In conversations that I keep trying to figure out, have you found when being the asker or the asked do you listen to the answer to the question set into motion by yours or the other party’s request?
Now, this is a touchy subject because most will say if they are discussing something of importance of course they do and will…but in small talk I do not believe that many people really listen to one another, could I be onto something here or just blowing smoke into the wind?
Actually, I will answer my own question as if you asked it of me, and I will say NO!
Some may believe that is rather harsh… but the truth can be that way, and to that I say GROW UP!
We went to the Home and Garden Show at our local Charlotte Harbor Events and Conference Center in River City AKA Punta Gorda, today and the same displays were there from local or semi-local venders from all over the tri-county or more area.
In my mind I wanted to see something new and inventive, but alas it was nothing like the ones the networks show in major cities, but to be fair I should know better since we go every year.
No, it was not disappointing at all, they all were very happy to try to get your attention except for a few that annoyed me… they ignored me as if I were not there at all.
Not nice, and I rode, faster on my blue beauty as I passed just insolence, since they hurt my feelings being that I was not accosted by these hawkers of their modern day wares to sell to anyone who may buy them, but me?
I was dressed appropriately in my denim dress and white blouse atop it with my Beall’s stone jewelry on each ear and necklace too. Many don’t know that it is an outlet product, but I am a great shopper. A jeweler once told me that she could not make it for what I paid for it, and that she liked it every much and so I have good taste too with built in shop-ability!
Any-who, listening, to people is where I was heading, but our day was actually only about and hour and half at the show and then lunch at Dean’s South of the Border restaurant we had tasty morsels of Mexican food which is becoming harder to find on their menu, it appears they have just as much American cuisine…!
The day did prove to be very warm and we had to park in Osh Kosh, my reference to faraway, although our sons did wear that brand as toddlers… the reason I mentioned this is
Because I left my cooling vest in the car but rode fast to the entrance while Hubby understood and thought I should wear the vest, but it was borderline hot, and so I declined.
Lately, I have been getting what almost looks like frost bite on my exposed skin from when the cold touches it and so I will have to figure that one out…
Oh yes, LISTENING!
I am still working on that and we did bump into our new neighbors’ from across the canal to the right of the Canadian ones that left to go home and this year I was sort of happy about that… These new neighbors are year round ones and originally from Las Vegas.
Hubby has been talking to the woman’s Hubby and I did not remember them from the get together a while back…oh well, but they were friendly.
I must be the one and only person who doesn’t listen so well?
But I am seriously working on that as we all should…
Sadly, my shoulders are not any better and it has been quite difficult writing again this evening, if I didn’t love this writing out loud thingy so much I sure wouldn’t torture my body as I am doing and so on this self misery of stupidity…allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and ask you to kindly count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
