Cursor winking at me over and over...

It doesn’t happen often but it does happen.
I am drawing a blank; now what does that mean, really?

Is that what is above, blank enough?
Blank is nothingness, correct?

To draw a “blank” definition below:

“[blangk] Show IPA adjective, blank·er, blank·est, noun, verb
adjective
1.
(of paper or other writing surface) having no marks; not written or printed on: a blank sheet of paper.
2.
not filled in, as a printed form: a blank check.
3.

4.
lacking some usual or completing feature: a blank roll of film.
5.
(of a recording medium) containing no previously recorded information: a blank videocassette; a blank floppy disk.  Compare prerecorded.
6.

7.
showing no attention, interest, or emotion: a blank expression on his face.
8.
disconcerted; nonplussed; speechless: He looked blank when I asked him why he applied for the job.
9.
complete; utter; unmitigated: blank stupidity.
10.
Archaic. white; pale; colorless.”

Gosh, who would have thunk that there was such a thing to be so succinctly defined, hmm?
I suppose now that I have embarrassed myself enough into having to write a bit about this amazing phenomenon.
Shall I venture further to see if even this simplistic defining mechanism has a word about blank, I say why not?
This archaic Thesaurus contained in this ancient word program only could come up with the opposite of to draw a blank! No wonder my dependence on it spelling and grammar checking my work is left needing more…well, that explains a lot!
Methinks it does not speak English, ha?

Moving on…
While my blanked-ness was occurring a light bulb went off in my somewhat dotty brain and it said this is not what I want to be wasting your or my time on this evening and so… I found, thought of, another not too interesting topic to waste our time together on here, got that?

Our day! Today I had a rather warped idea, not really warped but odd, well not odd, perhaps not usual, that’s the ticket!
Not that unusual! I hear you all shouting!
Please keep it down, actually, I can’t hear you at all, but I do enjoy saying it like I do, ha!
Have you ever felt that you would like to turn the tables on someone you truly cared about?
I mean in a good fun way?
As I mentioned last night our eldest son, the one that that I have nicked name 'number one son', too many Charlie Chan movies in my youth I suspect, plus he is so wonderful it seems to fit, any-who, he and his girlfriend will be coming down tomorrow to celebrate Mother’s Day a day early due to his early schedule on Monday and they live quite a ways away. His birthday is at the end of this month and we don’t travel far anymore, only in our ten miles radius due to our ills, but also since our nearly twelve year old car only gets around twelve miles to the gallon…and he does understand. By the fall we really hope that we will be able to afford another new one, since Hubby’s dental work will be all done being paid for by then.
So I decided that why not turn the tables on him and celebrate his birthday tomorrow too?
And that is what we did today, got him a card and an ice cream cake, like we always did for him since he was a year old with him having the beginning of summer birthday and all, especially up north. And we even bought him a gift too!
This is going to be good… he doesn’t read my blog, at least he says he doesn’t spend that much time online since he is busy doing other things; so I really think telling you is just fine. Please don't say anything to him, please...
He doesn’t like, dare I say, Facebook?
And this is from a kid who along with his brother taught us way back in 1982 how to set up our three hundred business clients on our first computer all those years ago. He has built them for himself, i.e. computers, removed glitches etc. he just doesn’t care for social media although I do know he used to use his religiously, but with the advent of his several generations of his high tech cell phones and more compact forms of computerization, which I do believe he subscribes too, I suspect his priorities are different from Hubby’s and mine. To him and his cohorts we are living in the techno marvel dark ages with our PC and dumb phones.

So tell me what you think?
Nah, you don’t have to, but I am feeling very good about this… and isn’t that the definition of joy?
Sadly, we have been in recent years either mailing his birthday card with a check or gift cards, so cold, yep.
Now it’s like the old days… In those days we had quite large family parties and then kiddy parties.
For the family we always had a barbeque with chicken, corn on the cob and a big salad with ice cream cake for desert!
That went on for years.
Miss it.
Children grow up and move away and parents sometimes can’t go where they really want to go… to them…

Oh well, tomorrow will be different and we are going to have the BEST DAY EVER!
On that very happy note, allow me to be the very first to wish all of you a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages with you know who and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
