Compassion I have found is inborn, not learned.
True compassion that is.
Others can be taught to become polite.
People do not like whiners.
Human nature or nurture?
Caring is a response when your situation has been diagnosed via their opinion about you.
Then again perhaps my discussion is more about empathy.
The world is one horror show after another.
Notre Dame, I had been there the summer of '69 with all my other art history group of students from LIM part of our continuing education, twenty-four of us were there.
My heart sank while watching that horrifying sight.
When you go to France to become immersed in it all... Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Museum, Champs-Elysees, Follie-Bergere, Montmartre, wow! Cafes, the food escargot...vineyards... champagne, and of course the Cathedral de Notre Dame!

And so when I saw that incredible building, cathedral with architecture that was a marvel of artistic construction, even 850 years ago, it was devastating to see what was happening and imagining the worst! ( We, here in America are enfants in construction compared to our brethren in Europe and elsewhere around the globe!)
Miraculously, so much was saved and a sincere two thumbs up to the men and women who served in their emergency crews there, BRAVO!
And again for all the wealthiest beings in Europe offering up millions that turned into a billion so rapidement to rebuild, and PM Macron stating that will happen within five years!
Some parts of the world do help one another, odd so do we, i.e. AMERICANS!
So many, too many natural disasters!
Here and now, tornadoes, and storms daily!
As the lump formed in my throat as I watched the Cathedral going up in flames so very, very high, and the spire coming down, I truly thought all was lost! I feel better now, do you?
