Speaking My Mind: To all our newsies!

The point my husband was trying to make that not all sides were heard from about the Sunseeker Resort here in Charlotte Harbor, and are against the tens of millions that we the taxpayers will have to shell out for widening of two main arteries of roads i.e. Harborview from I75 to get people to the quiet at one-time section of Bayshore drive where the construction has long begun and that is an opposite artery across 41/Tamiami Trail, not just a cheapo turning lane, miles of roadway stated that will cost Charlotte County taxpayers 23M not Allegiant! For that, they are paying not-a-thing! 

We are very concerned with accuracy in news reporting, and we do know that today too many news shows think they are crossbreeds of entertaining and news... but we as adults need our news, newsworthy, that means with all sides of an items conversation shown and many are up for debate! 

I do believe as a member of The Fifth Estate I do take issue when important stories that are meant to inform the public and do not have all associated necessary accurate information before it is disseminated to the public at large on-air who are waiting to learn more and then follow-ups are unclear or forgotten. 

Also when going to other states for your action stories please not only give the state but actual locations. Vagueness is only acceptable while dating, but only till you get serious! 

Then with us your audience we need the meat and bones of each story with details not accessible to the ordinary viewer... listen we are depending on all of you to keep US informed with absolutely the best that your abilities can do, no glib responses, please. 

We are depending on your(collectively) professionalism and do not ever assume your audience is stupid! Err on the possibilities that they may just not have the time to grab at their technologies all day long to be in the know... instead, they turn on your station at the end of their day expecting that YOU have covered all the bases so that we can be bettered informed! 

Your jobs are enormous to teach with due respect all of us what is going on, and realize we might know some things but not all of what has been happening! Fill in those blanks. Who what why and where the basics that you were taught your first year of college? Simplicity at its finest!

And this is a long-winded homage to you, and your work family and your engineers at the station.

So this is not personal, or to pick on you, never ever you are too good at what you do, it is more of a generalization for all of you at the station of what we see daily, fix those mistakes on-air for all of our sakes! Plus what's with repeating a story so many times, isn't news supposed to be current.
