The Gulf of Mexico is warmer than the air here!
Off our coast directly that is the water is in the upper sixties Fahrenheit, while the air is 64 degrees F.
Thus the pictures on the news of people, northerners, swimming in the water is just plain odd to us that have lived in the region for nearly thirty-three years or longer!
What are they CRAZY???
Sorry.
To each his/her own, I guess.
But Geez it gives me shivers just watching that!
(Really isn't that hypothermia temps.?)
DANGEROUS!
Moving on...
Any-who, today here at home it was rather quiet.
Other than the normal furry kids' parents duties of feeding and taking them outside.
Those two things can be quite time consuming with two, feedings are only twice a day, but going out can be nearly hourly!
Only due to them not necessarily being in sync.
Could be due to Aussie, an Australian Shepherd and fifty-five pounds while Bella is a ten pound Morkie, Maltese /Yorkshire Terrier, different sizes speaks volumes on that topic.
Don't get me wrong we love them and normally weather cooperating it is no BIG DEAL!
But cold or rain, any inclement weather makes it a bit more challenging anywhere for anyone with furry kids!
And lately the weirdest thing has been happening here as you all know we live on a saltwater canal, and I do know our neighbors go fishing, but I think the remainder after cleaning the fish is tossed back into the canal and we have had vultures hanging around!
Aussie and his size is not a worry to let him out on his own, but little tiny Bella is, sometimes those vultures fly too low and too close. I do know they are the clean-up committee in nature of the dead critters, but I am afraid they might not realize that Bella is QUITE ALIVE and swoop down at her! As it is we do have eagles and hawks and ospreys that do eat live critters, I so enjoy watching them all, but I am also concerned for Bella's safety! Aussie not at all!
Although, he is so laid back and sweet if they did get hungry enough to attack him, he might not understand until it was too late!
Silly, hmm?
Not really but domestic versus wild, wild will win that fight.
Hubby did go to the grocery today, picking up things we needed and even something we wanted too, Alaskan King Crab and that is our dinner tonight, yum!
He's on kitchen duty tonight, thus giving me more time to finish this.
Happy good night all!
Count those blessings and we will too!
And next time please be here or be square, ya hear!
