Today, I am finally back on track with this Blog anyway, I had another crafty idea.
This one was in juxtaposition due to the previous welcome sign of a week ago.
When one or two of us welcome our guests to our homes we should also remember to say goodbye too, right?
As we get older, the memory does seem to forget quite a lot of stuff, and it is not unusual in the haste or sadness of a guest to your dwelling may very well not realize how much you appreciated their visit, true?
And so, I felt the need to make another sign expressing those feelings for all the peeps that may stop by. This one is brief and to the point, “Good-bye and So-Long,” for those who prefer farewell, did you know that ‘so long’, circa 1854, means the same thing? But unfortunately, I am out of ‘E’s’, again! I even had to cut an ‘F’ to make another ‘L’, would you believe?
To express my sadness I even took to using the circular wooden pieces and made two faces, like smiley faces and painted them yellow and drew on frowns with sad eyes and even tears by using a black Sharpie. This one is shaped on a round eleven inch board Hubby cut from wood we had, more recycling, and it is over the front door to look at when you exit, but I bet you all knew that.
The color palette this time was bright orange, yellow, and apple green with a white background; it looks a little like another eye chart for Optic Neuritis, the welcome sign was in pink, blue, white and purple with the same dotted affect.
I enjoy color it’s so cheerful; don’t you think?
These mini projects keep me out of trouble and happy to see the results, which is tangible evidence that I still have something in my head, other than junk, OK?
Besides who knows when people find these little silly signs of mine in an archaeological dig in a hundred or two hundred or more years from now they may think how pleasant a race we humans were?
Our weather was worth bragging rights again today. We had upper seventies again with low humidity; windows were open again of course. It’s so nice to be able to turn off the heat these last two days and air out our home! This electric bill is sure to be a whopper; it seems that up until yesterday it was going full force for all these horribly cold days.
I hope we don’t get sticker shock.
Hubby is slowly fixing the sea wall, but it is quite a job and the cold did interfere, and with his bad back slower is better. He has been reading avidly on his breaks, more than me I must admit. I am still not back to that voracious reading mode that I was in before. My eye is still healing and gets tired but I have been reading articles in our magazines more thoroughly. Those drops that I am putting in are prednisone, an antibiotic and an anti inflammatory, three to four times a day, the one is done after today though but the other two are till they are gone, all topical drops.
Good night to all and please take care, count those blessings and we will too!
