The one thing that caused the problem was Hubby's exhaustion, due mostly to his five rounds of radiation all week. I was in my motorized wheelchair but Hubby was just using a cane. My chair is so heavy even with Hubby using the manual ramp driving it up and down at three hundred plus pounds it's a job and a half.
And when you are going through cancer as he is I feel bad about that... and so when we came home we looked on Amazon for two lightweight mobility aids.
For Hubby a lightweight scooter of all of fifty pounds and for me a lightweight smaller motorized wheelchair of thirty pounds used by Olympians! (approved by airlines, not that we will be flying anywhere with three fur babies!)
Now I could sell my BIG Chair if not donate it? But will keep it for a few months to make sure this is going to work.
We ordered the two. They are considerably less money than my one BIG Chair by thousands of dollars that Medicare paid for, but they only pay for that kind... I have had this one for nearly three years and the previous one for six... they feel you get five years out of them.
With all my falls in the house, the walker doesn't cut it anymore, even my neurologist is worried about me. The last one caused me to need staples in my skull! The balance issue has three to four possible causes three medicines I need to take have dizziness as a side effect and of course so does Multiple sclerosis!
The BIG chair did not fit through our 1958 doorways too complicated to enlarge due to electrical outlets/light switches but the new chair is considerably narrower less than 24" in width, 23.6" to be exact it should be easy to get through with its good turning radius.
So that is that... they will be coming at the end of this month.
Allow me to introduce you to the crew...
