And so if any one is keeping track, yesterday morning, I was accepted to become a volunteer for the free clinic.
In recent years it seems that wasn’t necessary at least I never before recall having to do that but now even to volunteer one must be finger printed and in turn that is how you are checked out by the FBI data base, and for some reason, beyond my knowledge and the health department’s fine finger printing machine... You know the one, the fifteen thousand dollar high tech one, well; my little fingers did not register!
Now, I wonder when they said that when we get older our circulation doesn’t stream down to our extremities as well as it should. And the sweet woman, Betty, who took my finger prints felt that due to the machines buzzing each time that she could override it and just keep trying, which due to a high tolerance for patience that gal did continue, but apparently to no avail!
But even with what I told you all yesterday about her difficulty factor with my itsy bitsy finger tips not apparently showing up I have been asked for a return try at attaining this vital information to make sure that I am on the up and up and that I am no criminal, hmm? (Gosh, I tried to do my Nixon impersonation, but you can’t hear me!)
I can see if you are dealing with people in all situations that it is a worthwhile concept to verify who they are asking to help out, but I was told I would be working with another woman as her assistant in a back room mostly with attaining how-to info to acquire help to help patients get the medical aid that they need, not actually working with the people themselves… but as we all know it is better to be safe instead of sorry, but I know I am safe, and now they have to, too!
Although, since I did not have any introductory information on what I will be doing yet, it is definitely a supposition on my part… not an assumption, aha, got ya!
In a way… it is sort of nice to think that I still have a delicate part to my body, yes, even if it is just my finger tips.
Rather than thinking I have a circulatory issue or even that my Multiple Sclerosis has anything to do with it, since I do have numbness there as well as other parts of me, who knows...!
At least now I can go back with my social security card that I had forgotten last time too, all I had was my picture I.D. which had replaced my driver’s license from last year.
I think the fingerprint machine is shared though with all the offices in the county, since they only have it at ours on one day a week, and so that is when I was asked to make my return trip.
Of course, I said sure, what would you say?
It just threw me when the woman who does the test said that there was a problem with my fingerprints… sounds ominous to you too, I bet! So the pause was pregnant and I almost thought that my avulsion injury to my thumb last September got my fingerprints mixed up with a known felon’s? Kidding, most of my fingers have gone through the mill due to cooking, having a restaurant and a family too and gardening incidents and accidents in my other life, meaning more wellness life of an action type lifestyle.
Any-who, she just said that the compression was too light and did not register properly, as heavy as I have become all over the rest of me it was kinda nice to hear that one part was too light, bud dump, bum! BIG SMILE HERE!
So on that little bit of intrigue into my not too exciting life, stay tuned for by next week we will learn if I am an okay choice to volunteer that will be FBI approved by sometime next week I suppose, or not…:-0
Wouldn’t that be something, me being wanted for something other than trying hard to live and write and entertain and inform here nightly with sharing…oh my and a giant oh wait to see what we may see…mystery is my middle name, or was for a very short time a few years really if that…anyway, allow me to be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you kindly to count all your blessings and share all your overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
PS No info on Miss Clara yet as soon as I know I will pass that info on to all of you, today was her surgery and ye ole chum has not reported back yet… but soon I do hope.
