Here’s the thing… I was thinking, I know, and yes I do, wow, she does that, huh? LOL!
Yes, I do, do that on rare occasions before writing my train of conscientious format here.
Tonight it was becoming slightly difficult to come up with something not as whiney as I seem to have been over these last few days, weeks, months...yes even years…
But being a human we all have those moments, don’t we?
Come on, you know you do too!
Oh, all right, moving on… what I was trying to figure out, now don’t laugh; I was thinking about what makes me think about my happy times?
And I keep coming back to when our sons were small and hysterically funny without knowing they were.
Those were the days…
Our eldest son now closer to forty years old now than a toddler that he was when he used to call the newspaper comics, ‘The Happies!’; while our younger son made me split my sides when he rode his bicycle into our garage racing against all time looking for the insect spray can because a neighbor was, ‘bugging him!’, and he needed it to stop them!
They both played guitars and pianos, keyboards, drums and one even had a rock band and they would practice at our home… and were oh so loud, but I loved it!
Oh what joy those days were and how fast they passed.
We took our youngins camping to Hershey and Langhorne, and New Hope trips, as well as down the Chesapeake to stay and fish and crab. On rainy days we would go to museums, and let us not forget all those Lake Fairfax trips just outside of D.C. to go to those Smithsonian’s too! Disney nearly yearly before moving to Florida and the Space Coast, Busch and Key West and our visits were more often once we were living here fulltime… and on and on.
Let’s not forget that amazing trip with six hundred scouts to West Point, boy what fun! Of course there were so much more since we were boaters and they water-skied and were surfers and SCUBA and snorkerlers, soccer players and volley ball players and racket ball and tennis players etc., and on and on… what a great time was had by all!
Oh how I miss it …those oh so fond memories.
And I promise not to take the grandparent poor me route, but if the next generation were here wouldn’t we still be enjoying all of that? I do so wonder…who knows… I am not psychic, but hopeful, perhaps someday!
Today we did go out into the world to the big warehouse club for a few necessities and gas, which there was six whole cents cheaper than the rest on the road trip to there, less than five miles from our home. And I did finish my Patricia Cornwell book but gosh it took so long for me to read with me stopping and starting due to my eye problems, and it was due back today! Way too long for completion.
I guess what I should have said is just this, “I finished the book I started!”
And leave it at that, nah, not my way.
Tonight is going to be a shorty, as I said my desire to be upbeat was thwarted by myself; how ironic, huh?
And so let me please be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to kindly ask you to count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!
Please next time, find the time to be here or be square, ya hear?
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.
