And so that is how the days go... flag was put out and Hubby mowed the lawn between the rainstorm and the heat!
Being retired all these years, for over a decade now life is not that different these days than before COVID-19 tore the world apart. We had become loners way back when.
Yep, Hubby, and I were at one time very involved with our sons' lives and extracurricular activities, but it as I said has been quite some time.
Time marches on, and so have we with at our ages decided what is important to us and necessary.
I will sort of leave that there... okay, no I won't, family first, but not having any grandchildren make us less doting on family matters, and respect our sons and their spouses' desire for privacy.
And that is why we have our alone time with one another and our fur kids.
So we are perfect for this staying at home in our sanctuary anyway-mode!
Hot dogs are on many menus today and in a way, I think I would like one too but I am torn with my tummy problems, would only one hurt???
Used to be the all American meal for the day!
We do have a pound of Nathans brand in our freezer.
That and ice cream and watermelon used to make the day festive!
And all those mayonnaise salads, potato, macaroni, and Coleslaw...mmm mmm oh so good!
One shouldn't hurt?
Oh but now I remember Hubby's going to Cracker Barrel to pick up a different dinner choice, Rainbow trout...
Does that yell the Fourth of July?
I suppose if we caught the trout ourselves, as we used to catch fish when we did fish.
I secretly would prefer Hubby not going there or anywhere with COVID-19 so rampant in our state the new count for today was another record-breaking number of 11,458, a one day twenty-four-hour total!! Horrific!
And two weeks from this weekend will this be a tame number???
The possibilities are endless with the unfortunate attitudes of our country apparently not just my adopted home state of Florida is frightening!
And the rotten crux of the issue is there is not-a-thing we Hubby and I can do about it., except take care of ourselves.
Frustrating to say the least how many... most might feel.
Since we are doing our part of wearing masks if out, washing our hands and social distancing, and staying, yes staying away from crowds!!!
Yes, it is our countries birthday today, two hundred and forty-fourth years old today! Our youngest son was born in the year of the bicentennial, he was born in 1976. So that is how I remember, he received a special commemorative birth certificate in red white, and blue.
Any-who, life does have a way of moving on and sometimes there are so many different directions that it can go in...although I suppose now it has stopped for many!
In the way of not too much happening daily. Personally, I don't mind that... especially with all the horrible news of COVID-19 cases.
Many cope with reading fiction, watching movies, or doing hobbies such as crafts.
I enjoy DIY shows, and Netflix and yesterday I also acquired Disney plus for streaming with the intent of watching Hamilton. But it worked for a while and then the action stopped while the voices did not then there was an error so I gave up... it's only $6.99 a month and I will try again eventually, I have it available on our smart TV, my laptop and our phones too as Netflix is. But after trying to fix this problem for a while I gave up, and with the holiday weekend, I figured I should wait to call either Disney or Comcast to see if they could help maybe next week if the same thing keeps happening?
As I write tonight my tummy is so noisy, gurgly actually, annoying, and I have no idea why. I have avoided foods that could cause this??? My medication is in me.
Geez here I am once again with my verbose ramblings, perhaps I should change the name of this blog to that! " Verbose ramblings", has a nice ring to it???
All in all many are trying hard to give this day some pseudo normalcy, with a semblance of normalcy, with fireworks without crowds, in drive-in theaters, and on TV, Fort Myers Florida had antique planes do a flyover for an hour.
I think the worst idea is allowing the public to purchase their own fireworks of all kinds, except illegal ones, of course... but with enough power to still cause damage to people or property! On the news one guy already burnt down his home and damaged the neighbors... must we see, say or do more??? BE CAREFUL WITH THAT TOO!
Good grief who needs more drama in their lives, really!!! COVID-19 isn't enough for you???
Body parts can be blown off too!
THINK PEOPLE!!!
That is all I am saying ... I want you to be able to come back and read this dribble, okay?
Moving on again to ...
PRESIDENT NEXT!
