, it was updated to one A.M., neither was correct.
This is NOT the FPL I recall who always got the problem fixed in a timely fashion and if anything they were done well before their predictions!

Any-who, by ten I was wiped out and did not feel like writing and so this is one of two that I will be writing today, hope you don't mind?

On that note please have a wonderful uneventful day, or one that's outcome is safe and happy and count all those blessings and share all those overages with you know whom and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!

PS Hubby found a tiny drip in the garage ceiling, he put a small bucket under it but only had a quarter inch of water accumulated in it, but when all was said and done the roof was examined and no change in our roof system could be found by eye sight, he will investigate more today being we seemed to be having less violent weather predicted for today, even with possible rain called for later on this afternoon.
