Smile

Did any of you ever have a day when you thought that since I am going to such and such a place that all you would do is make sure you wore the most important accessory to any great day, a smile?
Try it; you’ll like it, it’s a freebie and I do it as often as I can.
Besides I found it to be contagious once you get that all so important first smiling face back at you; you will be hooked and they will be too!

Oddly enough this is not an original idea of mine, oh no I have heard, but only perhaps a rumor that others have been known to do it…OMG, you say!
One of my sayings I used to tell my senior ladies and gentlemen when in the pool teaching my Aquacize class was that they should smile more since it takes less muscles to smile than to frown and when you do it, it fools the brain into thinking you’re happy no matter how your day might have been going, try it you may very well like it!
And then you know what would happen?
Yep, you got that right… I would have ten or twenty smiling faces back at me!
That contagion would set in and I would hear about how like wildfire frenzy others not in the waters would be doing it too, smiling that is!

Happiness comes from within. And even on our darkest days we can think of better times and make that day so much more improved with a positive uplifting memory.

Today we just went to our local grocery to pick up odds and ends, this and that’s… and I made sure I was dressed nicely and fixed my hair and put on my makeup just to feel good and of course I wore my best accessory a big smile, and received many in return. It’s a foolproof way to get them back at you!
My motto has always been look good, feel good.
Any-who, I sort of remember something of that nature being done for cancer patients going through chemo with wigs and makeup; silly as that sounds to some surprisingly it does work!
Patients have shown improvement when they don’t need to worry so much about their hair falling out and their pallid skin if only for a short respite. I have heard that it really does bring a smile to a previously saddened face, a true wow! How great is that?

So that was my partial motivation for my own ‘smile campaign’ and I think that if someone is so seriously ill and can find comfort in looking at themselves in the mirror with knowing that they can smile and go out into the world why can’t the rest of the peeps in this world!
We all need that feeling of acceptance and who would be rude enough to say anything negative to a smiling face; think about it, huh?

Now this is wild but I think we can all do it… yes you can!
Smile as much as you can for the next two days at work and everywhere you go too and as an experiment see what the results are and get back to me with them; OK?
And perhaps we can all start an ‘international smile campaign’ and make the world a happier place to be in, what do you all say? I say HOORAY!

On that note of a wee bit of silliness but also honesty in an idea that I would love to hear back if you find it works out as well as I think it will… let me be the first to wish you all a very happy good night and to all kindly count those blessings and share those overages and we will too!

And next time please be here or be square, ya hear?
