In the clear!

The storm came through earlier today.

Why?

Who knows?

It’s none of my business; huh?

I jest, but there was a time that here, historically in ‘our Florida’ that you could nearly set your watch to the time that our summer storms would come on in…must be, ‘Global Warming’ that changed that…Why not blame it for that too; we seem to blame it for everything else these days, hmm? Makes sense to me and you too I bet, not joking here.

Yep, but don’t ask what that time of day was to the minute that those storms came in, although it was an afternoon event and daily too!

Tourists would be in the hotel pools after lunch and then the lifeguards would tell/yell to them to get out! Lightening you know; better yet thunder and lightening, bad, dangerous killer stuff that lightening is…

We are the lightening capital of the world, here in Florida that is…

I am pretty darn sure that was said encompassing this whole dang state, not just in my minuscule realm, in southwest Florida.

It’s the idea that we have fun all year long, but more so in our extended summers, more warmth nearly six/ten months' worth, yep.

People golf and get zapped, fish off docks and boats, swim and get electrified, children and adults play soccer, baseball and all those other outdoor events and gosh they get tickled and survive or get worse and die, by those shocking natural systems coming in!

Warnings and safety procedures should be respected, thunder means get inside and stay away from windows, and be sure to have those surge protectors on all electronics or they could get fried or better yet turn them off while unplugging!

And don’t think that just an umbrella will save you from LIGHTENING; what are you crazy? Especially, when most have metal shafts? Thinking about it, it’s like a lightening rod with your delicate hands touching it?

Some now do have fiberglass shafts and we do own one of those, but the part that extends the actual umbrella itself is still metal; what’s with that, really?

Rain gear is smart, but only if you are heading indoors, still not the best way to handle lightening!

It never fails, at least a few times a year it makes the news that some poor soul didn’t respect the thunder or those mighty clashes or tried that stupid counting of in between those two, any meteorologist will tell you that is not an accurate way to tell your susceptibility to its forthcoming danger or people’s warnings and who ended up, must I say it? Sadly, a goner.

Don’t tell me that you were devil make care and did not heed the warnings and now that you are paying the price by haunting me or laid up in a hospital room when all you were doing was having some summer fun?

I just wanted to get my punch in to disgrace our fine state of first believed injustice from votes to people’s lives to allowing others to toss their pets into our Everglades creating too many where their were none of those damn pythons here ever before, or pepper trees or Cuban tree frogs or fresh water being sent into the Caloosehatchee River causing murky brown waters when it mingles with the salty taking months to clear, from Lake Okeechobee, due to all the rain that we have had and if Lake Okeechobee dikes breach thirty-five thousand people and their homes would be flooded surrounding it and devastation not unlike what Hurricane Katrina caused in 2005 in New Orleans losing thousand of lives, but gosh that muddy water is scaring off the tourists, which in truth is our number one income for this state, second is citrus sales…So disturbed business people are going up to Tallahassee, our state capital, to see our Gov. Scott to ask him to come up with a way to appease everyone, HUH?

He’s not the Wizard of OZ!

My point is that we have issues too and there is no state in this country that doesn’t, and any of you who say otherwise you are just plain dishonest, sorry, but oh so true!

The world, itself is in big trouble with war torn countries, and the economy, not just here the economy that is, but everywhere!

And so, I am here to say, sure we have problems as individuals, communities, states, countries, but who hasn’t?

And in time, many of these major issues will level off or end or get worse or get better…who knows and we all care way too much, some not enough, don’t we?

BREATHE and think clearly and perhaps the answer will come to you, since… right now I am at a loss…tag you’re it, solve it!

On that note of some note with a bit of silly added in due to when we lose our sense of humor that is when this world we share will definitely go to hell in a hand basket, so mark my works, and allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!
