Another step in my journey, oh wait that should be...

Upward and onward!
This morning was action packed.
It began with the pole people here to change out our telephone pole for a newer one that was in better shape and hopefully will last through the up and coming hurricane season in about six weeks.
Good thing too, since if it fell, it could end up falling on our house!
They knocked on our front door just before nine A.M. to let us know that we would be without power for a couple of hours in about an hour from then.
And so I got into the shower due to needing to use the hair dryer for my wet hair since today was a rehab day. Yes, I showered before since with what I am doing so far I do not get all sweaty and I can recall that warming up muscles before doing strenuous activities was recommended in my previous training to prevent injury. And yes, that usually does mean two showers may very well be taken in the future if I ever get to the point of building up a sweat, one can only hope I will get to that point!
I must admit I am more than proud to announce that I did do very good today, just my second…drum roll please… I did five whole minutes on the arm-cycle and twenty-five reps on the slant board!
At this rate I may get to run that 5K within the year, or two? Wouldn’t that be a heck of a comeback?
Actually, I have this more realistic idea to get myself back in shape for our fiftieth anniversary in a little more than seven years.
I know it could go the other way and fast, especially if I overdue and set myself back.
The reason that I have given myself so many years, which to many might sound ridiculously and an under expectation wise, but it took me about that long to get into this predicament and I thought it only fair to think that I should take that long to get out of it?
Of course I would be very happy if I can accelerate the whole process, but with the MS heat sensitivity I truly feel taking it slow may be more prudently appropriate and make me succeed.

From my successful exercise routine we drove onward to the Cultural Center and we thought we were going there for a look see at their Trash or Treasure department and perhaps a reasonably priced lunch, but when we arrived it was difficult to find a parking spot; never mind a handicap one! Something was going on, “Today is a day of fun, prizes, food and good times with the Lifestyles after 50 event at the Cultural Center. From 10-3 there will be vendors, doctors, music and prizes and freebies. Stop on by to be a part of it all!” Is what their Facebook blurb said on my Port Charlotte page that I had missed, until now.
We did go through the whole shebang and once again I am sorry I did not bring my camera. This was a happening worth photographing with everything from healthy food products to travel to health care providers to individual body part care items, meaning hearing, and feet and back mostly! Do they know their over fifty crowd, you betcha!
And we did stop for a lunch once again, in their deli cafeteria and then to their Trash or Treasure shop and this time I found a cotton blouse for my navy slacks for my exercise clothing wardrobe, which is tiny, so far four blouses and two pairs of slacks, black and navy. This additional fourth blouse was nautical in style, red and white stripes with a tiny American flag embossed emblem, which I always found to be my fav and a bargain at just four bucks!
On that note of a better day note, see I do subscribe to the theory that if one day stinks there is always another and that next one could prove to be terrific so that is why we must always go on…allow me now to wish all of you a very happy good night with that, huh, to think about and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all those overages with you know who and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?!
