Saturday Night

Again, but for us on the south east coast and most of the rest of America tonight is… make that at two A.M. Sunday morning we have to set our clocks back one hour.

“The Origin of DST

Daylight saving time (DST) has been a subject of recurring debate in the United States, the United Kingdom, and many other countries around the world for about a hundred years. Ancient civilizations were known to practice a similar process of the concept of DST where they would adjust their daily schedules in accordance to the sun, such as the Roman water clocks that used different scales for different months of the year.
The idea of daylight saving time was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 during his stay in Paris. He published an essay titled “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light” that proposed to economize the use of candles by rising earlier to make use of the morning sunlight.
Although many believe that Benjamin Franklin invented DST, some say that modern DST was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson, an entomologist from New Zealand. Hudson presented a paper to the Wellington Philosophical Society that proposed a two-hour shift forward in October and a two-hour shift back in March. He followed up his proposal with an article in 1898, and although there was interest in the idea, it was never followed through.”

Two United States do not utilize this practice, Arizona and Hawaii.
For most people this twice a year event is a good reminder to check your smoke alarms batteries.

“The Invention of DST

The invention of DST was mainly credited to William Willett in 1905 when he came up with the idea of moving the clocks forward in the summer to take advantage of the daylight in the mornings and the lighter evenings. His proposal suggested moving the clocks 20 minutes forward each of four Sundays in April, and switching them back by the same amount on four Sundays in September.”

Moving on…
Tonight’s entry may be cut short… I seem to be experiencing some sharp headaches, well not sharp, piercing, now dull…?
It’s sporadic, so as long as it is intermittent I suspect it just means that the drug I am using is working?
Who knows…? I just popped my after dinner steroid dose with my Nexium and Pepcid and I was told that it is supposed to be okay; I did it before without a problem…those drugs DO NOT INTERACT!
Crazy at my age, all these drugs, prescribed that is by medical professionals…doctors after all!
Let’s get out of this ditch… this afternoon I received another nice reminder that my PCIP insurance will be gone bye, bye, done, defunct, over with deserting me, at the end of this coming December 31.13!
As if I could forget such a thing.
And they even enclosed a link to a site, that maybe new to some, but NOT to me… https://www.healthcare.gov/what-if-i-have-pcip-coverage/
Warning me that I have only to December 15.2013 to sign up for continuing coverage in January; gosh, really?
Sorry folks but this is annoying and I have been getting many agents working with me all week on this particular topic, so far Florida Blue Platinum is actually the best deal for the most coverage, far superior to what I have now, due to my entitlements, with it coming in at a mere fourteen dollars a month more than the junk that I have now.
I pay $432 a month now for my pre-existing insurance with a $500 deductible on medication yearly before starting my eventual $10 for a three month supply of generics, my specialty meds are covered by assistance, since one of my MS, Multiple Sclerosis, meds is $6K a month, yep that's right, six thousand dollars a month, even the co-pay was nearly three thousand for a three month supply, and the other is direct from the pharmaceutical company, my stomach med., and a 30/70 split on all else with a $2000 deductible as well per incident. Although, doctor visits are $25 for both GPS and specialists; the new plan will be even with my subsidy of $321 a month that we have established for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in our state will come out to $446 a month, for 10/90 split, with an $850 deductible then the 10/90, and $20 for both GPS and specialists and a $0 deductible for prescriptions and much more and this is for the Platinum!
So far they have beaten out Humana and United Health Care for the best deals, and yet I still have three people/agents working on it for me.
Medicare wise though Hubby is extremely happy with his Humana Gold Plus and in a year and a half from all this craziness I will have that ability to choose Medicare programs too.
See, I do look to the future, ha!
Right now, I am living in the present though.
And my sharp somewhat piercing now dull aching head is asking for me to take a break… it’s the eye thingy, yep, my eye, i.e. lefty, is causing my head pain, sure enough!
Be right back?
All typos are now the fault of the thickened eye-drops I just installed in my baby blues, yes that’s rright mine a blue!
This choice was the lesser of the three evil choices I have the thickest is the slave like goop I am supposed to use at bedtime, since once installed into your globules of soft tissue windows on/to the world peepers it makes it like London fog so thick you can’t cut it with a knife and hazard anyway without any sight with sore eyes, ha!
How’s my typos?
Any?
Many?
This touch and peck thing that you are supposed to know where everything is, even without looking on all keyboards, hmm?
Funny how I took typing when a conscientious twelve year olf going into junior high and felt it was so important that course, but the teacher had to keep moving me to a keyboard/typewriter that its letters were all covered up… you see, I kept peeking…!
Odd how things turn out, but those were set up different anyway.
So do we have a blog?
I think I did it!

On that note of being able to do tall orders with a bit of a challenge, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
