Flood water of nearly a foot and a half!
Wind damage tore down the fence on the west side of our home, which Hubby had installed way back in 1998! No other of the three hurricanes before these last two had taken it down, and Hubby has already rebuilt that!
The wall in the foyer that the nasty City Furniture delivery man destroyed, which Hubby also did a great job repairing! City Furniture never admitted that he did it, and all they did was take a little off as a discount on the couch recliner we had purchased! It miraculously survived the maltreatment of its box!
That recliner couch and two chairs from elsewhere another white leather couch we all helped assemble and then they were placed by Hubby. Number One Son came down to help with the new stackable washer and dryer which are extremely heavy!
Fortunately, the new refrigerator was on wheels and went into place, and so was the garage freezer!
The saltwater surge had its way with all of its predecessors so out to the curb it all went!
The luxury vinyl flooring is guaranteed for life, but we have not heard yet if, in acts of G-d, they are too.
Hubby brought back two more than the $600 additional ten boxes he bought to repair the floor, a return of $186 + for the two full boxes closed with seven pieces in each.
We charged everything we needed to remain in our home, and we were fortunate enough that we had funds to pay that bill if it was a while until our insurance kicked in and it did in the nick of time!
So far we received just under 16K 13k was the advance from FEMA for all flood damage, our lower kitchen cabinets are crumbling and they could be the most expensive replacement, our dishwasher is history! the stove is working but the saltwater has damaged its exterior and rust has started to be its enemy! The difference in the sum is due to the pittance that Tower Hill our homeowners paid since the two hurricanes were flood issues, not wind issues, so they paid us $2300+, $600 less than this year's premium coverage by them, interesting, hmm?
Flushing with regular water was delayed due to being evacuated.
And yes they are in my bill payer to be paid for the year due to fear of being cancelled!
Even though we own our home outright it is best to get the coverage here for homeowners and flood! The flood we must have due to the location of our home being on a saltwater canal. And FEMA has been our insurance company for years. I am sure their premium will be going up too. That is why we felt we had to pay off our home that gives us wiggle room with finances slightly, less worry! With all our health issues!
Allow me to introduce you to the crew...
