People are quite receptive to...

Positive behavior is always rewarded with decent 'Pollyannas' revelry, and when true feelings are expressed that might be negative the reaction is less than welcoming and believed that suppressing them is more preferential.

What message are we really sending to our children and grandchildren?
Never to feel badly and always 'act' happy?

It is true that all behaviors should be dealt with in a way of knowing that even though one could have a bad day or even more than one that not everyday will be such, but everyone has them.

And instead of denying people to feel and to verbally express negative thoughts could be more beneficial than expecting them to suppress them!

All these kids of late, who have become violent, live in a time that they are told to just deal with their problems, instead of teaching them problem solving in non-violent ways.

I think of a movie called "The Stepford Wives",http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stepford_Wives_(1975_film), the original; with a passable remake in 2004, and where all the women were programed to be obedient in every way without displaying any emotion. They were so-called improved duplications of the real thing.

I believe that teaching our young that
emotion is what makes us HUMAN!
And the ability to understand our full range of  behavior through those emotions, explained, is much desired.
Self control is something to be taught, but speaking aloud to tell how one feels I believe today needs to be taught as well.

And the most important part of this verbal exercise is to LISTEN to them!
The job of being a sounding board is a great one.
Never make a child feel stupid or be shocked by what they might say or how they say it, better with you than with strangers, right?

Oh I don't know, but something tells me that many of these youngsters doing these violent acts had no one to talk to, to air their dirty laundry, because our society has made it wrong to do so!

Come on folks maybe this sounds off the wall to some, but some of you should get it?
It's not the violence on the TV, our sons watched all those movies and shows and have never had violent tendencies, since they had the ability to talk, really just talk... I think we have to stop blaming everyone but ourselves, and LISTEN to our children, PERIOD!

Soapbox not included tonight, just not unlike you, horrified by what is going on in this world with children and too many adults with being so extremely violent and those adults that started out as, you guessed it, CHILDREN, being that way too!

On that of who knows what, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy or sad or mad or bad or nerve-racking or a good night; you get the idea, on me and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
