When I wrote my column last night I wrote that two people were discharged from their employment with a local media firm. WOW, am I good at CYA (‘covering your ass’, for those not familiar with that technical expressive acronym) or what? And I don’t even have a legal department to refer to; euphemisms are me all on my own.
Specificity is extremely important when reporting on the news or weather but I do neither here, only minute touches here and there periodically, but who would believe me, I ask you, really? Most people would say that I don’t even give a lot of information regularly, but I should remind you all that this poppycock is nothing more than an exercise in me seeing my mind working (still or not) in print …HA!
And so even though I was not accurate in what had happened, only one of the men was actually fired, the first one I mentioned over a week ago the other has told this person, can’t call myself a reporter although that is what I actually do here, ‘report’, that it was his choice to move on to the farthest western coast state in these U S of A, oh wait no make that the contiguous United States, not Alaska.
He also let me know that he has family there as well, and so I wished him good luck and told him that Hubby and I do have family where he will be going too… all the way over there…
It’s NOT Siberia and we already established that! But a rainy nasty cold weather state most all of the year long; great for those of the weatherman persuasion actually. He will have more to report nightly I imagine than here where our weather is pretty much perfect most all of the year!
Kids, what can you tell them; he is younger than either of our sons and so I can call him that I think, but who really knows these days.
Moving on…
Last night was movie night here at Hubby and Tobi’s domain, complete with popcorn!
The flick that I had been waiting for, and it did seem like forever was, ‘Burlesque’, and all I can say is: UN-B-Leave-ABLE! Christina Aguilera was that show stopping talent that comes along only once in a few decades! Amazing, she has the chops and range of Cher who still is an incredible show stopper herself even at this age; what powerful voices that stole the show; it gave me chills with each note sung. The supporting cast especially Stanley Tucci who was a strong lovable friend to Tess and also the house seamstress who just so happened to be gay was not played over the top; he played it just right, which made him endearing not at all comically misrepresented or disrespectful. The dancing was superb and reminded me of a Bob Fosse production, it had everything that I enjoy and miss.
In actuality we do have a weekly movie but not all are worth mentioning here, since I would hate to pan it without the credentials one with that nasty attitude has to make others not want to go see it or rent it or buy it, boy am I full of myself … what am I CRAZY? Don’t answer that, please… I don’t wield that much power over my followers’ decision making; or do I? NAH!
You all have excellent minds of your own, sure you do…
Like me!
Any-who to close tonight I would like to say that everyone has the right to discuss their feelings about things in life they don’t like, but remember that we should all go to the source when needing to know the facts behind a particular situation, and asking directly the person or people involved but be aware sometimes it could be a little, and I mean a very little like speaking to the almighty he/she themselves, the answer may be silence…hmm...
On that note of another observation of mine about life and all of this stuff (I just made circles with my wide open hands), I just think that everything goes around comes around, or some such thing…ha! Is that the ‘circle of life’ I hear so much about?
With that absurd ending to a ridiculous expression of my mind's eye… let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to ask you to kindly count all those blessings and share those overages and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
PS Remember this is not a smart person who writes these, why I am considered a functional illiterate in some circles; whoa there’s that circle of life once again, kidding. But please realize that when I see a mistake even from years ago on this blog I try my darndest to fix it and have recently done so to a few that some have felt the necessity to read once more, and thanks for that, read on peeps!
Speaking My Mind is about: Tobi, who is a middle aged, no, oh all right a slightly over the hill woman with all the imperfections that go with that, and this concerns her daily life's perceptions and experiences.
