Right this minute anyway, or perhaps I should say as I write this now at this very moment!
It's the weather that I am speaking about its all the rage as the kids say,(Maybe a century or two ago.) anyway a timely conversation when not speaking of the PLAGUE AKA PANDEMIC AKA COVID-19!!!
Colorado of all states have a meteorological department and they have all the best equipment for predicting our hurricanes... strange location for such a tropical weather system program at their university I presume https://tropical.colostate.edu/Forecast/2020-08.pdf, but I digress, anyway, a few days ago they upped the usual 12 named storms a season to 24 for our 2020 Hurricane Season, and since we already had 9 of them we are ticking that nasty predict quite literarily faster than we have in 15 years!!!
Thus my opening statement. At this time the locals, i.e. meteorologist are saying there is something out there right now with ONLY a 20% chance of developing...Whew!
The season as many know starts every June first and runs through November 30th... although one year we were still going, ticking off the storms well into JANUARY!!!
By then they use the Latin letter names.
So being a resident of the state of Florida 34 years this month on the 19th, we have been getting even more prepared. That is Hubby replacing, finally, our bedroom protection over our windows that had been thick plywood with the old acceptable clamps with now corrugated aluminum shutters as the rest of the house is except the front picture windows that are galvanized.
Our new roof installed two years ago was nailed and glued on, so we will be pretty much hard to knock down and invincible!
That is unless we get a storm surge of ten feet or more, our elevation is just nine feet above the waterline.
For Hurricane Irma in early September of 2017, we received an early morning robocall to evacuate due to concern over a storm surge of 15 feet, which thankfully never did occur.
Hubby seems to believe it would have to take quite a while to come to us. Refresher of where we are in proximity of the harbor, red stick pin is our home, so close, but two canals a bridge and a few more canals until Charlotte Harbor, a ten-minute boat ride.
Moving on to this morning's sunrises photos, again twenty minutes apart!
Moving on again to...
