Systane Ultra high-potency dry eye relief has been recalled because it can cause a fungal infection, which could lead to needing a corneal transplant! My eyes have been blurry, sticky, and irritated for the last few days, so my first thought is that my dry eyes need more drops. And my eye doctor, who passed away last year, said I can use them as often as I need them. Never thinking anything nefarious could be going on...! NOT MINE!!!!
I have been using this product for years. Mine was bought just before the recall, Which I eventually saw on the TV news, I did not know about it. I was quite concerned when I found out and went to check, and the lot number had been covered over and unable to be seen!
Again since it was Sunday I called the non-emergency number at "Poison Control" to find out anything I may have missed and ask what they think I should do, I knew... toss it! But I would like to know if mine has a fungal-causing infection in it?
... I should get to an eye doctor as soon as possible!
That is my today's adventure that I did not ask for and did not want but true in every way!
TTYT?
Allow me to introduce you to the crew...
