Yesterday we did go out and the object of our journey was to spend our Holiday money foolishly and recklessly! I had forgotten to discuss it here due to that upsetting in-law phone call, and so here you have it for tonight’s Blog.
And so once we cashed our checks at the bank drive through we went on to my favorite outlet store, Bealls, a southern fave.
My article of desire this time was to find a small boat to fit into the décor of my bathroom atop my cabinet above the toilet, which had recently changed slightly with the removal of the silk vines and the metal flamingo who was repositioned in the living room with his other avian contemporaries, and if I do say so myself he/she looks just marvelous there!
The boat Hubby found on the clearance shelve was all wooden blue and white colored with a natural canvas sail adorned with a fish appliqué in navy blue and matching to the boat, wooden stand, and it was marked $16.99 but with its 30% off which brought it down to $11.89, and even with the discounted $1.49 white frame that I also found and with my additional 15% Monday’s special discount for us fifty and over setters, the total came to only $12.17 with tax included, what a deal!
I love smart shopping and great deals, don’t you?
Our next stop was to go to Jo-Ann’s Fabrics and Crafts. I have been trying to find additional wooden letters in the two inch scale in the Times Roman font, but they didn’t have them; my problem is I always seem to run out of ‘E’s does anyone else?
They have lotsa fun things in there, and I did stock up on some of my missing acrylic paints.
Then we went to lunch at a little hole in the strip mall wall, an Italian restaurant, which I assumed was just a pizza joint, but it was so much more, a deli, as well as a very unique sit down luncheonette type diner with many more choices other than pizza.
I ordered a cup of pasta fazoul and side salad; please forgive any misspellings my Italian friends, but you get the gist. Hubby ordered a meatball sub, we both had coffee, and yes it was early enough for me, before 2 P.M. it was around 12:30 ish!
Our last stop was to find a sympathy card to send to Hubby’s cousin on the death of her 95 year old Mom, and we accomplished that at our grocery, Publix, which carries a lot of stuff besides groceries. All missions were almost completed, but Hubby chose to spend his gift at a later date.
I must admit that even though we just went out for a few hours it was great to just go and do something different for a change, always in my opinion.
Good night to all and to all count those blessing and we will too!
